He is getting at you get punished more from making bad plays with slower speed. You can’t just run at an opponent, wall cancel into air back A any more.

You can’t just wall bounce and cancel into a speed boost up a.

Well you can, but these plays now have a side of risk to them.

You can still wall bounce and strafe. You can still wall cancel and back a.

Even with the nerfs, the rifles seem pretty good still to me due to the slower speed. It was wayyy to easy before to wall cancel your way up to anyone and shoot and kill with gnasher with minimal risk. Now it’s a little tougher.

If you can still do it, kodos to you. You are skilled. Proving his point.

If anyone tht does not like this horrid tuning and snail movment with nothing but delays after every input.
Please DO NOT PLAY IT. It will be reverted once they see the offical numbers.

Im not touching this game until there is a revert.

I didnt buy a 600 monitor and series x to have even more input lag or Delays than when i had a xbox one x.

There needs to be 2 tunings.

One for the so called ProS tht play in a gamemode tht isnt even available for ranked.

If you like this new tuning. Cool. Im happy for u. And keep playing.

But the ones like myself. JUST DONT PLAY. The revert will come faster if you dont.

Lol. You must forget the two tuning rage fest in gears 4. No one liked that.

Oh i remember. But this new 2 separate tuning s is more so to do with movement

Even with this new tuning, those who were getting wrecked by skilled players before will still be getting wrecked. They’ll always find something to blame because they don’t want to change how they play.

Skilled players will adapt to tuning. I wish the game was faster but TC has a philosophy fundamentally different then mine. Hopefully future gears titles will have a better vision.

they didn’t during the three years of development and 6 months post launch. they were all-in on the faster movement mechanics.

it’s not hard to see the shift to slower gameplay was made after key people left the studio.

And none of this is true.slower games don’t take more skill. You are running slower, therefore easier to hit. The guns are weaker so you need to use your shotgun more in order to kill people.

It takes a lot of skill to wall bounce. No it doesn’t take a alot of skill to up A. It never really has, you know what takes a lot of skill? Teamwork. The one thing you have that really takes a lot to master.

It’s a team based game. Not a shotgun based game where you go running into a crowd and blast people.( mind you I’m gonna exclude ffa and gnasher only for obvious reasons)

King isn’t a Rambo type game. Sure you have moments but it’s a team based game and you know who cries the most? The people who want to shotgun only and they get lancered to death becsuse they are too dumb to realize you can’t just go running in there.

Tdm is a team based game. Team death match. Not solo death match, and yet people cry because the other team plays like a team and beats you.

It’s amazing these things have to be spelled out for you people. It’s like going into gran turismo and whining about how everyone is going faster than you so you want the game to slow them down because they know how to drift and take corners.

To be fair you are gonna have camping either way. It’s just how gears is. Slow or fast…more so at the higher levels because they realize set up is key.

I keep repeating this but the beta hasn’t fixed any of the core issues with this game. Which is net code issues.

Instead some ā€œprosā€ got their way after they didn’t get their way back at the start of this game when Ryan was running things and told them no. ( or at least someone did). I remember watching videos from pros saying they want the game slower. Because it will make you think out your moves and blah blah blah. Which is actually quite insulting when you think about it. Like people under the old tuning where a bunch of march ahead full steam into a retro because they couldn’t grasp the concept of thinking out their moves. Only when we got slower movement were we able to break this game down correctly.

What a load of crap. The idea anyone would listen to this is just dumb. ( mind you I’m not taking away from.their actual skill, I’ve seen them play, they are good, their opinions are just wrong. )

Watching avexys even he says the movement speeds should be a little faster…

I think it’s important to note that at the high level pro play, these changes probably make sense. the fast tuning pushed lethality to a bad point where it wasn’t fun to watch or play.

but the game isn’t made for them. at least not the original vision for this game and before people drove Ryan bonkers.

so now what, does the game die off even quicker due to these changes? the 4v4/5v5 and Squad limits drove some away already and it’s going to be an interesting experiment to watch.
It would be very ironic if the changes led to the death of the espot scene because the game died prematurely.

I don’t care honestly about the esports scene. Good for them they can play that much. I can’t. I have a job and Yada Yada Yada.

I think you’ll see a decent drop off and they will have to slowly move the tuning back. Avexies thinks your shots are gonna have to be more tactical. All my shots are that…on all tunings. It’s a dumb comment to make to justify what he wanted in the first place.

People are making really bad arguments to justify these tunings. The reality is they just prefer a slower game. I could respect that if they would just cut out the ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  they surround their arguments with.

Watching avex’s latest I still saw up a’s, still saw people trying to bounce and the game became a crawl. It was ffa. He played the exact same way he always does.

But here is what else I saw. He played back and would shoot from a distance. Ehen he got closer and wasn’t from behind I’d watch him die from the same crsp from the old tuning. Nothing changed.

I’m ranting over something that isn’t gonna change. Doesn’t matter…think I’ll boot up destiny 2 or something this weekend unless my buddies are on.

That’s why I said seperate it with movement only, something that is unique to gears… the movement.
With this implemented it’ll make the game still feel like gears, have you able to switch between tunings at any time without any loss of skill, and feel like one gears game not a clutter jumble of separate games… that’s the rational anyway that just makes sense on paper… and just makes sense

I feel like I’m in space…

Slow motion gravity…

These guys are determined to destroy Gears…

Like wow…

WHO CARES ABOUT THESE PROS!!!

So the more skilled players that were winning gun fights before are now going to lose gunfights to less skilled players because the movement is slower and more noob friendly? Makes complete sense!

Here’s an idea. Let’s keep a consistent tuning and if noobs are getting destroyed, how about they just get better.

Bad idea. Learn from what Sanic has to say :

Fast is good. But hitting your shots accurately at high speed is what I believe to be skillful.

Welcome to the future of Gears.
