No new modes.

Clunky tuning. Like I get why gears 2 was clunky but it was innovating for its time but I think it’s well over a decade so why go back to that tuning?

Usually games get better as they progress. But nah. Let’s go back to the clunk tuning with the same issues Gears 2 had.

Server based / gib based, issues. Same story different decade.

I’m glad it took this much to open my eyes & see that TC doesn’t care and neither does some of the fan base still playing this.

How can anyone support what they’ve done? I tell you. People who want to live in the past & support Gears from what it was.

Less gore, no ranked variety, 09 tuning, no structure damage, a rehash of recycled locust, DeeBee friendly to appease the kids.

Always the same redundant ideas. I bet gears 6 won’t change or evolve the swarm characters & reuse the same concepts.

But some people will follow gears for the nostalgia.

What’s so nostalgic about this gears though? As long as you support it TC won’t change.

They’ll keep copying & pasting from previous titles with bad servers.

I don’t understand the people that can’t take a break to better the game. But it is what it is. Not helping your game if you want the real nostalgia back.

Gears of War 4

Began with the ability to join different regions which allowed for fast matchmaking.

Players in USA complained about this so a region lock was introduced. As a result I was then literally unable to find a match in Escalation / Execution. I was forced into Core (TDM ect). Occasionally this was fast matchmaking however my average seemed to be around 30 minutes to find a match.

The main reason region lock was introduced was because a lot of players Mainly Central and South American players abused their ping advantage. That’s why there was so many legitimate complaints. And it led to a lot of the American base to hang up the game. It was truly frustrating to see a guy with 90-140 ping that bounced around as well roll through your shot and kill you. Then he starts humping the air like he outplayed you. A lot of Americans left because of that.

Yup.

Gears is strongly catered & supported by the Latin community. Which I don’t understand why! They have no voice in this game & their opinions get shut out because they can’t speak English.

What a nice community to have where they’re voiceless & still get their support.

Most of them I know don’t even like this tuning but they’ll play gears 5 just because it’s gears…

Don’t get me wrong they are loyal fans man and I won’t knock them for it. But at the end of the day Gears of War 4 was a great game in my opinion. What killed it was the constant 2-4 players with pings that would bounce from 90 to 140. And Europeans were guilty of it was well although to be fair their ping didn’t bounce like the Latino communities did. It would be so maddening to outplay a dude just for him to roll or roadie run through your shot and blam your chunked. Then he is humping the air like he God’s gift to Gears.

The most frustrating part of this fact was that USA players wanted a region lock to prevent Mexico based players from playing with us. There wasn’t actually an issue playing against European players because while their pings were slightly higher they had a stable connection so it played just fine. I know for a fact that @III_EnVii_III had a 60ms ping to US East which was stable and much lower in general than Mexico and some US players who had 90ms+ with 1100+ms spikes consistently.

The problem is they locked out Europe but kept the actual problem, which was Mexico, on USA servers. The experience was worse after the region lock than it was before.

Hey my name is Vemoned and I’m here to say, the tuning is bad and the game is not great, you changed too fast and didn’t listen hardcore fans, you let the gamepass casuals have the final say, if you don’t fix it a death game you gonna make.

It’s not xenophobia, they just want to play a match that’s playable & not have to worry about lag.

But I agree the tuning is beyond terrible.

I go to rank after 6month hiatus.

  1. Start ranked.

  2. I Bounce, it feels off. I roadie run but move like i got anchors on my feet.

  3. They start bot walking. I lancer… but lancer does no damage.

  4. They keep botwalking , shoot my shotgun, they sponge and chunk me.

  5. Game ends. I think to my self maybe i was trippin…

I just dont get why you guys pick up a game as a new developer studio. Change everything about it. Then expect great feedback.

Movement is the one thing that needs always stay the same.

Friend calls me after 3 months of it not talking.

I answer.

We talk, he asks if I play call of duty , I say no. He asks me if I been playing gears & I said the 4th one.

He asks is it because of the “slow update” I’m like, how did you know… we both laugh & resume conversation

Even USA players dont want to play with them ?
( and they are jumping eu servers ).

Rank system is build just wrong way .
Example If our team highest rank is Diamond 1 it should give against us max. Diamond 3 players ( ±2), now it’s giving 3-4 Masters and everyone knows that is big leap and others on our team could be gold/Onyx :slight_smile: , and Masters should always play only against other Masters . :wink:

The problem is that if masters were placed against masters, queues could take over 40 minutes.

Overwatch is a game that has long wait times like these but they also allow you to play custom lobbies or social matches while you wait for your game.

I’d dig it if they implemented something like this, everytime I play ranked it’s always super unbalanced and like out of 10 games, I probably get 1 game where both teams are competent.

Ranked is dodgy as hell, mainly due to the fact we just haven’t got the player base so TC have had to scope out the matchmaking.

The likes of an onxy player can play masters and such, I don’t agree with it but it’s the only way to get fast matchmaking. If I’m playing solo I don’t agree with playing against a sweaty squad of 4 but I’m guessing it’s not feasible to separate.

Obviously the developers fault though for a poorly populated game especially such a title that GOW is.

I know and agreed that low playerbase .
It’s just tell us how broken game was when it launch out , but player base is not growing with this slow speed tuning ,vice versa .

Hopely TC has ear’s and eyes open now .

Yeah Overwatch has long time queue but i think you can’t compare 10-30 min at queue in OW (currently) vs 5+ hours queue at Gears for example. Overwatch played 1000x more people but still game have a lot of issue with ranked + queue. Big plus is amount people who play the game. Gears don’t have this. Sadly.

Plus Overwatch have many issues with balance too maybe more than Gears. He doesnt exist: i mean ranked balance in OW.

And as you said: you can play custom lobbies or social matches while you wait for your game. That’s a big plus for Overwatch. (=

No amount of tunings is going to increase the playerbase.

What this game needs, it’s a new mode like they did with Escape.

I never played Overrun on Judgment but from what I read it has an amazing concept in my opinion, it literally combines the best of pvp and pve.

I definitely prefer that than what we have now which is bronze players disguised as onyxes on master lobbies ruining the flow of the match, just for the sake of getting a game in 5 minutes.

All I’m saying is that is not such a bad idea to take inspiration from overwatch (better balanced games and being able to play social while you wait for a ranked game)

I agree. For sure you can take inspiration from Overwatch. Good idea. For example (my things):

  • Training polygon: not training polygon what we see right now but normal training polygon when you can go whenever you want and test something.
  • Plus when you stay at long queue will be nice if you can go to training polygon or simple custom game and chilling there when game still searching.
  • TOP500 tier and global leaderboard when you can see how youre progress + in my opinion this is motivation to be better - could be.
  • Better rewards per rating especially at high rating than now: graphitty, avatars, more skins or something like this.
  • More devs diary/videos/scatches - People must know what’s happend and what is planed.
  • Most important thing: listenig community especially active players

What’s funny is that TC had a pretty nice leaderboard Pre-OP4 and then decided to throw it away for some reason.

Anyways, we might be going off-topic here and we don’t want them to close this thread because of that, so let’s get back to the tuning.

Tuning is trash, revert it.
