Never understood how they work but seems like a wierd default setting since most people I know keep theirs closer together, usually having the outer 2 or 3 lower than the inner, which I also dont understand why lol, probably 2 years late for this post but I’m ready to learn. Also what do yall keep yours at, simply curious.
I keep mine 4 and 0, so I dont have stick drift
They’re the default in 4/5 because they were also the default in 1/2/3/J etc you just couldn’t change them. I think it’s almost an inarguable fact to say that outer deadzone at 0 is the best for gow. Then inner is down to preference, but there are positives and negatives. Closer to 10 gives more stability, closer to 0 increases responsiveness and can make your sensitivity seem faster.
I use 8-0, I used 10-0 for a very long time — 8-0 seems better on PC, I highly value stability.
I’m slowly thinking about bumping my inner up because it can get too twitchy at timed while aiming
I think deadzones are very much specific to individual controllers and you need to adjust them accordingly.
I have mine on 2/2 .They were adjusted to those settings after checking for drift. In other words I started from 0 and increased them until the non-input drift stopped. The problem with having them too high is that it makes aiming more difficult and more exaggerated.
So that’s why there’s no one universal setting—you have to adjust them for your own specific controller.
