i noticed that the palace guard has became series 3, has anybody else though?

that is a bit dumb, since the theron elite is from the armored kantus pack, it should be the theron sentinel.

Yep I agree with that, Actually before 2 days When I saw the palace guard craftable and not the theron sentinel I said “Well that’s weird.”
And then just today I realized that the theron elite is the second craftable character haha
