This will be the first Gears game I don’t 100% on the achievements. Before the re-up lowering I was reup 19 so I figured I’d get one more grindy re-up out the way, get seriously and bail as I absolutely loathe plying pvp. I think it works fine etc, i’m not a whiny gnasher person, but playing pvp for 7 gears games now… I just can’t bring myself to remotely try for another four or so years to try and get these pvp achievements, especially when my last year of playing has counted towards them so little in comparison.
The re-up drop put me to re-up 35 so I’m now thinking to push to re-up 40 to get that achievement (see how that works TC- a reasonable target to reach keeps people playing more. Had reups not lowered I’d have stopped playing next week whereas now I’m committed for at least a few more months), but even if I do I won’t be anywhere near the achievements.
Without intentionally grinding/ setting up multiple xboxes etc, these achievements are not achievable, even for top tier players - they might (just might) get enough kills, but then they won’t have the pve achievements as they sunk their time into the others, These achievements simply demonstrate how out of touch TC are with it’s playerbase.
Gears 2 got their kill achievement right in logging ALL kills in one lump sum. I think that needs to happen here, or the requirements lowered to a much more achievable level.
Think of it this way too - you can use achievements to judge a players play time on a game - see they have seriously 1.0, you know they played a fair bit of Gears MP, look at Gears 5 and you get nothing in essence as the gap is so huge. They have anywhere between 1 and 999,999 kills lol.
