Love allows room for all of tc’s “improvements”.
Love the weapons, the speed, movement, the game.

What i cant stand by is the utterly dreadful decision to remove Guardian from ranked !!!

Bring back Guardian!!!

Removal of aim adhesion and the increased reload speeds on starting weapons have made the beta playlist the best feeling playlist in the game.

I don’t have strong feelings on the active damage boosts either way. I’m fine with (within reason) or without them. But I absolutely hated the slow as ■■■ perfect active bars.

How does it make sense?

Also there are a number of reasons why people might not be picking up this game. Saying it’s just one thing is ridiculous:

I mean how could you possibly know why people don’t pick up the game yourself unless you’ve conducted some sort of massive survey of everyone of the 3 million or so people who have played it. Otherwise how would you possibly know why people don’t play this game?

Also, you attribute the reason people don’t pick up the game to the exact reason that most people DO pick up the game which is for the close quarter combat so really your argument lacks critical thinking and is the exact sort of thing we need less of around here.

How do you know close quarters is the reason why 3 million people have picked up and played the game unless you have asked them?

the disconnent between casual Gears matchmaking and more competitive matchmaking is huge, when you play quickplay or low level ranked you would probably think the lancer isn’t too strong, when you put that bad boy into the hands of a grade A marksman with a 5 stack going on it becomes apparent how lethal/effective it is.

I’m biased af so of course I want aim assist to be removed and the lancer/snub active to go away, but I could see how awful it is for much lower skilled players, essentially TC is removing the rug from under you and making it much much harder to survive against good players, but hey that’s kinda the point of ranked so take what you will from it.

Guys guys… don’t worry, just be patient,no need to be upset… just… go play some other fun games like… this new one just released…called The Last of Us 2.

Sure, I will.

You got me at the first half, total pass for me. I guess I will stick with the former then.

That’s a boring game

I know that’s my opinion but I would pick 5 over TLOU2 in a heartbeat

The truth is Gears 5 Horde is no fun anymore. Weapons for Kait and JD are weakened severely; shooting cannot even hurt. The only improvement has weakened all characters’ skill cards. Horde is PvE and not PVP, so why decrease so bad? I jump to gears from Destiny. For Gears 5 Horde, I try 20 times, and it will be only 1/20 times I can finish a PvE! For the game Destiny PvE events, play 20 times it will have 19/20 finished. Destiny focuses more on weapons and improves player interest. Gears 5 degrade skill cards worst ever and make users less interested. That has shown in Destiny gamers try Gears 5 and give up.
So don’t you do some statistics on how many gamers are playing and need improvement? I play PvE, and a lot of people do and give up Kait about 18/20 with the Horde. That includes me because the weapons are weakened so severely that the Gnasher shotgun has no bleeding effect weaken at all!
Also, Gears 5 has so many bugs compared to gears 4. Weapons in Destiny are weakened and just for PVP and still have the power for PvE! Gears 5 never improve or keep but weaken almost every character.
Also, there are still a lot of bugs! If you use the Xbox elite with chatpad typing text, you will find out! Developers for gears 5 should improve players’ interest instead of downgrade every players’ skill card.
Yes, may be you do focus more on PVP. Don’t you think it should be both? Most games with Xbox rated 5 stars are by PvE players. I rated it 5 stars before, but now, I would say worst Gears game ever.
I did buy boost once willingly, but now I might have to think 100 times! It might be better to change my interest in Gears 5!

Actually I’m not the one who said that. You are^

I was simply referring to the point you made above which I’m sure is also not grounded in any real statistical merit.

But I’m glad you’re at least noticing what constitutes a responsible argument now.

Er no you said…

“Also, you attribute the reason people don’t pick up the game to the exact reason that most people DO pick up the game which is for the close quarter combat”

So again how do you know the reason why and it’s anymore significant than my reasons why people don’t play. Oh yeah you don’t and you did the exact same thing you accused me of

I know exactly what I said, you seem to be the one who doesn’t realize what you said:

This implies 2 things:

  1. New players don’t stick around because they don’t enjoy the close quarters combat brought about by the gnasher

  2. Everyone who does play uses the gnasher almost exclusively

Let’s ignore that the first point is simply not certain, there’s likely a plethora of reasons why new players leave, but no-one can know for sure without asking all of them. Let’s also ignore that the second point is also statically inaccurate unless there is comprehensive data you are referring to with your claim of 90% of the kills being from the gnasher.

So ignoring that your argument has no evidence to substantiate it, I then tried to point out another flaw with it, that it is circular:

And this is when I said, "you attribute the reason people don’t pick up the game to the exact reason that most people DO pick up the game which is for the close quarter combat.” I think my wording confused you, what I should have said was, "you attribute the reason people don’t keep playing the game to the exact reason that most people DO keep playing the game which is for the close quarter combat.”

If no-one is playing this game because all the kills are with the gnasher (close quarters), then how is it that everyone who does play, uses it 90% of the time? You see, you’re taking the thing that makes it popular and saying it’s the problem.

All I was doing was trying to get you to see the absurdness of your argument and to point out that it’s not responsible to make sweeping generalizations without any legit data to back it up.

I hate pvp and this ***** gnasher and slice hollyday on ice it s ridiculous …
But i hope this changes are only for pvp and not for all the game pvp and pve …:crossed_fingers:

It’s not supposed to it’s literally and mechanic in a video game. I agree though, we need an explanation for it to make sense. like what if the lancer after shooting so many time it then builds enough memetic energy they in the gun. Once u active it transfer that energy in the billets, giving our actives.

unfortunately i think they did this because the player base is already low. by having too many game modes it splits everyone up too much which makes it harder to find matches and such. just my though as to why they did it.

To be fair TC needs to stop trying to shove Escalation down our throats. I dont believe AT ALL that Guardian had a lower player base than Escalation. Most people didnt like it in 4 and TC some how made the mode even more boring with 5

i agree with you on that. im honestly for swapping them out but having them both as well as dodge ball could cause problems in my opinion.

Oh I agree about the population problem but keeping Escalation isnt really doing anything except bumping up KoTH and TDM numbers. I doubt Escalation got a huge bump in players after the removal of Guardian. I know a handful of people that just completely stopped playing because they removed Guardian. Ive barely played since they removed Guardian

Im all for removing active damage. i never thought it made sense or should be in the game and i played since 08. we had an unwritten rule of " no actives " back then and honestly would consider someone bad if they relied on it. so to me, that tells me other people didn’t like it either… I believe actives for every weapon should only reward you by giving you a faster reload over your opponent who didn’t catch it which is why putting it at the front makes sense to me. I felt this way back than and still do.

Oh yea definitely, like i said if they swapped escalation for guardian i would be happy cause i would have more than 2 game modes i actually like. but considering escalation is what i wanna call “their baby” (because they came up with it), i don’t think it will happen.
