I looked at the MS Store reviews of the game from 5 countries, and below are the results…
I looked through the comments and it seems like MOST (not all ) positive comments were about the campaign, story, and graphics… There were some who liked the new Versus, but to be fair most of the negative reviews and comments were about the Versus experience…
So there is SOME audience for this game, in its launch/current format… But clearly it’s not the Versus audience…
Gears 6 = coalition giving up on a whiny multiplayer audience then somehow succeeding twice as hard as ever XD. I used to only play gears for multiplayer but man is escape really fun!
I played a few games of escape, and it’s an interesting new concept… My main problem with it is the same as with Horde in general (and I used to play a LOT of horde before getting into versus), once you increase the difficulty levels the health/damage ratios get insane between players and enemies, and it’s just not fun - you can’t have any actual combat, you are just hiding and avoiding fighting most of the time…
If it was a ‘sneak your way through a hive’ thing, ok, but it’s supposed to be ‘run at top speed to stay ahead of the venom’, so it’s… I donno…
it’s a good addition to the game, for sure, but like Arcade, just not fun for me on a long term basis… But as always YMMV
Theres simply not many playing at the moment on verses or horde…its a sad but simple fact…this cod/fortnite type game simply wasn’t going to be supported long term…its a shadow of what it should be.
It was already confirmed by Ryan that the game population, while not quite where they want it to be, is fine and in the tens of thousands. Watch the dev streams.
Hopefully with Operation 2 there will be a spike to further increase it but this idea that the game is “dead” or that nobody is playing, is all made up.
Thats fine link…i admire how you try to support what there doing…but its simply not possible to support those numbers…when peeps cant find games…public horde almost never starts with a full team…dont hold your breath in them reviving this game…im not a hater…but they released a mess…that simply aint gears…no getting away from that.
Thanks but I’m not trying to support anything I’m literally just relaying information provided by the dev. This notion that the game is dead ia simply not true.
I like you play gears of war mainly for pvp. I think escape is fun but at the same time I think it’s only at the early stages of what it could be. I think they will develop it and the version of it in gears 6 will be very different. I personally see it as a novelty game mode but I can see why people would like it and play it alot
“Review bombing is a joke”… Yes you are right and the thousands of fake reviews submitted to Metacritic are a joke too!
I have seen you defend this game on these forums for the last 3 months, literally every comment you post is about how great the game is and what a great future it has, how there are tens of thousands of loyal players still enjoying the game, and how the Devs are listening to the community and fixing ranked and making things work perfectly…
I really am amazed at how delusional you must be… Gears 5 is very nearly a dead game, if you continue to say the opposite when the facts speak for themselves, then you are clearly in denial. The game has been hemorrhaging players since it came out… If it were a human it would have died already! The playerbase has literally gone, escape is bland at best, horde is ok but not enough maps or players anymore, and ranked is totally broken, even the “fix” didn’t work. The game is literally on life support at this time, and everything is counting on what they bring out for Operation 2. If it is filled with more ridiculously grinding of boring repetitive modes that people don’t want to be forced to play just to unlock a character, then the game will die completely. If these promised 200 new items end up with majority of it being completely useless banners/bloodsprays/marks then the game will die completely. If they bring out one new map and three gears 4 maps it will die.
You’ll notice the only consistent thing that has worked from day one without any issues is the ridiculously overpriced store. The soul of the game has literally been sucked out of it by microtransactions. The game is absolutely full of them! And it’s this greed, coupled with hardly any maps and being forced to play modes you don’t want to and characters you don’t want to that has pushed 80% of playerbase away already.
You can deny all of this if you like, and from your posts over the last months on here, I fully expect you to do just that. Literally everything is hanging on Operation 2… If its similar to Operation 1 and hardly any new content, aside from that locked behind paywalls, the game will be finished. Metacritic cannot be trusted anymore, it is full of fake reviews.
Yup, as did you! Such extremes on these forums, its super rare to find someone with an actual balanced, even keel view on things. If you actually paid attention to my posts, you’d see I’ve been plenty critical of this game and TC, but I’m also able to give credit when it’s due and view things in a balanced manner. Unfortunately anything remotely positive around here is met with backlash by people like you. I mean just look at your post. It’s ridiculously exaggerated. Whereas, I literally just relayed info that was provided directly by Ryan during a live stream. If that upsets or triggers you, well then clearly that’s your issue bro.
Hard to take most people seriously when they act this way and unfortunately you fall into that same category.
So stating facts about the playerbase and what’s pushed them all away, and facts around the overpriced store and facts about the lack of content in the game… These are all exaggerations that can’t be taken seriously are they???
Its typical of someone who can’t accept any criticism of their beloved game, that their only defence is to try and turn the argument back on the original poster without offering any conclusive reasoning behind that… What did I do as you expected?? Did I tell the truth about this game, and state several facts…
“literally every comment you post is about how great the game is and what a great future it has”
“how there are tens of thousands of loyal players still enjoying the game, and how the Devs are listening to the community and fixing ranked and making things work perfectly…”
“Nearly dead game”
"If it were a human it would have died already! "
“The playerbase has literally gone”
“The game is literally on life support at this time”
“You’ll notice the only consistent thing that has worked from day one without any issues is the ridiculously overpriced store.”
“The soul of the game has literally been sucked out of it by microtransactions.”
This is what you call exaggeration and delusion at its finest.
