Well would you look at this

I see a bunch of people on this forum complaining that the game is awful and that it should be sold back to Cliffy B. I always find that hilarious because this community constantly says “omg 5 is to casual and the micro transactions are so greedy”. I remember in 3 how much everybody cried and screamed because of the retro lancer and sawed off. You all said that made the game too casual. You want Cliff to return to the game when he was very clearly trying to steer away from the deep intricate meta in gears know as run around with a Gnasher

I’m convinced most of the people saying cliff should come back don’t pay attention to gaming outside of gears, After gears Cliff worked on a game called Law Breakers which had micro transactions

Or if that doesn’t convince you take a look at this interview he did and the responses he gave in regards to micro transactions

So very clearly things would not be different with your Lord and savior Cliffy b. He was clearly trying to change the way the game is played in 3 and he is very much in support of micro transactions. You know because a purely cosmetic item has no impact on gameplay and the “grind” for these new characters doesn’t have to be done if you’re too lazy to do it

Everytime somebody mentions Cliffy B, imma quote the following.

Sure he did create my favorite competitive shooter, but the man isn’t this franchise’s lord and Savior.

I don’t think they mean it in a literal sense rather than just implying they want the older game features back.
GoW1 didn’t have microtransactions and terrible aim mechanics under Cliff B’s leadership.

That’s because gears 1 came out over a decade ago. Very few games had micro transactions. He wasn’t doing anything revolutionary by not having them. As more games started including them and he saw how much money other companies for making he began including them too. Also gears 1 did have bad aim mechanics there’s a reason nobody is asking for center screen aiming to return

I didn’t ask for an explanation for as to why it didn’t have microtransactions I’m telling you that’s what they’re referencing when they cite Cliff B the nostalgia of wanting old gow back. The GoW1 aim mechanics were center screen like CS:GO if you think that’s bad then shooter games aren’t for you. GoW1’s aim mechanics were so fair that it even allowed backpacking aka camera shooting because you put the center of your screen on the enemy.

I had to give you an explanation because you seemed a little lost. So when they say they want Cliff back what they’re really saying is they want gears 1 back? You do realize he worked in 2 and 3 and people are also calling for a return back to those. You realize CSGO is first person and gears is third person right? Tells me all I need to know right there.

CS:GO can be played in 3rd person in custom servers, so what’s your point? I’m not lost at all you’re the literalist here that believes every time someone says bring back Cliff B they genuinely mean bring him back and not fix the game.

Remind me again can gears be played in first person? Ok then. There’s a reason why they changed it and haven’t gone back to it. It can be exploited in third person.

They do generally mean bring him back. Otherwise they would say remake the old games or they would specify what features they want back. And some people do that, but when someone says hey bring Cliff back to save the franchise they are quite literally talking about Cliff. What grade did you drop out at just for reference?

sadly i am learning this is just how gaming is going to be when more money can be made especially those willing to spend it on lootboxes and other micro transactions.

They changed it to accommodate the noobs that care more about skins than skill. There was nothing wrong with the GoW1 mechanics. All games are essentially 1st person, as you have 1 screen and everything is rendered as a 2D image. The player model can be irrelevant. You’re clearly not that observant since you asked me which grade I dropped out of when I have UK in my username.

No one cares about this anyway?

Anyone who loved MP cares

The difference between is night and day on Master Horde or Escape. I’m sure it’s the same for Diamond or Master Ranked. Casuals aren’t going to have easy time there. They don’t spend as much time.

Back on thread, I find it ridiculous whenever people refer to Cliffy B, replacing Rod, selling franchise and stuff like that.

Its not how people play, its how TC have implemented tunings or delays that make it casual as a result most who where mainly MP people are annoyed just like me.

You’re not all that smart or observant if you can observer the difference between first person and third person.

So as long as there are difficult modes on horde and escape it doesn’t matter how casual MP has become? Think we’ve found the guy that sweats out 50 rounds of horde 3 times a day.

I find it humorous that people talk about the old gears games like they was so much better than 5. Especially, gears 2. Yea. Cliff pushed hard for more rifle play in gears 2. They didnt like that gears 1 was mainly played with gnashers. Gears 2 is so damn slow and the stopping power is completely ridiculous and only got worse with gears 3. Then, moving to gears 3, you add the sawed-off, retro lancer, and stupid single fire hammer burst as starting load out options and people want to call out gears 5 for casual mechanics?
Don’t get it. :man_shrugging:

And sweating out multiplayer is a bigger accomplishment? You do realize you’ll never go pro so it doesn’t matter what your rank is
