They should also eliminate whoever approved or thought of this tuning in the first place.

I’m agree with that statement

No…slower gameplay leads to less skill…fact

Obviously they are trying to make the game more realistic to prepare us for the movie.

Depends on how the game is designed.

Most Gears maps were ill-suited for the fastest tunings we have seen yet IMO.

With the update the game became ■■■■, it was going well with the operation, but the beta NOTHING! to see. I don’t know how people agreed with her

You are wrong, the reaction speed is what is called skill, now walking like a robot does not go with this game.

Gears of War is a reaction game.

I have not played yet but basically, I can sum it up like this:

Vets are nerfed because are too good for noobs but noobs are the same because can’t get better.

I think it goes beyond that. No one is sitting back and saying “how can I make skilled players get punished and beginners rewarded?”

I believe they are getting a lot of questions and complaints in regards to mechanics. Questions like “how was that a kill?” Or “how did I not kill the opponent?”.

Many of these happen with close range battles and with fast movement/frame rates. Where you literally have to slow the game down just to see why and how you died.

I would also argue that it is much harder to tone rifles with faster pace game. That the line between too weak and can’t leave cover because they are too strong is super thin.

With movement speed dropped, it helps with the first part. Gauging GIB range, actually see why and how you died and your miss without having to look at film frame by frame. But I thing it also helps with rifle tunings. Some folk on Twitter say lancer is useless now and stuff like that, but after playing the beta and again in ranked I couldn’t disagree more.

So like I’ve been saying here. I think TC is looking at the big picture and overall experience. This whole “catering to noobs” rhetoric is not only false, but is toxic and should be stopped in its place.

TC should not bechanging these weapons and the damage they do, ask the PVP people what they want before making changes that the majority of the player base might not want.

2006 vet here! The new tuning has potential, and most of what we’re seeing in this thRead are knee-jerk reactions by people who refuse to or are unable to adapt to a different style of play. The arguments against it aren’t even consistent.

“OMG only the pros want this tuning!”
“OMG there is no skill involved in the new tuning!”

Pick one!

I guess with the weapons nerfs and more bullets to hit, the respawn ammount of ammo should be increased aswell: Lancer 300 (maybe 280?), Snub 150. Someone agree?

“people who refuse to or are unable to adapt to a different style of play”

This is what everyone who has played Gears since the beginning has had to do. This update is no different. It’s a drastic change I feel, which is good, and is in the right direction, but most of the hate posts are people saying the game is going to die or they’re uninstalling. Gears is Gears, and this update feels more like Gears than Gears 5 ever has. Learn it, adapt! This game can succeed off this style of play!

This tuning feels great, in my honest opinion!

Great Post :+1: and I agree

Just a few questions because i am a dope and maybe TC does this and i am just not recognizing because i am looking at this come the end point and launch of a full tuning change.

1 - TC have a dev playlist and collect data/analytics/feedback on the changes being implemented there…do they have a place in social media or these forums (yeah i know, doubtful on that) set aside specifically for responses to these changes? Or is it just kind of a feel from general posts and word of mouth from players? And by this i mean does TC have a created thread/post/poll/etc. for change A, provide thoughts and opinions on any social media platform…then the same for change B, thoughts and opinions, and so on?

I for one would happily fill out a 2 minute survey for a change in tuning if it means a more in depth response and data that leads to a better game from the devs for the players.

2 - why so many changes SIMULTANEOUSLY? I get if you change 1 gun, movement, delay, etc. it throws everything relating to balance out of whack…but isnt that kind of the point? a single item being changed creates analytics for you to work with so if you tweak a single gun you can then see what that does and proceed from there. Was everything changed added to the dev playlist 1 by 1 until they agreed on a point to make that the tuning until further testing on additional changes?

I feel it should be starting with point A changes, gathering feedback, and proceeding to point B and so on if needed, right? All these changes at the same time create more confusion and mixed responses instead of honing in on a single thing, seeing if it works, then advancing on to other necessary changes if needed.

Maybe after a couple changes 1 by 1 it creates a tuning that people begin to love that the devs never anticipated and then TC implements that as the new tuning but keeps tweaking in the dev playlist. This would limit additional changes included on top of those items players enjoyed just because “analytics say this should be done”.
