The campaign is a glitch and bug filled mess

Is anyone else having issues in act 4 when going to rescue paduk?

When i get to that part the map is not loaded completely, the voices are gone and if i die or want to restart the checkpoint the game freezes and i have to restart the chapter

Ok so, just got up this morning, go to start the game and it won’t load, kicks me straight back to the Xbox home screen. None of the issues have been fixed 3 days after release of early access. Can anybody tell me why I payed £20 more for this rubbish, why I took days of work to play an unplayable game and spent more time on the forums waiting for answers. Anybody…

I think at this point instead of looking for fixes we should be looking for ways to get our money back. This is unfair, unjust, and unacceptable. The more we invest in garbage service the more likely these problems are going to occur. It’s time we rebel and stand up to this stupidity by demanding our refunds. I think contacting Microsoft and showing them pictures of our receipts is the best option for those who pre-ordered. And to those who got the ultimate game pass to play this game should get their $1 or $2 refunded back from the promotions. It’s only fair.

Next time tell your shareholders to wait a few extra months so you can actually finish a game that works. A few bugs are acceptable at launch but this is a complete disaster… Also still waiting for an apology, or are you guys at TC also too incompetent to give us that? It’s not like we got this game for free, most of us anyway.

Now i can’t play past Act 2 Chapter 3 because the game freezes up at the start of the chapter. This is completely unacceptable.

I finished the campaign tonight. I threw the difficulty to “beginner” and said “screw it” and just tore into it. I got by that stupid boss fight, and made it Mars err I meant the other open world area and then I found everything using my Sparrow err I meant my skiff and my Titan err I meant Kait pushed through to get back to Braytech err Clayton and the COG.

Then that “choice”… SIGH
This series has officially jumped the shark. Gears of Twilight I take it?

Oh wait, my bad, there’s more, I had to get to the ending (RIP the best thing this game had in it) where I kept having to reset the last checkpoint because I hit a glitch with the ammo stack by the main cannon. Seemed a random Lancer GL fell in the area where the ammo stack was and it kept me from refilling my actual favored guns (I went through the whole game pretty much with hammerburst, torque bow, and boltok because the other weapons seemed to be not have the same amount of stopping power as those three) and instead automatically switched it out to that sorry @$$ Lancer GL instead with its crappy magazine to be using against all those tongues. So after seeing Marcus or Del die a few times from that checkpoint, I went back to the prior checkpoint and finished the game outright.

And of course, my achievements are so screwed for single player. No achievement for completion of the campaign, or for Jack’s heavy weapon grabs (stuck at 80%, even made Jack bring me a HOD along with everything else I can have him grab…), Jack’s upgrades, and Lord knows what else. Stats are definitely off for the work I put into the campaign.

Gears 6 will be subtitled “Step Dad and Step Daughter Day” to honor E-Day because why not? That’s where it seems to be going. I actually have a strong dislike for Ms. Two Tone Pants now. The part where Kait and Del (who is like that sad Friend Zone guy who really, really wants to get into Kait’s pants - read some of that dialogue and tell me I am wrong…) are ragging on the COG and JD while hand waving off the fact her mom and Oscar knew something was up with that necklace BUT TOLD NO ONE pretty much told me, “you know, these people suck”.

I tried Arcade, tried Escape. I then tried Escape at Master difficulty and made it to the third room before I was cut down rather quickly. I looked at the TOD awards path and I realized, this game’s MP might not be for me anymore.

Once the achievements are fixed and I actually know what I still might be missing, I may come back from one more SP run for the collectibles completion (one of the things I do like from this series), but right now I think I have gotten all I can from this game. Thank you Game Pass, I got to avoid buyers remorse this time because 59.99 out of pocket would have hurt me deeply.

And the icing on the cake - Gears Pop has been DOA connection wise for 3 days now too and nothing is being done there either. Been a bad few days for Gears stuff.

PS - Lizzie was awesome, for the one act we got to see her in…

This is how it looks the map when you go to rescue paduk in act 4

I just beat the campaign on insane and the game has yet to give me any achievements in regards to this accomplishment. This is beyond frustrating, fought through all the bugs and beat the story only to find that the game wont give me any credit for what I did.

Yeah, the bugs are numerous and some are still going with the “early access” means not complete game testing thing. Which is untrue. Early Access means the game is finished and it’s ready to play. It’s supposed to be an incentive to buy the game and get extra stuff. The game’s been buggy since the 6th and I finally got some of my achievements in the past two days. Hopefully patches are coming through soon. It still says I never finished things on Co-op when I did. The tracking is horrible.
It’s slow going as far as fixes are concerned.

I knew I wasn’t the only one. I took 2 days off specifically to play the story mode. I thought that would be enough time to finish it. I’m stuck on Act 3. I can’t go forward online. I bought the game digitally. So I cant play it offline. I tried joining games for Act 3. It’s been a mess. Some to do with the game itself. Others to do with new players. The game right now is definitely unplayable in Act 3. Unless you play it offline. Until a patch comes out. I spent 13 plus hours trying to get passed it. The buggy loading screens won’t allow you. Even if you manage to play. You get stuck with new players that play for 5 minutes. Then they pause the game for 15 plus minutes. Then theres the high risk of getting booted due to the game unable to keep you connected to the servers. I’m very disappointed so far. My time is very limited, and I do not have all the time in the world to play this. Hopefully when I get time off in a couple weeks. Story mode will be playable. When playing as Jack. Theres to many invisible walls. I hit a few where the host had to restart the check point. I wasnt able to get out. Also random times where the camera would crap out. So bad to the point host had to restart. To easy to fall off the map on the skiff. To easy to get stuck. When playing as Jack. There where a few times I was killed while playing as him. The game couldnt register it. Team mates kept playing for 30 plus minutes until they got to a checkpoint. Only for it to finally show I was killed. They had to do the whole entire section again. I hear it’s even worse online right now. I wouldn’t know. Now I understand that every game has its issues during launch. Its bound to happen. But with the tech test, plus additional testing with the game. I feel like most of these could of been avoided. They release a game 4 days early. The game is unplayable. You have people taking time off to enjoy the game. Rearrange their schedules only to find out the game is unplayable. Last week the xbox servers were down as well during the games launch. Combine that with the game itself being unplayable. Theres honestly no excuse for this. I’m kind of annoyed that I took time off during my busy schedule only to not be able to play this game that I spent like 70 bucks on. Heres to hoping they fix this hot mess soon.:man_facepalming:t6:

I’m at act 2 chapter 4 it tells me get back too the skiff. I can’t go under the tree since the world disappears and if I go to the ladder I can’t do anything it’s annoying. I also haven’t got any of my boost or the halo characters either which is really bothering me since I paid 80$ for this :expressionless:

Glitches are still everywhere.

I’m going to keep it one trillion zillion here so bare with me.

I went into this game with optimism because I felt that Gears of War 4 was alright, except for the versus which has been dead since 3 and always will be.

I am flabbergasted that TC is owned by the wealthiest tech company on the planet, ensuring a large budget for solid AAA title and yet deliver buggy poorly designed hot garbage. What’s even more astounding is that his is a Microsoft product, built by a Microsoft owned studio, for a Microsoft game platform and yet it still doesn’t work. Clearly it was not built for Xbox or Win 10 at all because it doesn’t work.

Fergusson, for the love of god just retire already and stop destroying this once loved and respected franchise. If you where a proper leader and actually did your f***ing job, you wouldnt have forced a bunch of Gears of War Judgement crap into this title. You and the team didn’t do it last game, so why this one? You of all people had to have known Judgment was the worst rated Gears title. Also, the quality assurance team needs to be fired and somehow blacklisted to they can never work in the industry again. Quality assurance isn’t letting one or two interns play an alpha build of the game as say it’s ready to be released. In addition and as much as I hate to say it, the writers need to be let go too.

This franchise’s story shouldn’t have gone past 3, I mean everyone knows the story died when Cliffy B left. Despite this, I actually thought 4 was OK despite having so much humor thrown in it that it was impossible to take it seriously like the original saga. 5 especially fails because all of the new characters in it are unlikable, boring, hypocritical, and overall horribly written. Only good thing about them is the voice actors did a great job, but had to read from a script that you wouldn’t even use as toilet paper.

Being a game developer at TC must be the best job ever. I wish I could sit on my *** at work and get paid for doing nothing. I wish I could fail in my job and deliver a faulty product while still magically being able to keep my job.

Nobody asked for, or wants this super ability crap, nobody wants active reload cooldowns from Judgement, nobody wants grand theft auto style aim assist, nobody wants the game being tailored to casuals. I can’t believe nobody in the corporate office pointed these things out.

I played 4’s campaign with a friend and had 0 problems. I played 5 with the same friend and literally crashed 10+ times during Act 1 alone. My friend even told me the only reason he continued playing is because he wasn’t playing solo. He also pointed something out, the open area idea helped ruin this campaign. Act 1 and 4 where fine and felt normal and kept us involved. But the open areas constantly have this mantra of backtracking and worse, pulling you in and out of combat due to boring travel on a poorly designed ski thing that once again, nobody wanted. This is supposed to be Gears of War, the only time we shouldn’t be fighting for our lives in during a cutscene or we’re dead and loading last checkpoint. Every Gears veteran knows this so why does the studio not?

The core gears gameplay is there. Take cover, roll, get actives, aim for the face. But even the core gameplay is ruined by the introduction of Jack as a combatant with his poorly designed abilities which once again, nobody asked for or wanted. At least Jack was amusing to play as, when the game let you play that is, which isn’t often.

If the game didn’t slap you with infinite load screens, unresponsive UI that requires a restart to fix. npc’s failing to spawn, and just random disconnects and crashes maybe the product would have been acceptable. For the horde if nothing else but then again, even that is lacking since the fabricator and base building mechanics have been broken.

If anyone actually reads this wall of madness, don’t waste your time replying, this is the first time in 3 years that I’ve visited this forum and I only came back to post this and warn other people who risk wasting their hard earned money or valuable time on this broken and flawed product. At least I know to play 6 on the game pass because if this game is any indication, the franchise is going down faster than when Jacinto sank.

Marinate on that.

TLDR: Game is broken and even if it magically gets “fixed” it’s still poorly designed. Stay away.

Ok so update to my last comment. I was finally able to beat the damn game on Insane except for Act 3 chapter 1. I have to go back and replay that. Even though I passed that part 3 times already. 4th times the charm I guess. I think T.C is working behind the scenes. I only had 5 disconnects vs 20 from yesterday. But still to have 5 in a 2 hour period. I somehow ended playing with a guy from Japan. Not sure how when I set my network for U.S only. I have a netgear router. Anyway the story was eh. I wont ruin it. They want you to care for characters that honestly no one cares for. No one played as them online in Gears 4 as well. Havent touched online yet but checked out the re-ups. That is beyond ridiculous. 20 freaking re-ups. That tells me right there this is the last Gears game until the consoles come out. So we are looking at 5 plus years. Maybe longer.

How Bad was Act 3 on Insane.
Was it glitching?

It was. I played the chapter today. I didn’t have any issues with it. I finally beat the game on insane. There are still reports of people having issues on Act 3. I got lucky this morning. I’m going back through story mode to gather all collectables, and all Jack upgrades. Insane mode is pretty easy. Just join a game with people on easy mode. Put your difficulty to insane. Play as Jack. He has useful abilities that help a lot.

Today I tried joining co-op yet again, but kept getting errors again. (apparently the latest patch released an few hours is suppose to fix this, I’ve yet to try and find out if it has).

I decided to carry on, on my own. Was playing act 3, got over half way through it and then the game closed on itself. I started it back up and it threw me back to parts I already had done and all the collectables had to be picked up yet again.

Also, the whole of act 2 and 3 were utterly boring as ■■■■.
