What if it’s Carmine as Onyx Guard…? Or it’s just next generation Onyx Guard.
Dont worry, TC probably will put two Onyx Guard variations, original Onyx Guard and Jinx era Onyx Guard (i dont know how to name it)

This one is ok for now but I definitely want the classic Onyx Guard back because everything looked even on all sides of his armor and helmet while here he’s got that dumb wrist watch on one side and a gauntlet on the other and it looks dumb IMO.
The lights are cool, everything else is terrible.

His big badass deep voice outmatches every Carmine out there. Yes , I said EVERY.
I wished Brian Bloom (the original male Onyx Guard voice) was the one to voice Clayton instead since his delivery would work perfectly for him even though the original voice for the Carmine bros (except Gary) was good for Clayton since he deepened it for him.
That is not gonna happen. TC is making their own Gears. Just look at the crappy Locust we got without any neck in the current game.
In the tech test trailer around 1:13 when the onyx guard dies it sounds like Carmines voice. Maybe a placeholder? Perhaps a new Carmine? Remains to be seen.
The gauntlet is an up-armored version of Del’s forearm attachment.

Don’t really care what assets they took that piece from since I think that part of the design is unappealing on the new Onyx Guard.
The gauntlet is literally copy pasted from the Gears 3 Onyx Guard.
For that matter, most of the new design is the same as the Gears 3 design. They’ve just made a better rigged model that has less clipping. The changes to the model are mainly in the helmet, stomach, and the backplate.
The bare left forearm might look bad to you, but that’s fine. You don’t have to like it.
Late comment but I prefer the old one especially the voice. The new one just reuses the GOW4-5 generic Cog Gear voice and not the badass old one. The old model looked better anyway.
