The forums new influx

Now, i know this is a weird thing to talk about being that the influx is not that large, but it is getting me skeptical about the future.

Is our positive, respectful, forums community safe from people who don’t make constructive critism or be polite with others on topics?

Well, I’ve been getting concerned over the past week or so with the influx of players joining the forums, at first it wasn’t very much of a thought until July 1st.

So far things are still fine, but I’m noticing a few pop ups of certain neighbours who are either not kind or just say something is trash just for the sake of saying it to spread hate & blah blah blah…

Anyways, i first joined the community about months ago and the forums were chill & everyone just wanted to talk gears and discuss opinions on the game. I’ve only noticed the past week, a influx of a few negative people who kinda just say TC sucks for no reason given (probably just mad).

However, this situation has sort of escalated since then… just in a few hours before i made this post, there was already the first person who’s ever said negative stuff to people who are discussing on the topic of “650 to 600 wall slide movement feedback”.

It’s hard to tell if there’s more people from Twitter’s or reddit’s toxic side of the community coming to our small, hardcore & casual fans, gears forums, but just hearing someone say something bad to another person, just because they have a different opinion is a bit on the edge.

Anyways, to sum this all up… i want to keep seeing this community grow in a friendly environment that it is, we don’t need to fight over simple preferences and opinions over a game, like… get real, If you really hate TC that badly or our forums community, you can back off man.

We aren’t gonna take that trash talking bullsh*t on here, this is our forums to discuss like normal people, not to become snowflakes and say mean things towards eachother. Grow up!

It has been mostly negative since the beginning even when Epic ran these forums. People get vocal when they are upset and Gears games have always been infuriating. Gears 4&5 have been particularly problematic.

It took TC 2-3 years AFTER launch to get Gears4 to a decent state and by then the player base had already taken a dive. Gears5 was barely playable for the first few months and currently TC keeps tweaking settings rather than making root changes. They will need to step up production of playable content if they want to keep people around. i.e. New versus maps, campaign dlc, additional weapons, etc.

I may not like some people, what they choose to believe in, or how they conduct themselves, however that doesnt disqualify them from existing on this platform. I do my best when confronted to defend my viewpoint with logic, but some people are just asking for it when they expose themselves to be full of it or ego-fueled. You can spot the ones who parade around like disciples from the bible preaching that pretend kindness laced with put downs, condescension, and mocking resentment. If we can all try to better understand the other, it helps bridge the gap. There’s nothing to be done for those who would rather remain cruel and never even entertain another’s suggestion despite any validity it may hold.

It’s all good fam. Just stay up.
