It’s 2020… randomly thought I’d host a game on Gears 1, waited about 15 minutes and the game started to fill up. Ended up with a full lobby of random people, i don’t know any of them and I’m not a big streamer or anything but I got two full games of different people.

I’ve played more of Gears 1 just this evening than I have Gears 5 in 2 months.

I’ll probably be hosting in the evening sometimes (currently am) again, I’m from the UK so you might not be able to find the match if you’re from somewhere else. Most fun ive had in ages on Gears.

Also host pistol is insane.

So I started hosting a lobby at 7pm UK time… it’s now 3am… I just played Gears 1 for eight hours straight… I don’t think I’ve done that since 2010 when I was 14. It’s actually crazy how much fun that was and it reminded me why I liked Gears of War. No stupid unlocks or grinding, ranking system or hero system, just the option to host a game on any map you want and play with 14 great characters and have fun. Also didn’t have to kick a single person and most people had mics, meaning people actually talked for once unlike the lifeless lobby’s in Gears 5.

Although I have to say after eight hours I remembered how obnoxious the active snipe and two piece were, only time I got a little annoyed but otherwise probably the best time I’ve had on Gears since Gears 3 release. I noticed a lot of Americans in the lobby too, they didn’t really lag which was surprising. Just sad how I was the only one hosting a lobby and I haven’t seen anyone else hosting for years, hope I can host another soon and it will be filled for eight hours again.

Yea GoW1 always somewhat active. Used to hop on whenever I was bored before UE came out. GoW1 was classic no other Gears game comes close to how raw and simple it was. No gimmicks, no side BS

Same,

I by far had the best connection back in those days, especially for my UK/EU friends and many people would say it’s “like host” on there.

I did like it too without host as a small delay helped for sure.

Back in those days I had the best internet out of almost anybody on Xbox Live so people who played in games I hosted always had a smooth experience.

I think that @o_F_3_R_R_3_T_o its only missing THE BIG MAC, sine on GOW 1 UE in nowhere to be found.

other than that yes I agree that game its beautiful .

I’m trash at Gears 1 VS and my eyes hurt lookin at it but it still stays on my hard drive. Might hop on sometime.

I went on gears 2 tonight and my god it was so good and so much fun, the gibbing was amazing, the sounds of the Gnasher / lancer and the squelching of corpses as you walk over them it was incredible, the headshots where the corpse stands still for a few seconds with blood p****** out of it was incredible, think I’ll be playing gears 2 for a while now and leave gears 5 for the time being. And the bonus thing is the lobbies are more reliable than the current gears 5 ones, I think that’s crazy
