I never said it was a bigger accomplishment, I’m just highlighting the fact that he said ‘who cares’ to the prospect of the MP being the most casual ever, which it is, and being in diamond/masters doesn’t change the mechanics of the game. If you wanna play horde all day that’s fine, but a lot of people only play MP.
People have selective memory with gears and ignore things that don’t fit their narrative

There were flaws in every Gears game but they were indeed so much better than 5. Well, Gears 5 is 60fps so at least that’s better than 1-3 + J.

They were still better Gears games imo, but to each their own. But yeah GoW2 was notorious for its bugs glitches and exploits. If anyone wants to talk about a broken Gears games, look no further than GoW2.

I’m convinced this is one of the shittest threads ever made.
Most of the people who say Cliff B should come back, still think Epic make the game. Therefore, more fool on you, if you take those seriously.
Anyone who actually pays attention, knows what Cliff B has said and done in the past.
This thread just shows you’re reaching for something that just isn’t there. As you’re trying to justify your stupid posts from all the other threads you constantly get battered in.

Hey dude, im with you on the cliffy B crap, people dont know what they are on about. Don’t tie that in so easily with the game becoming more and more casual… those changes are very real and very frustrating to people who are willing to put in the effort to get good at this game. Obviously cliffy B isn’t the answer 
but a lot of the complaints are founded in reality.

Umm GOW just like politics man! Rod…Cliff…Major Nelson! Lol it doesn’t matter who or what company makes the game. You will still be crying! Microtransaction…Umm will forever stil be around! Don’t like the game…dont play it! Don’t Wanna spend 5 to 20 on a skin whatever…dont buy it! Everyone wants the shinny new whatever gnasher to “look cool” really… give me a plain looking character in plain clothes that has nothing to do with gears and I will play as that guy! Why? Because I love to play the games!

It’s not as simple as “If you don’t like EA, don’t buy their games”.
I like BioWare and loved the Mass Effect series, so when EA bought them what a surprise that they immediately put lootboxes into ME3 's multiplayer. But, is it fair to punish Bioware by boycotting their games? The artists on the ground just want to make cool ■■■■ and I’m happy to support them in that, it’s the publishers who put pressure on them to inject in microtransactions, make them grindy and it’s getting worse.
Mass Effect Andromeda was a mess and the series is basically dead now because the team were pulled off to work on that boring looter shooter Anthem (which is also basically dead). It all comes down a game’s capacity to transport microtransactions into the thing you already paid for. Leveraging content against your patience with an immense, unassailable grind and throwing their hands up and saying “well it’s the player’s choice” whenever they are criticised for it.
We’re getting worse games BY DESIGN and it’s companies like EA that we have to thank for it.
It was EA who were in the UK Parliament talking brazenly about “suprise mechanics” so Cliff can ■■■■ off with the whataboutery - they have absolutely earned every bit of their infamy.

There’s criticizing something out of love and passion and a desire to see it improve, and then there’s being petty and vindictive.
I don’t think these boards are the former when every other thread is either a sh-tpost, some variation of “f—- TC stupid f—-ing broken game Terminators”, or saying that the game is dying because Fortnite has more viewers on Twitch.
None of the screeching monkeys on this board are willing or able to explain what’s actually wrong with it without resorting to sh*tflinging or doling out their hundreds of hours playing Gears 1, as if that means anything. Nobody offers any suggestions, nobody analyzes anything, it’s just autism.
There’s a “piling on” mentality that happens on the internet these days, everyone sees a mob of people kicking someone so they join a mob. You see it everywhere these days.
I wouldn’t say nobody… but I do agree a lot of the complaints seem to be purely complaints for the sake of complaining and never explain much of anything. While demanding things which they then also give no good reasons for or explain either.

It’s always been like this, going way back to at least the days of Gears 3. I was really active on the boards back then when it was the Epic forums and it was still endless tantrums about the sawed-off, or Overpass, or rifles and stopping power, or the Retro Lancer, orwhatever else, take your pick.
Of the different gaming communities I’ve taken part in during my time on this Earth, there are times where I think Gears probably has the worst ones (it doesn’t, though I do notice that poor literacy is pretty big with Gears people for some weird reason), and it sucks because I love this series, it has a very special place in my heart, but the other people in it make me want to drink bleach.
I have been getting rather tired of all the repeated complaints and aggressive posts, as well as ones asking for Cliffy B back(which a recent thread has told me would not be such a good idea if that was ever seriously demanded) or for TC to be replaced, as well. With those kinds of attitudes, it’s no wonder no feedback or word from TC has reached the forums in a while now. Has me wanting to just go on a forum break until/if things calm down a little. Most of what really bothers me about Gears 5 is really just having server issues with progression(today again, 50 waves of Insane the game decided I wouldn’t get any rewards for it, which wasn’t great) and sometimes being able to (not) play the game. Everything else mostly seems subjective and/or minor that I’m just starting to get into more(I have played since Gears 2, but find this one is not really that bad though I have not had much interest in going into the Versus aspect as I generally tend to be more of a PvE player). Other than that, I have had some decent fun in playing the game.
But I only started posting on these forums(old and new TC forum), under a different account at first on the old one and a few months ago on this one with this account. So I never experienced what the Gears forums were like during the Epic days(probably not very good given what you say, especially when Gears J was around).
