Saying “Gained Trust” is very strong. I have very limited trust with TC as far as Gears goes. Yes, they have the “feel -ish” of Gears but it’s not what it used to be. I miss the Epic feel and I really wish it wouldn’t have been sold off.
There are some good points to Gears 4, yes, but the fact is that they messed up where certain things are concerned. They claimed to have fixed balancing problems, which they didn’t. Guns still have the same issues they did. They were focused way too heavily on E-Sports in my opinion, and they jumped on the microtransaction bandwagon instead of having unlockables. Sure, you have the coins and scrap but unless you’re grinding all the time you’re not really earning much and with the way the online mechanics are with the core modes it’s frustrating. It caused me to drop playing it for a very long time and I actually let my Gold expire because I became disillusioned with the game itself.
Now, that’s not to say that Horde is bad or even the campaign is bad. I enjoyed the story, even though they are still building the caracters, but I just felt that their focus was elsewhere and I hope that Gears 5 does better and they balance the weapons, get rid of E-Sports junk, and just focus on what made it good in the first place. TC still has a lot to learn if they think they gained trust with Gears 4.
