Amateurs. The Coalition is a disgrace to this franchise. Everything that could go wrong went wrong.
And don’t get me started on the MTX and other dumb design choices. Damn, such a B tier developer.

Same thing happened to me, act 1 was fine no issues, was playing act 2 spending ages looking everywhere for collectibles and components, had everything up to the end of chapter 2 and went into chapter 3 game froze, reloaded it and all my collectibles where gone, don’t have a clue if the components are still there though.

So just checked my stats on the Gears 5 main menu as they seem to have got it working now and NONE of the games i played in horde and escaped have been saved and apparently i have only played 6 hours of the campaign ( easily played at least 14 hours) still not got the achievement for completing the campaign (multiple chapters played again) and none of the collectables i’ve found have updated, so i assume i have to find them all again 
And to think that is was made by a basically microsoft game studio and it isn’t the 10th yet when you would expect another big wave of players hitting the game.
The collectables not registering is really annoying and kills replayability, i have had numerous bugs like getting kicked back to the xbox dashboard after starting a campaign chapter.
Collectables not registering. Game not progressing in certain areas. Even now my campaign stats are completely off. Only about two hours of playtime in the menu which should be much more. Endless checkpoint saving. Just to list a few.
Haven’t even touched the multiplayer yet.

Doesn’t somebody at Microsoft Game Division do a quality control inspection of games that get released on Xbox? You would think that they would have a HUGE interest in a new GOW game working correctly.
Did they have no interest at all?
This game was supposed to be HUGE for their Xbox, and now it’s another nail in it’s coffin.
This isn’t just bad for Gears fans, It’s the worst thing that could happen to Xbox.
Playstation fan boys are gonna have a field day laughing at us.
Thanks tc for probably not just killing GOW , but Xbox as a respectable game console.

dude, it reset me 2 chapters in the campaign and I now do have collectibles (5 instead of 18) and I lost all of Jack’s parts, ALL of them that I got yesterday in Act 3, they are ALL gone !!! I won’t replay this ■■■■.

soon as I clear the deebees when testing jacks ability I can’t progress, then the game won’t let me replay the mission/let me load any checkpoints

Lost my save game on insane for hole chapter because of your server’s, disconnecting all other sh**… Is it possible that you are this useless group of people? My collectibles are not showing up. Achievement progression is not working… And I give you 80 ****** $… You are useless morons…
Yeah, to me this launch has reached Destiny 2 proportions. People, particularly Pro users, were pissed for months. Game was absolutely unplayable. A few days into the chaos, devs stopped updating community all together. I fear this is where we are heading. To this day I won’t touch anything bungie does. It’s a damn shame bc as far as xbox goes this title is extremely important to them right now. Granted it looks great and got pretty good reviews but wtf version were they playing? Server issues, including the impact on collectibles, save states, mp features and general stability make this unplayable and a disaster for one of the very very few AAA xbox exclusives. I know im not attempting A1CH1 for the 20th time only to have most or all progress disappear a few more CH in. And it’s a damn shame because Xbox X is definitely my preferred platform. But if things aren’t (actually) resolved really soon and it turns into crickets from the development team, this going to put another nail in the xbox coffin. They cant afford many more. And if the Coalition is utilizing xbox cloud/ azure or whatever it’s called in any capacity…Xbox should give up on the streaming service idea altogether. It will be their end. Unbelievable. This mess.

Stats are now functioning as intended. You can review your campaign collectibles and MP stats in the quick menu. Note: As the system processes the backlog, it may take a while for stats and achievements to update.
Would someone from TC please confirm and elaborate on “a while”?
Was working for an hour now it’s stopped again! Sort this immediately. Do not state it’s fixed when it clearly isn’t! I don’t need to wait for it to back up, that was already done… The issue is back

The fact they state it as resolved on twitter and the status page feels like an insult to me. Did they even test the fix or only checked the multiplayer stats. I opened a support ticket but no update on that either.

By the sounds of it, I’m lucky to only have the achievement progress not working.

I still don’t have any collectables that i’ve picked up registering, Still get end of match errors, still get stats displaying as 0 in the war journal and the leaderboards load now but everything says 0. Everything stated there is false

ACT II -NORTH TOWER MISSION- Missing enemies, although the dialogue suggests there should be SWARM and SNIPER… nothing there. So cannot progress? Very odd.
Quick tip:
If checkpoint saving is longer then Normal or infinite then progression is not saved anymore. Further playing is pointless. I wasted a full chapter on this.
On my xbox i cannot even return to the lobby or main menu, it just hangs in the loading screen forever.
I quit the game and restart it. I have to start from the checkpoint before the last one. Replay that checkpont and pray it saves normally.

I’ve had to restart the Xbox several times, starts at checkpoint but have to kill the enemies I killed before again. FFS have it sorted . At first I cleared the cache but rumours online say if you got an external SSD game runs smoother …not that I’m paying for one. Xbox one X … Most powerful console in the world. Can’t properly run gears

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve had to reload checkpoints and even reload entire section. The last straw for me, other than the constant spinning “saving” logo in the bottom of the screen, the enemy AI that doesn’t spawn which makes it so you can’t advance through sections, friendly AI teammates that DO NOT revive even when I crawl to their feet, dodgy camera angles, friendly AI getting stuck which again means I can’t advance through doors, no the last straw for me was when I routinely restarted a checkpoint because some enemies wouldn’t spawn, and rather than sending me back a checkpoint it sent me back to the start of the chapter, in doing that I lost all of my collectables and upgrades for Jack, and all my components too! Oh and it gets better because although it says I’ve lost the components the game for some reason still thinks I have all these upgrades, so whenever I’m trying to do the side missions I can’t actually complete them as when the game gives me an objective such as ‘pick up the upgrade’ it doesn’t register when I actually pick it up, so I’m basically playing the game from act 3 chapter 3 with a stock jack with no upgrades at all.
I’ve played gears of war from their first release and understandably the multiplayer sometimes is buggy and a bit unfinished (as are most games these days) but I could always count on the campaign being rock solid with no bugs or glitches. Gears 5 is embarrassing, an utter disappointment. If it wasn’t the gears of war franchise I can safely say I wouldn’t be attempting to grind through the almost unplayable campaign. Dreadful

I’ve had the same issue multiple times going through Act 2, felt like a drag.
There was a part where a juvie smashed my head in and everytime I tried to reload the checkpoint, I would appear in a full white map, as if it was like out of bounds which would explain why I died each time I tried to reload the save. I couldn’t move, same with the Ai’s which didn’t really matter.
Horde mode also froze (sort of). My camera decided to go into a cinematic view, dont know if it was an intentional feature to the game but EVERYONE, players and Ai got stuck moving forward, walking into walls with the animation still playing, so guessing, yea it crashed due to the network.
Other than that everything has been perfect, personally love it all.
