Do we really know how Myrrah would interact with a descendant of hers who turned her back to the Swarm/Locust because they caused nothing but pain and suffering since coming into Kait’s life?
What I’ll say is regarding Reyna, we don’t know enough about the swarm (Not like the locust) to even pass a judgment on how they completely work…
Honestly, I might be the minority here, but I don’t care for that, Marcus had a son… Not a daughter…
And I like JD more than Kait.

They could just go the telltale route and have you redo the selection at the beginning of the game and just go off that. I highly doubt they’ll just kill off the other character that’s just lazy story writing.

Been saying they should make Kait queen. Come full circle.
Then we can have Marcus again.
Maybe have Marcus die saving his son & play as his son. But develop it like 2-4 games.
Because I want a full game of Reyna as queen.
Hopefully TC doesn’t go the route of like “it’s was a dream” or preminition. Like it never happened kinda deal. That’s the only thing that bugs me about 5. Multiple ending, TC needs to keep it simple because complexity is not there strong point.
Maybe few years later Gears of War 4 will be released but not by TC!

You know kait isn’t a bad protagonist at all. She certainly shouldn’t have been the protagonist in my opinion I think it should’ve been J.D. it makes no sense to switch up your protagonist (you know other than to appeal to the sjws who want a female protag) after ONE game. But over all kait is a fine character. The dynamic between her and del was cute I guess but it’s not like she ruins the whole story (T.C. did that OoHoHO- no). I just hope T.C. remains consistent with the damn thing next game.

Seems I’m late to this discussion but no matter.
Reyna died at the end of Gears of War 4. Perished. Gone. Her remains were preserved in Swarm matter and it wasn’t until Niles tricked Kait into connecting with the Matriarch that the location of her body was revealed to her Mother, and the true Queen, Myrrah.
Due to Kait’s pathetic insolence and refusal to submit to her heritage, Queen Myrrah possessed what remained of Reyna’s body and had it mutates to ensure she could be physically present to lead her children once again.
You may see and partially hear Reyna, but if you watch her physical movements and listen to her words…it’s blatantly obvious that it’s none other than Myrrah herself.

I’m a Kait Stan, but my god was this was a garbage line.
Like legit, this line made her come off as selfish and vain.
And a lot of people’s first impression of the game came from this standout line in the trailer.
And don’t even get me started on the Billie Ellish ■■■■.
Who the ■■■■ is this game supposed to be marketed towards? With overzealous lines like that and Billie eyelash blaring in the background in another trailer.
But context is everything, Kait just killed Oscar, and didn’t want to kill or hurt anyone else. So yeah, the things in her head were about her and not JD
But hey! At least it’s meme tier now.

Exactly what I was thinking. When the Queen starts talking to Kait about how she failed them, she sounds like a cross between Myrrah and Reyna. I also thought it was obvious that it was Myrrah talking through Reyna’s body. She even says something like “we are one living being. Connected.”.

Family is family and that’s all that matters, I just don’t see the closure there, Marcus Fenix war hero of the Pendulum Wars, E-Day and the Lambent Pandemic settles down to start a family only for them all to die and then end his retirement baby-sitting his adopted daughter kait diaz in the swarm conflict…
And we thought the Carmine family had rotten luck…

No one said Gears was about happy romances and flower fields, did they?
But I also never claimed to know how Marcus would react to JD also dying… well, after the Swarm assault on New Ephyra. But he clearly does care for Kait to some degree.

My whole problem is that they give no explanation in the actual game, so even if they make sense, all these reasons we’re coming up with are pure speculation. So we don’t actually know.

Apparently so.
I actually liked the idea of Kait being the heir and all this miniplot of her inner fight between being the next queen or stay loyal to her humanity. However it was super rushed and practically forgotten after the kadar lab arc. I have no problems with Kait as a protagonist tbh, it was in gears 4 that i didnt like her because of how childish and annoying at times she was. But she is fine in gears 5.
Have to agree with the others in here, by the way she moved an spoke, swarm reyna was just myrrah. Guessing this is how it works, her mind is still alive in the swarm, and the “actual queen” is just a vessel for that mind.
And for the open world part… I kinda liked it, specially on vasgar. Always wanted to be in or at least experience how the UIR looked since judgement. Soo all those bases, the rocket asylum, and the abandoned towns blew my mind with joy lol. The kadar map was boring tho, i agree.

I’m sure it was Del who died, because since GOW 4 the character that most evolved was JD, it would be a waste to kill him suddenly.
And not to mention that it is quite obvious that Marcus is going to die in Gears 6, there is no way for him to continue in the franchise until the end, and with his death JD will “become the new Fenix”.
Regarding Myrrah, I have no doubt that she was reincarnated in the body of a descendant, after all, when Reyna was in “control” she resisted as long as she could, the new Reyna wants to kill everyone and doesn’t care.
