Extremely unlikely. The voice actor is retired from voice work nowadays. I think he had a heart attack or something a couple of years ago. Even if they just used old voice lines there’d be quite a few gaps, so probably wouldn’t work on old lines alone.

Transplant. And he’s 71. After reading Bloodlines I was hoping we might see him down the line but unless they give us a young Hoffman, with an appropriately young v.o. actor, I wouldn’t bet money on it.

I think Gears6 should start with a cutscene of his funeral tbh. Have it be a segue into Kait and the others looking into the Ukkon connection and the files Kait got from Hoffman about her dad. They didn’t bring up Ukkon as a throwaway line.

Then Kim, Dizzy and Bernie these immediately because we already got them in GOW 4 as well so way they are still missing in gow5 why??

Mmm I don’t care it’s an excuse they can easily find a solution put a close voice similar to original or don’t give him voice commands or they can change is voice TC already did it ruined Onyx guard voice he got Anthony carmine voice… Crazy really bad it needs to be changed… What’s the point to be an Onyx guard with carmine voice??? Nah, it wont sound the same if they change the actor. Same as when they replaced David Scully with Corey Krueger for Sergeant Johnson in Halo Wars 2. The dude did a great job, and tried his best, but you knew it wasn’t the real dude playing it.
I would just settle with the lines from Gears 1-3, like you said. They did that with Myrrah. Hoffman should make a comeback, especially since he is important to the plot of the game in certain aspects.

What are you even talking about? “Lazy decisions”? “Excuses”? TC havent said anything either way about Hoffman. All I said was that it’s very unlikely because of the voice actor’s circumstances. Yet you’re jumping to conclusions as if it’s TC’s fault.

Mostly, but they did actually record some brief new lines for both Gears 4 and 5. They didn’t record enough though and could’ve done so much better with the best voice in the game.
I’ll accept that regarding the “lazy decisions” bit. However:
These were your very first words in your response, which I took (and still take) to be a reference to Hoffman.
But more broadly on Hoffman, he’s much more iconic to the GOW universe than some other characters. To be honest as much as I’ve been a critic of TC in the past (and even present) I think TC are stuck between a rock and a hard place with Hoffman - change the voice actor and there’ll be a backlash from a fair portion of fans who are faithful to the original; and if they just leave his character out then there’ll be backlash from another portion of fans who want Hoffman back in any form. As much as I’d like Hoffman to return, I wouldn’t like a new VA.
I get that sometimes voice actors change - Jace had two different VA’s in GOW2 and GOW3; and Prescott has had a different VA for every title he’s appeared in (GOW2; GOW3; Tactics), but like I said Hoffman’s voice is more distinctive and I’ve always seen him to be a more significant character than Jace and Prescott so is much harder to replace.

I don’t like the excuse of the voice actor being un fit, I don’t care if he doesn’t say anything sometimes ya know, surely there is enough voice lines from 4 that will fit.

If you played all the campaigns you would know that Hoffman CAN fill out all the voice lines that are currently for call out purposes. When it comes to the “boo” voice line you can just replace it with the “what is this ■■■■?!?!?” Reload fail one since it works in the same manner.

I mean they can just use most of his lines from 4 and 3. Then just bring him back without call outs. I’m not in a hurry to have him added so I’m not gonna say “iT’s jUsT aN eXcUsE tHeY cAn BRinG hIm BaCk”. If he comes back he comes back if he doesn’t he doesn’t. I’d rather they make the onyx guard a separate character from Vermelo and Casan, their voices are terrible but eh, whatever.
You monster, Hoffman is the COLONEL. Him and his fried chicken kept Marcus and Dom busy during the first three games in order to end the locust war and to Survive by introducing them to tomatoes. If Prescott wasn’t hiding in his fancy McDonald’s fortress with the remaining precious Onyx guards and keeping vital intel from Hoffman and the Marcus gang, They could have caused the motion of effects to happen sooner and most likely saved dom from dying, ended the queen before she had control points in certain locations, and reunited Marcus with his father without Marcus yelling at him while he was dying from an open wound near the heart. Now in the present where Hoffman is wheelchair bound and retired, we can’t even enjoy his old man form like we can with Baird, Cole, and Marcus and it’s all because of how long it took Prescott to realize “ oh ■■■■, we just got played by the queen!” And now him and many many onyx guards are now dead, all while velémonos and casan came to be the cog gears we can play as and using new gear made for onyx guards in the present and not the past, because apparently you can’t salvage the old gear or else you’re not respecting the dead, which is now a vital thing to do in gears.
Ah yes even if he is a ■■■■:joy: I really love chairman Prescott Armored skin from gow3 really Badass!!! I remember all the blood spilled out to complete all challenges needed to unlock his skin! He should make a come back to replace useless jinn bot…

In escape mode. Just after you bust out if pods. Sometimes Mac will say ‘hoffmans a mad bustard sending us into all this’
I know it’s only a line but may have to change if he does get added.
Side note Hoffman’s in my top 3 fav characters. I would enjoy his return.
