Why ruin weapon skins?

Now 2 sets of weapon skins, the team ice and team rock are ruined!! Why… why TC did you feel the need to brand “GEARS 5” on these (and I bet a lot more future skins) weapon skins?? We know what game we’re playing. The skins look really good, until the glaring GEARS 5 hits you in the eyeballs. Look at past gears skins… did any other game need to brand the game and it’s number on the skins? Nope. Do you really think we want all of our weapons to say “gears 5” or “gears esports” ? This literally destroys the wonderful look of these (and past gears 4) weapon skins, and I can’t for the life of me, figure out why you’d wanna do this.

I hope you update your skins (like you did with the OG version of the blue/red phantom skins, when you decided to remove the pulse element from those skins) and remove the GEARS 5 on these and any future ones cause I gotta tell ya, if every other skin has GEARS 5 branded on em, I doubt they’ll be at the top of mine and many others favorite list of skins.

Get at your art director and tell em to stop doing this branding silliness and for the love of gears… update these skins and remove the gears 5 brand on em. It’s a horrible waste of a beautiful design.

i thought i was the only one who didn’t like that. I also don’t like the weapon name on the get hype skins or the pink skull for that matter. I would have preferred if the get hype skins were just highlights similar to the vegas skins from Gears 4.

And i’d prefer if the esports skins didn’t absolutely have to say esports but that is understandable i guess.

Awww man… I saw that that stupid gears 5 logo was on the ice skins, but they added it to the team Rock ones now too? I didn’t have my team metal skins on either, I hope they didn’t put it on those as well

That is really disappointing, I am not that far from the team Rock skins and I was really looking forward to unlocking them, and it’s just took the wind right out of my sails. I honestly don’t care if I hit Max rank now. Very disappointing. You guys don’t need to advertise to us the game that were already playing. We know it’s gears 5, please take the stupid logos off of our guns please

Well, thank you for confirming that for me at least.

I seriously want to know what they were thinking. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said I probably won’t care if I don’t reach the end of Tour of Duty now. I’m not a big fan of logos on skins to begin with, taking otherwise beautiful skins and slapping the stupid logo of the name of the game on it is completely nonsensical to me. It’s almost like they’re deliberately trying to cheapen the highest tier Rewards

Yes!! Omg it is the dumbest ■■■■■■■ thing, it is also really cringy and annoying to look at

TC: hey guys! Forget what game you’re playing? Well! Just look at your gun! (Smiles)

Not to mention they aren’t even animated, so much wasted potential there too, the team ice omen could pulsate like the infected omen from gow3! Buuuut nope. The team rock could move in between the cracks of the skin, buuut once again, nope! Instead we get a hideous “Gears 5” staple on the gun. :expressionless:

Yeah the get hype skins look terrible with the name of the gun on it. And did you notice that the claw doesn’t say “Claw” on it?? Guess they ran outta room…

Tbh i never imagined myself getting those skins … Its just way too grindy & annoying & boring, killing bots in beginner difficulty …

Nah you’re not the only one.

I have the same feeling with digital art in general too. Someone designs say an awesome looking wallpaper with a video game theme, than plasters the title of the game. Ruins it, just like the words Gears 5 ruin these awesome looking weapon skins.

I completely agree. Like who is doing this “art”? Pick some new colors as well . Stay the ■■■■ away from the gold. There’s so many more colors that would look so ■■■■■■■ rad.
This game is terrible so far. I’m super disappointed.

Agreed, totally do not need the “Gears 5” anywhere in the game, save for the splash screen and end credits.

And do they really have to put ‘Gears 5’ on a weapon skin… In gears 5… On the game called Gears 5… Like we don’t know what game we are playing :joy:

I just agree it’s the first thing I noticed about the skin.

We shouldn’t really criticise though. It’s actually quite a shame for the poor, little, inbred, disabled monkeys that TC are allocating more and more important tasks for the future of Gears 5 to.

I think… I think it’s because when you watch an esport stream, it can be FIFA, Street Fighter, Fortnite and more… So sometime (yeah sometime, be sure ! ) you can be confused when your watching. You have a doubt and you’re looking like this : " aaaaw damn…But what game is it ? FIFA ? Gears ?.. raaah if only someone can think a skin with the name on it !!! That’ll be so much confortable !"
