I thought quickplay was just a casual non-serious game mode where you’re going in and playing against other players (who should never be bots imo). To me the current state fills those purposes perfectly.

Like what exactly are you playing for? What’s on the line? The other team should know that you’re down a man and unlikely to win because of it. Ego shouldn’t even be a factor. And the ranking system doesn’t care because it doesn’t apply.

Sometimes it’s actually fun to be down a man because it’s more of a challenge but that’s beside the point I suppose.

one way or another, gears has always had annoying things with multiplayer aside from gears 3 and that is why so many loved that game

Agreed. Many times we were down a man and the other team just didn’t care and would destroy us other times we’ve beaten the other team because they were just awful. It kinda baffles me though when a 4 stack plays quick play just to pub stomp, but that’s not always the case, I’m always up for the challenge

yeah i know what you mean by playing coop vs ai instead of 1v3 koth, but many times you don’t want to play vs AI , you wanna play against real people, it’s quite crazy such change was done

Bots are so annoying, don’t want them back personally, but unfortunately with how few people are playing the game they kind of are necessary at times.

True Skill MM??? Why would anyone want that? And if there was skill based matchmaking in Quickplay, what would be the point in having ranked?

I agree with OP, Ranked is Ranked, and QP is QP, they don’t NEED to have matching settings. QP is to hop in and out and shoot people for a good time, it does not need to play like a ranked match. 5v5 or 4v4 works, but bots need to return. The amount of quitters in QP (which is acceptable considering that’s the point of quickplay), teams need the bots to give that team a standing chance at winning, or even just to stay afloat. Were bots annoying? Sure! Then the solution is to nerf them slightly, not remove them. This game, sadly, isn’t as populated as it needs to be to survive without bot backfilling. Sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes the rest of the match for 1 person to join in and fill that slot. The amount of games I’ve had that ended due to the other team quitting is absurd since the launch of Op 5.

Social KOTH sucks so hard that I only play ranked to ensure I get a 4 v 4 match.
We need bots for KOTH, leave TMD alone without bots.

No, 4 stacks play quick play because their only option in ranked is KOTH.

That’s not true at all. I for one love the beta tuning and can’t wait for it to be added to the full game. I’ve also talked to a few people/friends and they say they barely play now, but will once the current beta tuning is added.

When did you try the beta tuning tho… As I played the other night and it is noticeably sped up from where it was a few weeks ago.

I couldn’t stand how slow it was before but now I don’t mind the general speed. Weapon switching still felt slow but the actual speed of the player movements have been increased inside the beta.

Yeah the tuning now is incredibly similar made me think they’ve forgot to add it into the playlist or something

Just had a game devolve all the way down to a 1v1 due to quitting and no proper backfill.

It has ruined KOTH quickplay for me personally.

4v3 at start of match and slowly down to a 2v2 and then a 1v1.

It isn’t fun.

This is worst.

Put 5v5 with backfilling back. Nowhere were people even speaking of wanting a change like this.
