I’m afraid of change because it makes me angry and confused.
This! I knew something was seriously messed up when i played an inaugural 1v1 against a buddy. ive played gears since 2007 and have gained some serious skill along the way. i would call my self a very good player and definitely the best among my friends. My buddy who is not a very good player always jokingly talks smack and challenges me to 1v1’s to which i usually win 15-3 or something close to that. When we hopped on gears 5 and played it was apparent that the skill gap was gone. normal gears shotgun battle moves left me getting hard aim blasted from distance and led to alot of bs kills. i ended up adapting my play style and won but only like 15-11. it was pretty clear that this game was eliminating alot of the skill moves ive used for years and catering towards a lower skill level
Ill give you my answer in a different way:
If you happen to like casual games like Flappy Bird, Apex Legends or Fortnite , THEN this is the Game for you, you won’t be disappointed . It was designed to cater players who are fond of those kinds of games.
If you happen to like cover based violent shooters , then Gears 1, 2 and specially 3 , you would have a blast playing them, Horde on Gears 4 its at its best.
I f you happen to like complex and innovative non shooter games then ORI AND THE BLIND FOREST its the game to beat … you won’t regret it = )
The whatsup weekly looks good. Let’s see how it pans out with the fixes
From what I’m gathering, a lot of core fans genuinely don’t like the direction TC is taking the game regarding skill gap, and appealing towards drawing in newer customers. And I can understand that.
Reality is, that’s just business. You have to constantly gravitate towards acquiring new customers, all the time. Yeah, it sucks for core fans, but what did everyone expect? If the game designs we’re rooted just around core fans, were would the acquisition of new fans come from? Their has to be a silver lining.
Gears 5 feels like they jammed SO much into the game, too try an appease every type of player. We can’t give the core fans EVERYTHING they want, without giving new fans something.
I can see what they were trying to do, but I’m also optimistic that they’ll fix certain things, in due time, that will gain core fans back. But it might be to late then.
Please let this update give us the ability to kill a matriarch in the incinerator on Forge. Because as of now, it doesn’t even faze her…
You must be new to this game

It could be a good game if the game wasn’t broken
Yesterday during a horde match, a friend who plays on Xbox One, their game closed suddenly and sent him to Xbox dashboard/main menu, and me on PC the game caused me BSOD, the worst scenario you can imagine, forcing me to hard reboot. Nvidia is the only one who replied me,
If you or someone still defends the game, you’re very wrong.
Part of my review on Metacritic:
Now about the overall game
- Some collectibles and jack components not showing up.
- I beat the campaign once and I didn’t receive the achievements.
- Is lack of real content such maps and characters.
- Still we can’t play offline other modes rather than campaign or versus. Specially horde we can’t play It offline, the same error that Gears of War 4 did.
- We can’t customize the character skins and weapons skins without internet, thanks to microtransaction ****
- What’s the point of bring “50x bigger maps than previous Gears” if those bigger maps are empty? the ice and desert maps are stunning but nothing more. It fills hours of the campaign with long and boring walk.
- Then you removed 1 Act of the campaign, now there are only 4 Acts, and their chapters are smaller, some of them are only dialogues. Less chapters too.
- More connection issues on multiplayer and horde
- Some game mechanics that a lot of users already post them on the forum and I won’t repeat again but I agree with them
- The tour of duty system is only for “no life” people, grinding like no tomorrow.
- Predator microtransactions, fortunately these stuffs are unnecessary.
Well one of my major issues is TC’s communication skills, I never feel like I know what they’re doing to imrpove the game.
In last weeks What’ up they said they’d reveal details of the upcoming new characters only to then put in this weeks What’s up that we’d be getting them tomorrow along with a trailer.
