I bought them too and I don’t feel “ripped off” either, I knew what I was getting and I knew the price. No big deal for me, I love this franchise and I’m glad it exists today. There is a reason Epic games sold this years ago.
Nobody is forcing anyone to buy these skins, they are completely optional and frankly I would rather buy something like this from time to time to support my favorite game than spend money on other overpriced garbage like overpriced coffee, etc.
better to buy a starbucks coffee and chat with a girl , than to pay for a expensive skin that doesn’t give you any additional amount of skill in the game.

Chrissake, if any DLC has anything to add to gameplay suddenly it’s “Pay to Win”.
You don’t have to spend a penny, you can easily earn Microsoft rewards points over time and redeem for cash on your account and get Iron that way.
Hey, would be awesome if everything was free, don’t get me wrong…but it’s business, without any MTX in this game, it may not even exist in its current form. Market is different today, these live service type games need constant revenue streams for continued support and updates and many developers have spoken about this. Not saying it’s ideal or perfect, but personally it doesn’t bother me in its current form and many other games don’t even give you options to earn stuff through gameplay, at least I see TC trying to find a compromise between both.
To each his own though, that’s just my 2 cents, you do what you want with your time and money. Peace.
Im all for MTX’s when it supports the game post launch. But splitting up skins, trying to sell executions that are free with other weapons, charging $45-$72 for a complete weapon skin set. this aint it man. I true do wanna support this franchise but I cant with these practices
I definitely think it could use some tweaking. Personally I would like to see more interesting stuff added for free and/or earned through gameplay. And for the stuff in the store, it should be more interesting and unique overall, not something that seems cheap like just your regular desert camo skin for example that we’ve seen in countless games…some stuff I liked but a lot of other stuff I passed on right away, the store content is a mixed bag for me overall.
My favorite unlockable so far was earned free actually, when I finished the Horde Dark Fate event on Insane, one of the rewards was a very cool mark.

Hey, I love latte as well and do indulge in that from time to time. In hindsight, I could have phrased that better… the point I Was trying to make is that it’s very easy to get ripped off daily in every day stuff you buy all the time, so you have to be careful with your spending overall in your daily lifestyle as well or it adds up every month. Peace out.

The game has been out for 2 months more or less and i have a feeling there have been as much stuff in the store to buy than actual in game skins that came with the game.
Its indeed way too aggressive, even if its not lootboxe base. Now giving part of a set as a reward for playing while selling the rest is actually just the way to play the OCD peoples and have them buy the rest.
But at that point really its a loss cause, they will milk the hell out of Gears. They pretty much use this game as a free to play, they hope that tons of peoples who play it for “free” (gamepass) will get addicted enough to spend on the microtransactions while the big Gears fans who paid 60$ will ALSO pay tons of microtransactions cause they are fan, pretty much being a win/win for them
Yeah. It truly sucks in that aspect. I just use my Microsoft point to get things I want.
