Weekly Hive - The Line

Or they want to lure you into an Ice or Buzzkill Scion waiting nor far away.

By the way, Juvies would also usually not be stupid enough to run into your chainsaw unless one of them got impatient and offered itself as sacrificial bait to try creating an opening for the others, or that’s what I assumed was happening rather than the AI deciding to go for it even when it would just result in its death.

Sounds like you fought the Claw… and the Claw won.

It did, many times :frowning:

Well the Claws are predictable…You see one! Head shot incoming!

I don’t hate them though, it has always been paid back in kind

Hahaha Snakey! Your Awakey!

That’s why stealth will always be impossible with randoms. So annoying, especially on LE or Trap.

Right I’ve given up on this one lol. Ran it and got rinsed and most players kept standing right in the line of sight for torque and then got annoyed cause it had a part to play with them getting killed. I’m gonna go put my fist through a dry wall now lol

These fools don’t know how to sneak to the ammo room, so gotta improvise. We just rush it and if someone dies, we get him out of the pod later. There’s no plan to deal with the final section by LZ lately either, so I’ve just been distracting them and sacrificing myself while someone closes the door. Idc about doing it the right way anymore, just want my completes. Almost there, lol.

What video are you referring to exactly?

It was your solo run. You did actually show your set up it was just so fast I missed in the first 200 times I followed your excellent run through.

I’ve got it down now on lower levels, I’m not good enough to attempt a solo on master and when I join custom lobbies it’s painful. I joined a few ‘know your role and what you are doing’ lobbies last night and they were triggering everything from the start!

There’s no way that’s going to work with a Mulcher Scion unless it spawns somewhere that it has to move to start shooting at everyone… or let alone with two Mulchers in front of the supply room.

Forcing myself to do several the Line runs as Pilot, I’ve decided on possibly the best strat to play her on this hive. I’m making this post because, in my experience, it’s a very underappreciated class on this hive. Not everyone understands what it can do here. IMO, any team should be able to work with Pilot, but caution, as not everyone appreciates the class. You may wind up kicked every once in a while, but keep your head up! The fault is typically not yours, but of their ignorance. I’ll try to keep this short. I’ll only list the cards with explanations for their uses.

Card setup: Rear Armor, Aggressive Armor, Cold Finish, Bleeding Mulcher, The Hammer

Rear Armor: you can last a long time in venom. If you don’t have a particularly strong team, this can come in handy since you’ll often be riding venom closely, or be behind it. Lasting a long time in venom means you’re able to retrieve left behind weapons other classes wouldn’t dare to.

Aggressive Armor: can help protect you. If you’re at full health, a talon or hammerburst shot on a scion provides stim, which lets you tank any hit, even a dropshot or buzzkill.

Cold Finish: used to finish off scions weakened by teammates. Some strong classes are able to quickly bring scions down to low health, but to finish them off they need to waste additional precious ammo. If coordinated well, you can finish them off with your talon, hammerburst or a spare mulcher, as soon as they are at 25% health. This is also good for picking off any trailing, weakened scions marching from behind through the venom.

Bleeding Mulcher: be careful with this one! It only comes in handy against specific scions, namely Dropshots, Buzzkills, and to some extent Cryos. It can take Drops and Buzz’s out quickly, perhaps quicker than any other class (save for Marksman through x-ray). For Drops, get in their face so the mulcher penetrates the shield then let loose. For Cryos, make sure there’s enough distance between you so you won’t be frozen. I wouldn’t try it on Mulchers. Careful there aren’t any around because they’ll end the fun quickly!

The Hammer: Can stun a scion for 4 secs or so, providing an easy kill for a melee class, or an opportunity to revive downed teammates. Prioritize Mulchers and Cryos as those are the fastest and most dangerous. If a Tactician cooperates with you, you two can team up for devastating dropshot flurries! Perhaps it’s best use case is at the LZ, after the lever is pulled. With a full dropshot, you should be able to stun-lock the scions so they never make it out onto the pad!

Alright, that does it! Let me know what you think. Anyone completed a bunch of runs on the Line as Pilot? I’ve probably done 5 or 6. Do you agree with my suggestions or are there any cards you’d change out?

Imagine having a Gunner with you running Tank Synergy and Heavy Deflect. Nigh unkillable.

I remember you. we did the “surge” on the right side and you were paduk. I can say you have no patience and you don’t like challenge lol

Don’t be talking about my boy like that.

My man knows how to play the game.

I got Kait the Gnasher and she didn’t even bring full stim-cards. That’s not a Challenge, that’s just stupid.

As for the patience part, the Lahni didn’t use her Talon do draw some fire away from me/Kait and once we started pushing spacing apparently wasn’t needed anymore. Same for Kaits bleeding targets. Why give Kait Stim if she could get her 50% healing.

And talking to a wall isn’t helping either. I know some people think communicating with others is some sort of satanic ritual but at least SOME response would help.

I probably even remember the wrong match, but the only other Surge attempt I did yesterday was with Paduk/Clay who somehow managed to both die on the left side and once I got to Ch2 their first instinct was to just run through the Hive. Clay didn’t even bring Bait Armor+Heavy Deflect.

you got the wrong match. I was anya as an infiltrator and you said “next time we go to the left or I quit the game !” and your words before were aggressive. It doesn’t make you want to respond even if you play very well and the title of my lobby was “go right side” for more challenge.

Exactly. I was the one pushing to get the inital Grenadier kill.

Kait. If you play Kaits class you’re Kait for me.

Gee, I wonder why.
