Yeah, for me it was like: ā€œwe had little sad moment in overall happy ending, what we gonna do next? … oh, Locust symbol… Anyway, we killed her mother, some tears dropped, we killed that large ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  with large robot earlier, thats all, go home, hang amulet on wall.ā€

I did not felt curious enough to care what happens next, it was kind of meh. It had emotions, I can’t deny that, but it wasnt so strong and disturbing like Epic did in Gow 1 and 2. Then you knew that after lightmass bombing you pissed of the queen, so she would at least try to get her revenge on humans, after flooding Nexus you will have to deal with lambency on surface, it was expected in some ways. There wasnt any info indicating of some big events will happen, something worth waiting.

Hivebusters has better ending than 4 and 5, but it still lacks of something that will indicate something big will happen.

Totally agree. I have fond memories of certain parts of 1-3 and judgment, but I just don’t feel that way with 4-5. Judgment had its issues, but I really enjoyed overrun and the campaign was much better than 5’s campaign. The ā€œonlyā€ part that was memorable in these later games was when Marcus was captured by the snatcher & later found lifeless in the pod. The way his character model looked, that first time I saw it, i thought ā€œthey just killed Marcus.ā€ Other than that… nothing really got me or made me feel anything.

It was okay but I thought it ended too soon, Needed a couple more chapters to make use of the upgrades and it would be cool if the final chapter was an ā€˜Escape’ like mission more thrilling than the usual Escape maps we have now, but nope it just ends and tells you to go play Escape mode… I didn’t like that, I’m glad I didn’t pay for it.

Judgement definitely has the worst story of all the mainline Gears games. Tactics, maybe, too since the writing is so utterly cheesy and pretty 2 demensional in it but Tactics is a pretty good game overall.

5 has its own weaknesses but I thought it struck a good balance of humour vs drama which both 3 and especially 4 failed to do. And I think it delivered on brining some moral complexity and depth from the books that both 3 and 4 failed to do.

I just find it funny that the entire campaign is the decent old Mac face and then at the end you unlock his costume and it’s new ugly bee-muncher Mac face.

You’re sure? It looked like the ā€œnewā€ face to me in cutscenes but less terrible because well, it’s not stuck with a facial expression that makes it look awful.

I definitely enjoyed it… had to switch back to default settings though cause abilities weren’t triggering lol, but used to that had to do it for reg campaign too cause the Jack abilities(the ones you point, ala flash) were figity on classic alt… but minor thing.

I have to redo chapter 6 of course cause I didn’t get the skins smh… granted I plan on replaying the whole thing at least 2 more times to go through it as each member, predicted there would be an achievement for doing, technically there’s not, but there sorta is, cause of the achievements for doing there abilities so many times AS that person… plus I have 5 more collectibles to get… much like I did with the original campaign I wanted to see how many I can find on my own, then use a guide on replay for the ones I missed… which I missed 5 collectibles and 2 ability upgrades, not bad I guess

Finished it earlier, albeit a bit short and could’ve definitely been dragged out more it was a fantastically interesting DLC

Visually amazing too

I see your TB Hana skin and a raise you a scientist Coletrain skin

Dad Cole would be fun too I guess.

If an experience feels too short it means they made it right

good content makes you want more, bad content makes you never want to experience it again lol.

Not necessarily. I liked it, but I did feel it moved a little too quickly, primarily towards the end.

Also, Lizzie died again. RIP.

Play it all in one sitting if you don’t want to lose progress. I’m all the way at the beginning of Sanctum and lost my progress. No collectibles or upgrades, my weapons reset, and instead of Lahni my character is set to Mac once the game reloads., Stats says 0% completed, I’m on Incon, ffs! Just got to the part right after the elevator cable (going into the Hive not the escaping portion). I died to the stupid Aimbotting Hunters who shot me behind the pillar and sent me back all the way to the elevator hall with the armory. Now I’m at the OUTSIDE door to Sanctum

Classic update bugs.

Disclaimer: the dlc itself is fun but…wow.
