The Gears Pop Community needs more help from The Coalition / MediaTonic

Sorry if this has been answered, but does TC actually devolop any part of POP, I thought it was only MediaTonic?

We work with them, it’s a lot of moving parts.

In regards to this… what of when people inquire on if updates are available every now and then, let’s say, 3-7 days or a few weeks after something has been reported as known to TC but nothing transpired? Sometimes, I find issues are reported and known but not necessarily followed up on with an update for quite a while when they persist, not that any recent examples come to mind right now.

Just asking for clarity. Had something else in mind relating to this but it slipped my mind as I was typing. You’d think memory wouldn’t be short lived at my young age.

Enquiring every few days on something is different.

I do specifically mean that, for example, if I saw myself tagged daily in the same topic thread for the same thing that has already been addressed to the best of my current knowledge, and especially because the current answer was unsatisfactory, that is a swift method of telling me that you will not be respecting the guidelines of the forums or my time.

I’m going to assume you mean this specific thread and/or some people getting impatient about the Gears 4 achievements and/or Gears UE issues.

But I did try to somewhat make the point clear that when there is no updates to give and that’s been made clear… then pushing on it won’t make things go any faster. @Lambent_Lail definitely articulated it better and in greater detail, though, so I’ll happily pass the trophy on that way, so to speak.

If you had messaged Support, you would have gotten the message I just sent here - it’s being looked at.
And as I can see in this thread, people have messaged Support and gotten that message.

So yes, tickets were working, The answer was just unsatisfactory to many,

I get that it’s frustrating, and I get you want immediate results. Unfortunately, that cannot happen with the moving parts involved, and until more is known at times.

“Getting Stricter” is not an excuse for harassment.

Thanks for the answer TC Sera :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m a crew leader and now I can tell my crew about this. I have a mixture of players (from Trueachievements, Gears fans and casual players who plays only free games) so I appreciate your time to write an answer (I wrote 1 or 2 support tickets without getting an answer, but with this I can forget about them).

Glad to hear it.
We’ll message out details when we have more, but we just don’t have more at this time.

Thank you for responding

I hope you appreciate how frustrating radio silence has been for us all

At this point if you could even just schedule a weekly update into this thread - even if that update is exactly the same as what you just said - then it would actually feel like we were being considered.

People have sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into this game, including me. That is why we are frustrated and that is why a formal response of any kind is appreciated.

I am not going to schedule weekly updates to this thread, simply because when there is news, it will be shared.

As for radio silence - there were responses through Support. Just because it was unsatisfactory doesn’t make it any less true.

All I did was say it again.

I wouldn’t call it ‘crushed’, but I’ll give that if you are using a translator, it may have meant something else.

But yes, usually, only the MP is sunset, not the whole game, so this is new for all involved.

Just registered to add my comments that I hope something can be done. I have been playing since Day 1 and seen the game through all its phases of squeezing people for money. The meta changes to encourage pin purchases etc. I know that was MediaTonic and not TC, but it would be a great help to help people unlock last achievements before the servers go down.

I think this is a case of perspective creates the reality for each individual/side of the conversation here.

From TC’s perspective:
The server closure announcement came about 2 weeks before the Series X|S launch, and campaign updates for both G5 & Tactics (this week). TC just got the Flaming & Midnight Omen skins to be craftable in G4 for those who missed doing the events originally. Next week sees OP5 launch with a massive PVE change (thank you TC!!). Sometime next month the Hivebusters DLC for G5 launches. And then there are all of the end of the year holidays which probably means G5 holiday themed events. So yes, TC has been and will continue to be putting in a ton of work for the next month and a half at least. If TC can work out a plan for Pop in January, that will give them up to 3 months to get it implemented, which should be ok since OP6 probably won’t launch until mid/late March. For TC, plenty of time.

But from the players/community perspective:
The server closure was announced over 2 weeks ago. The change to daily/weekly bounties will let us earn about 6% of the total coins needed if we complete every single one until the day the servers go down. If we have to wait until January to get any idea what else can/might/will be done, we will have to take guesses as that is almost half of the time we have left before the closures. Do we risk wasting time grinding all day, every day in case there is only a small adjustment and hope to get pleasantly surprised with a big adjustment that will help everyone out? Or do we risk squandering our time, expecting a big adjustment that will help everyone, and hope we don’t get a small adjustment that forces us to try to make up for the time we squandered? For the players/community, do we keep grinding Pop, or do we get to start enjoying all of the updates for G5 & Tactics?

I know discussions are still going on behind the scenes, but it would be awesome if we had some idea of what kind of target point we’re aiming for, something like an ‘at a minimum, here’s what we should expect’. For example, if the ‘at a minimum’ would be enough for anyone who is at least player level 15 with a pin that is 75% of max, then most folks level 16 and above can breath easier, while those level 14 and below have a more realistic goal to get to in the next 4-5 months.

I really want to start enjoying the updates to Tactics & G5. But I worry that I need to keep devoting all of my free time to Pop to have any chance at even knocking out the max pin achievement, just in case no adjustments are made. And hope that adjustment(s) are made that will be enough to satisfy the max player level achievement.

Because of all of the other priorities TC has right now, which you’ve listed very comprehensively, they have not even thought about something like this.

I’m optimistic that TC will do something considering the uproar that has come, the time left to do something, the recent “good will” update to Gears 4 finally coming with the weapon skins achievement, and, finally and most importantly, the fact that they did exactly what needed to be done for @GhostofDelta2. If they do it for him, they can do it for everyone and just need to figure out the path to get there.

I have absolutely no way of knowing what I’m about to say is true or not, but everyone needs to just chill out a bit, be patient, and let TC work the problem that they know exists, because I really do think they will fix it.

I fully agree. And I do hope the fix lets everyone get the max pin and player level achievements, as well as reaching the top (Gold) league.

I’m just thinking back to when TC first said they were looking at adjusting the G5 allies requirements. There was still a lot of people complaining about it until they mentioned that the adjustment would make folks who were around level 3.5 jump to 5. I don’t remember as many complaints/threads here about allies after that. Sure it took a couple of months to see the adjustment take effect, but at least we had a narrower range of what we needed to do considering the update was on the way.

But I also know TC tends to not give details until the last possible minute, or not at all. Case in point, the Scrap to Gears Coins conversion rate.

I am trying to chill on the matter, but like many folks, I’m in the boat of trying to figure out how much more grinding I need to do in Pop. And with less than 6 months until the servers go down, there is not a lot of room for guessing wrong on how much grinding is needed.

I prefer to stick to the plan, grind without knowing TC’s awareness of the issue. So if I over grind, I’ll finish the game for sure.

But if I stay waiting for the miracle solution, maybe I’ll be short of coins, pins or both.

Also, playing horde isn’t too bad, the only problem is how much I can play without falling asleep of repeating the same task. I depend of my crew for Thunderland 12, for some reason when I have 2 thunder thumpers, horde match crashes and I lost the 2 thumpers :woman_shrugging:t2:

So its been 7 days since the last TC post. Is there any update?

Ticket has been raised and its in a teams queue? A project manager is aware it will need focus and is taking it to the next sprint planning? Theres a winter change freeze so nothing is going to happen this year?

Is it on the radar at all?

We need to stick to TC Sera’s answer:

I know that for many players is frustating not getting news every now and then, but I doubt we have news at least until next year.

There are bugs and glitches in Gears 5 and Tactics, they are focused to resolve that first.

I fully agree. I know there is still 5 months to go, so there should be plenty of time. But since there is a pretty firm deadline with the servers set to shut down, I hope they’re able to put something together and implement it On schedule, unlike making the Flaming and Midnight Omen skins craftable in Gears 4. Yes, they are now craftable, but that update came about 10 months after the planned implementation. Luckily the G4 servers are still up. If they miss the Pop target date by even a week, it could be too late.

I get that was just making sure the thread wasnt lost. I guess I just wanted some confirmation its still in scope for them to do anything.

Would hate to get to a month before shutdown and they say “actually we arent doing anything because deadlines slipped and internal projects over ran” or something.
