Like enemies stunned by flash bangs and shocks?
What about “fart-nade?”
I explain below why cryo grenades should never be implemented in horde and escape.
Flash Grenades: If an enemy is hit with a flash grenade, the enemy stays at that exact same spot. It won’t move. But here’s the problem: 'It would display an animation of it being ‘Dizzy’. As a result, that enemy’s head sort of keeps on wobbling until the flashbang’s effects last. In close quarters, its easy to get a good fix on the enemy to inflict serious damage to its head. From afar, it would be a bit tough to get a good aim on its dizzy head.
Shock grenades: If an enemy gets inflicted by shock grenades, the enemy will still attempt to close the distance between you, and approach you(and subsequently moving outside of the AOE)(stumps are an exception, they remain absolutely still and do not attempt to get out of the AOE). When the enemy is in the AOE, it places its hand in front of its face, shielding its face from incoming bullets.
Cryo grenades makes all the above difficulties associated with the usage of flash grenades and shock grenades vanish.
Now why I said cryo grenades should not be implemented in escape and horde is because the enemy remains ‘Perfectly still’. It is literally frozen in place. Vital parts can easily be targeted and finished off quickly.
Also, frozen enemies take more damage, so less ammo would be required to finish them off.
Cryo grenades make the freezing process take place ‘Instantly’. Whereas using cryo cannon and icy precision requires some skill factor on the player’s end to freeze an enemy also, the freezing process is not instantaneous, it takes a bit of time.
Ever try aiming for the neck near the shoulders? It sometimes even gets under helmets and no matter how a stunned head moves the part that the head moves on doesn’t
I prefer the stun being with smoke grenades like it was in gears 4 and I think the flash bangs could get a very slight buff now. It was ridiculously op at launch and lasted too long then. but since they’ve been nerfed pretty hard, it seems like they’re highly situational instead of being decent for general use.
These are the shortcomings that require to be overcome by using flash grenades and shock grenades. This at least demands some effort from the user’s end to kill enemies.
What I have been trying to prove from the past few posts of mine is that Cryo grenades require zero skill to use whatsoever. This is why I don’t ever want cryo grenades to be implemented in escape, horde and campaign.
Master horde/escape is supposed to be challenging. Cryo grenades don’t make these challenging at all. It would become even worse in horde as you could keep on buying multiple cryo grenades from the fabricator.
It is trully sad how they just destroyed the usefullness of frags in horde in their stupid nerf campaigns…
I remember i once tagged a frozen deadeye (deadeye doesnt have a lot of health, and with it being frozen by lizzy it means that it had under 25% health, by definition), and the explosion did not kill it …
Shocks and flashbangs ARE useful.
Incendiaries are useful for killing yourself, in Horde. More reliable than frags, i find…
