What's Up Gears - Operation 5: Hollow Storm - PvE Overview

I am sure on one of the Gears games their is an achievement for doing 1-50 horde without a player going DBNO lol.

Revive is good for when your not near your team with Hijack and things have got bad and there all down, if you run over and hijack ends, there all up. This was also mentioned on the stream so people could have more fun with Jack without having to worry that the team will be affected if he is not around to heal them. Could be the answer between DNF and Victory :slight_smile:

Gears 4 has one for no players ever dying (on Insane). You could go DBNO.

They’re trying to please those tards that get off to grindy gameplay mechanics
“Yeah I enjoy playing horde for 3 hours and getting only green and purple score boost cards”

I’ll play around, see what I now enjoy.
At least I can be Dom or Sam which softens blows.
With duplicates allowed, things may be more fun, I won’t quit before I’ve tried. That’s madness.

I thought Sam was unavailable a op5 pve launch

She is unavailable until the next title update during Op5 and the Deebee confirmed in the stream.

Also they said the ability to not go back to the lobby with Ironman modifier in Escape will also be coming in on the next title update. I am sure they said it would take you to the last checkpoint. I thought it would take you back to the pods at the beginning but checkpoint is better :slight_smile:

This only applies to “global cards” and only Baird has these at the moment. If two Baird’s/robotics experts have say a level 5 Global Overclock card on then it’s actually irrelevant whose is active and whose is not. These cards automatically apply the effects on the fortification regardless of who builds it.

This will be irrelevant if both global cards are the same level. The global cards apply the effects automatically regardless of who builds the weapon locker or sentry. JD or Kait could build them and the same effects are applied.

Not in Escape, it doesn’t.

I was aware of that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Figured you were, still worth mentioning though.

Probably a bigger concern in Escape than Horde, though not ideal there either of course.

I can wait a bit. Especially if I can also be an oddly short DR1 too.

His repair-card makes him the best Engi. I doubt that the perks and new cards for Del/Baird will change that.

Repairing things as Jack costs a whole lot more power than as a dedicated engineer though I think? I don’t play engineer much but it feels that way.

As long as your team keeps 2-3 taps alive you’ll be rolling in dosh. And taps will spawn in Wave 1 now so it’s even easier.

Jack will be a lot better to help in combat now rather than just repairing and healing. Plus when your some enemies hijacking you can revive teammates the normal ways the characters do.

True. But most of randoms I play with completely ignore the existence of Taps for some reason, even if it’s right in front of their face and ready to draw power from. It’s really hard sometimes.

Anything is miserable with randoms. Especially with those who don’t listen.

But you’ll still have one slot being wasted between the two players, because the second player could have swapped to another card whilst the first player kept overclock. I suppose it’s good in some ways. Now one baird could have global sentries and the other global overclock.

Yes, but that wasn’t the issue mentioned initially. It was about whose card would count, which I’ve said is irrelevant in the sense the same value / buff is added. It was mentioned in the stream that if there were multiple Robotics Experts then they would ideally coordinate their choice of cards.
