I myself could care less about anything PVP. I do wish they would fix the immediate with the current tour.
However, as far as the quality given on this what’s up. It’s the best I’ve seen to date. So if this is the new direction in how things are relayed and broken down, I’m very excited for the future.
Just remember Gears, they started with crap and are slowly building something good. Maybe even great.

this game more than a pure shooter. Movement and shooting mechanics are weaved into a very unique thing.
That doesn’t change the genre, though. Just because there’s wallbouncing and melee doesn’t make it a fighting game.

GEARS HAS a Giant learning curve. Thats why its a niche game to begin with.

MOVING YOUR JOYSTICK DIFFERENT ways to do different moves. ( reaction shots, wrap arounds or just wall bouncing in general to evade incoming bullets)
Gears is like that with movement and it has guns

Bullet magnetism change looks huge… I have 25 clips saved on my PC of what appear to be completely BS deaths where people shoot the air and kill me, and that image in the What’s Up is exactly what it looks like. Thank god that’s gone. Of course, there’s still the issue of me shooting people in the face and the Server seemingly deciding my bullets aren’t important enough to spawn multiple times a game…
Also a big fan of the reduced Lancer damage, especially with slower slide speed. Actually, I like all these tuning changes. But we really need a lower gib range on the Gnasher, that’s still a key issue to how the consistency feels imo. You’re making lots of good technical changes to improve consistency, but because of the BS that happens in Internet games, having a long gib range is always going to make a lot of kills/deaths feel ridiculous a lot of the time. If it’s brought in really close, there should be very little question about whether you gibbed someone with skill or not.

A lot of people. Having less people allows for matches to be found quicker and makes it possible to play it on the 5v5 maps. 14 people on a standard 5v5 map would have felt cluttered.
All these changes need to happen at once are because the strong relationships between them.
High bullet magnetism is a band-aid solution to the current amounts of RNG with your shotgun spreads.
By eliminating the randomness you no longer need the high magnetism. You are in control of where your shots go. Every input should receive the same output. (Same shot/same results)
The slide speed has been reduced to allow for players to react to Up As and create diversity amongst the playstyles. Health Regen has been reinstated during wall bouncing as well and opens that avenue for bouncers.
The spread being tighter allows for more pellets per shot to be hit.
More potential for maximum damage as well as more opportunities to miss.
You will be rewarded for being more accurate then the other player.
The game will inherently be more difficult and take more skill.
Anyways BRAVO, I’m stoked to finally play a Gears game that has a skill gap.
