To state your opinion is more important than anyone elses for whatever reason is a quick way to have noone take you seriously.
Guys a joke

It is a big increase in speed though. If you tested the original speed you could only mmove to a single block in about a second. Now with this movement speed you can move past 3 blocks in a second. It has to deal with range of movement covered based upon speed.

I’d take pro’s more seriously if they coudl at least identify the problem they are having correctly.
They cant hit stuff. That’s a hit detection/shooting issue, not an issue of the faster movement.
But NOOO, lets spam for a revert to the movement chnages as thinking logically is too hard.

Until the pro’s actually complain about the many aspects of the game that ARE broken (cough, wrapshot, cough) why should anyone pay attention to what they say?

Hi @Ik_Haat_Smurfen right now blocking on SFV its easy and definetely you could get a combo in high or mid air and don’t let you hit the ground if you’re not skilled enough.

Same thing happens on MK11 , however once you got the combos perfectly on tune, the game its really balanced without a doubt.

They get payed to play the game, you do not. Who are people going to listen to the most, you, or the Pro.
I got a brilliant idea, let The Coalition decide which is best, after all, they did make a killer game.
A game that killed the player base. Perfect !!!

With or without the “pros” i wouldn’t call the game fine.

Everybody is a pro in gears 5 if they have a good game

How can you be a professional in a game that nobody watches on Twitch (usually between 120-170 place), or for that matter interests anybody excluding small majority of people with a community not counting more then 5000 people worldwide?

To be fair games like CSGO and League are HEAVILY influenced by the pros gameplay wise and are extremely successful, whenever a new champion is released they usually release it OP so people have a reason to buy it and then use feedback from top players to balance it out. A game that’s tuned for a good competitive experience benefits everyone.

Listen, if you support pros that is fine. This isnt a us vs them thread. It’s more so the attitude surrounding the few I’ve seen acting extremely entitled. I am not saying that Pros do not in some cases drive interest in games. You can look no further than the big name streamers that have legions behind them because they like them and I am sure it is no different with professional players. However my last blip is that games are fine with or without. The industry built itself to what it is without the help of anyone except the devs who continued to push innovation and passion behind all the games over the years. My point is that the attitude is extremely toxic and has no place in any community. Pro / not pro the game has issues and they need to be fixed. It needs to be an enjoyable experience and TC needs to walk that fine line is the bottom line.

All of the pros hated SFV, they all said it was a casual game that had no skill ceiling at all…now where have I heard that happening to a game in the past 6 moths lol.

I tell you man its the curse of the 5th game in the franchise, Halo,SF and now gears.

I agree on the attitude part but the main problem about what you said about the industry to me is that all the devs that had love and passion for gears are gone all the people that cared about the game and looked for innovation and ways to improve have all moved on, the entire industry built up around gears is on its last leg and it feels like the devs aren’t really trying to do anything about it

I agree with you. The game is in a bad way and that makes me nervous about the future of this franchise. It does seem soulless and they are just going through the motions. The more I hear from Rod Fergusson the more I wonder if he is the problem. Most of his talking points seem to be looking for good will points and all the good will in the world is not going to save this franchise. Inclusion is good, accessibility is good as long as the spirit of the game is at the base. But to me it seems hes just more interested in talking about how revolutionary he is in terms of Gears 5 and it’s more of a pat himself on the back each article I see him speaking.

It’s a sad state of affairs and I think we can all agree on this game desperately needs to be in a better state. What makes me uneasy is Microsoft is not going to let an IP like gears die. It was easily one of thier top IP’s they will cut everyone out before they allow it to die but god only knows who the hell they would bring in and it could be worse than what we have now so yea a little unsettling for the franchise’s future.

It’s quite crazy indeed how some “pros” are behaving indeed

You have no clue if this is your interpretation of what they’re saying.

The lack of self awareness in this thread from casuals is astounding.
Like they know more about the game then people who are actually good at it.

No good games are balanced around bad players so I don’t know why everyone here thinks the game should be balanced around Quickmatch and arcade games

Well that’s a dumb assumption to make. Also since we are going to toss salt around how dumb do you have to be to think you know more about the systems than the people who developed it? Like I said earlier you want to support pros views. That’s fine, that is your prerogative. However your attitude off the top is just as ignorant as the narrative being pushed by other bone heads so your individual opinion is clearly biased. There are some twitter posts you can go tell them how great they are. You wont get any sympathy from me acting high and mighty but if you are willing to step off the pedestal and have a conversation this thread is here for that.

Probably the dumbest thing I’ve read in my life.

In the real world, not the fantasy bubble some of those guys live in, if the pros were to get “Thanos’d”, the game would still be in the current state as it is now because the average player would still be populating the game and spending cash in the store and hardly any of them would bat an eye. If it would be the reverse however, the game wouldn’t survive without the average player/community.

Dude should seriously lay off the crack.
