I’m not big on exclusives or hoarding things from others. What I am big on is not being lied to. They’ve said time and time again, (can somebody bring up one of the vids just as evidence?) that this would never happen, and yet here we are. I’m a man of my word, so I have to believe even (at least some!) of the people at TC values their own word too. For them to go back on their word just tells me things may be more dire than we were aware of. Perhaps there’s some credence to those low player number stats after the update people have been reporting. Now it looks like they’re reaching for the small subset of people who were turned off to Gears 5 by the fact that some people had unattainable exclusives. They’re hoping doing an about face on that stance will lure these people in. Alot of these folks are likely the same people who haven’t spent a dime on the game, as opposed to the loyalty customers being the ones who’ve pumped money into it, yet still they’re desperate to bring these people in to boost stats. This smacks of desperation. I bet we’ll never get an answer even if anyone calls them out on this in the next stream. I mean, how can you explain that you’re a damn liar with a straight face? Likely, they’ll just never address it. Oh, and now that Black Phantoms are up for grabs you better believe everything else will come next.
No one is forcing you to play ranked. Find a squad of equal skill-level and play custom lobbies.

It’s not even about that for me… yea it sucks to grind for stuff then other people get it a much better way later… take for instance me hating PVE, so I bought Desert JD and Desert Del in Op 4… not fair to those that grinded those Horde and Escape medals in Op 1 that I had 0 desire to do. Same time though, there’s already been others that I did grind for that new players got way easier… but again that stuff isn’t an issue for me, it sucks, but everyone should have the chance to enjoy stuff.
HOWEVER what I have a problem with, is being lied to. If you set EXCLUSIVES then keep them exclusive, otherwise call them early access. The road to Gears 5 Challenge skins Dana specifically said on stream would never be put into the store just like tbe general rewards… big fat lie. Like you said probably not HIS fault, but it’s still the fact of them making him a liar because of it.
