UIR DLC = Easy Money?

Right… but even then, theres a pendulum wars mention in every game up to Gears 4 being the only gameplay glimpse we’ve ever got and if you don’t understand the pendulum wars by Gears 5 then its your own fault the pendulum wars is the main reason the hammer of dawn exists, leave the marketing to TC, apart from the comics TC have been the only ones to truly bring the pendulum wars to life, if anyone can do it they can.

Would it be? Usually, I would think you shoot what is trying to kill/is shooting back at you.

Exatly this.
A DLC doesn’t have to be necessarily huge to be good.
RAAM’s Shadow was just 3 hours long and I remember it as one of the best Gears experiences I ever had.

Yes, dlc to a standard of RAAM’s shadow would be glorious and I agree… short but sweet, I don’t ask for much but another locust campaign dlc as well as a pendulum wars dlc would be fantastic

Yeah I know, the only reason to choose that battle was recycle some areas.
But if was something totally from zero I want the battle of Aspho fields or the Anvil gate with different perspectives like the book

Wouldn’t even be 100% recycled as Vasgar was not a desert region at the time of the end of the Pendulum Wars and apparently even still during the first/second year of the Locust War(Tactics shows it as still having water flowing around). Why else would there have been the wrecked cargo ship near the artillery batteries? It was sunk by them as Paduk and his forces attempted to take it over.

A UIR DLC in which you fight the COG, basically win until the hammerstrikes… followed by a crazy fight for survival at Eday. Where do I sign up? But probably a lot to hope for

This could easily be a game, like the beginning of Gears 4.

It’d be good and the best part about it would be Act V: Emergence Day.

Oooh! We could also redo the classic “Locust for MP” threads, again! Exciting

This low-key looks like the ‘Power Armor’ from Fallout.

I’m with you Op,only if it can implement it in horde, making the UIR helicopter in,take out the kestrel

I would prefer, 100% prefer…
Gears of War The U.I.R. Wars.

Gears of War needs a fresh start somewhere, and where better than the U.I.R. wars, a sort of prequel to Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3. I know Gears of War Judgement was some sort of Prequel too, but that was Swarm focused, this that i am thinking about is and has nothing to do with the Swarm at all. Just East Vs West, or where ever they are from each other.

As for the details, i honestly can not say anything to that effect, just that something new needs to be done to save Gears.

I do strongly agree with you here.
The main games are extremely stale , with Escape being the only really ‘‘fresh’’ new thing of the game.
The whole Gears 5 is extremely ‘‘Skin-focused’’ , and that makes it a joke because even with multiple modes and things to do , the ‘ultimate goal’ of Gears 5 is just to make you ‘‘grind for those skins’’. …
Which sucks , because that’s basically the same policy of CoD and Fortishite and it needs to die.

I also believe that -as many others have pointed out - a full UIR Gears game would be … kind of too much. Too much everything :
Too expensive , too long to develop , too focused , a terrible financial move from TC.
They respond to Microsoft , and MS cares only about one thing and one thing only : the PROFIT.
An UIR Game would sell some , but not as much as they wanted.

A DLC on the other hand would be perfect imho : they don’t have to work onto new graphics or movement (they already have the game itself) and they also have a shitton of ready models.
A full game , even a reduced price spin-off , would be like 40 bucks , like Ultimate Edition was.
A DLC could cost like … what , 10 bucks for small , 20 bucks for huge?
I can see a lot more people opening their wallets for a DLC instead of full game.
That’s also why I went for the kinda clickbait title.

And I feel you there , I am useless at Halo too , especially after the tragedy of 343.

Have you tried Gears Tactics?
Gotta be honest , I’m kind of struggling with it because the high angle of the camera JUST ISN’T my cup of tea , but I can ensure you , the game is brilliant , in some ways even better than Gears 5.
It has a lot of the classic’s atmospheres , and it can be a lot of fun.
The artist of TC did an excellent job at this , and also COG ALMIGHTY finally a decent Gear customization. Been waiting for this since 2010.
If you find Gears 5 unsatisfying (… I would understand) , try on jumping into Tactics.
Cheers.

My name was a joke.
It was created after a bad week on Halo 3 Matchmaking, so i created a new account just so i could play from scratch and get back in to the competitive state i was once in.
Turned out, i just needed a break.

And, eventually Hale Reach came out, that was fun right up until the Community Maps dominated Matchmaking, and all them Map Packs i had bought was for nothing. I gave up on Halo then.
Halo 4 came out, ruined by that ridiculous Loadout System, then Halo 5 came out, with Spartans that played like Marines. Linda never used a Sniper, and the others never used the Weapons you asked them to pick up. Total stupidity.

My name now, just relates to how Useless at Halo 343 are now. Originally though, it was down to me having a bad week.

I have Gears tactics, but not tried it yet, i tend to only play three games at a time, and for the moment it is Civilisation Revolution, Oblivion and Star Wars Fallen Jedi. Gears Tactics, Gears 5 and Civilisation 6 are my next three games, provided i can stick to Gears 6 that is. it has never been the same for me since OP 4.

They could even do a locust vs Lambents civil war story, where the protagonist is Raam and the second player Skorge.

I agree with Halo Zero 122, there should be a UIR perspective of the Locust War. Probably with General Karn invading Gorasnaya. It would show Major Paduk and UIR soldiers or officers fighting off Locust forces but ultimately losing since Karn literally destroys the UIR.

I completely agree with you, I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the amount of attention TC has given to the UIR. And technically speaking, it is true that (partially indirectly) the UIR is mentioned in every game. But for all we know, Aspho Fields just sounded cool to them and afterwards they added a story to it. It might as well have been intentioned as another COG-Locust battle, rather than being part of a human conflict.

Could be possible as a spin off attached to gears 5 (or 6), like exemple did Bethesda with Wolfenstein Old Blood, for cheaper cause u only have solo.

Already I’m waiting, and pretty hype for the Hivebuster Dlc. Then we will see how they did it !!

Agreed.
Hivebusters will be the turning point of Gears 5 IMHO.
I could tell from it if Gears 5 still has potential to redeem itself or will always be remembered as TC’s greatest failure.
See , I don’t like to call Gears 5 a failure because IMHO the Movement is just bliss , it’s so smooth and well animated.
My biggest problem with it is undoubtly the Campaign , I despise Kait Diaz and her whole pointless arc.
From my point of view , if the Hivebusters Campaign will be good , THAT will be Gears 5’s Campaign and I will pretend the whole “Case Diaz” never happened.

I see a lot of you speculating about Gears 6.
I’m sorry guys , but I believe that Gears 6 is still years away …
And it should be .
It takes time to build a good game , and if you rush it , It OBLIVIOUSLY will launch crap and will require post launch content to be fixed.
Remember how Gears 3 was postponed a couple times? Time well spent , in my opinion.

Personally I really liked the campaign, the only negative point is like they should have add an act between m’ont Kader and Vasgar, with JD and Fahz (non open work).

For one to see the Mea Culpa and redemption of Jd, and for 2, make break of 2 consecutive semi open world act. Cause I liked the semi open world, but it was too much in once. A break in the middle would have been perfect and I guess could have been a better campaign than the 2nd one. (On my taste of course)

So why despise her? Personally, I loved the campaign. It haves some lose threats that they should have finished up, such as the event at Settlement 2 that led to Del wanting to leave the COG. For something that was already hyped in Gears 4, it’s weird we never get to see any of it and thus never get a proper impression about why it has been so impactful on so many people. But in general the story was nicely made. I really enjoyed it.

And yes, I agree with you that Gears 6 should still be years away. Gears 5 still needs better fleshing out and I believe the game still has a lot of potential for new content. In my opinion they should have delayed Gears5 by half a year to ensure it to have as few bugs as possible, because at launch it was just absolutely terrible.
But I think it’s fair to say that the live span will probably be not much longer than three years. Eventually, a game becomes ‘too old’ for most and a new boost would only work with a sequel. But I do hope it’s going to take at least four or five years in total.
