I’m by no means a well versed PvP player but today I did some quickplay matches with a friend for some dailies and the changes are very jarring. Felt like I was running in molasses, as some people mentioned you can easily just walk up to people without any penalty. Like who are these changes for? I’m not even good at PvP and even I think this pretty bad.
No one plays gears on steam dude. who the hell cares.
You joke, but that was a thing in Gears 1/UE Campaign and it was annoying even there. No visible meter, though.
I usually just adapt and don’t give a ■■■■ about tuning changes since they change every week, but it’s a little slow for my tastes. Might warm up to it later.
Im a masters player as well. I am saying it doesn’t take much skill to air back A. At all.
You can still literally do everything you said with this new tuning. However, there is a risk now. You can still spam wall cancel and shoot, but there is a risk now. You can’t just back A every time now without some risk. This increases skill game.
4v4 was implemented to allow for more meaningful battles and not just run the ring and rumble, not low population. Imagine 5v5 on river… that would not be fun IMO.
I have to ask since you brought up something that it seems every one on these forms complains about . bot walking. I have never and I mean never struggled killing someone who choose not to hit their A button and just walked me down. That to me tells me .That People who have a problem fighting bot walkers don’t stand a snowballs chance in hell of beating me in a fight and I bounce more than half of the community.
Don’t you play PVE more than PVP
There has always been a risk new tuning or not. I’ve done both and died. I’ve done both and lived. The new tuning didn’t change any of this.
4v4 didn’t change anything either. River is a poor example because it’s really easy to box out the other team on every hill. Boom shot…easy. frags…easy…all four side hills? Easy.
We can box you out on shock frag on foundation. Or torgue on nexus. I was boxed out on shock on regency the other day and then boxed them out at boltok.
4v4 changed nothing…all those things I just typed can be done on 4v4 or 5v5 with a decent team of players. My wait times for a game remained the same. Pings remained the same. Latency remains the same.
I’ve had 4v4 games that are pure chaos. Just like 5v5. I’ve had games where 4v4 is more tactical. I’ve had the same with 5v5.
I’ve been here since launch of this game. The one thing that has remained consistent is lag, ping and connection issues. Ghost bullets shooting over walls that you shouldn’t or you know the real issues with this game. Not hyper bouncing or being lancered by a good team because you think you can be all tactical with your shotgun.
That’s not totally true. The reason bot walkers can be an issue is because you aren’t used to it. The motion throws you off because you are waiting for the bounce. Your reflexes are used to slide…shoot…slide as the other does the same. Sometimes you just can’t get a grip on their movement…
The reverse happens as well for bouncing. Sometimes people just out bounce you.
Key example. Had a dude bouncing with me and then he just stopped and it threw me off. I missed and he beat me…it happens.
This new tuning is amazing and well needed . It’s not slow it’s well paced. It’s time to step back and realize we have been playing the advanced warfare of gears for far too long.
The delays to the air back make the game make sense more times than not now. you can see what the opponents intentions are now. complemented by the slip speed change.
The game is much more understandable . Way less wtf why did he slide into my cover Moments . I can see ppl thinking mid fight and that is what gears has been missing. I hope they continue to make improvements to this game.
I think people that are complaining are mad because they aren’t getting away with murder anymore and they don’t like it. Learn how to make ppl miss or time your shots and bounce’s I promise you will win.
Well everything is like slow motion to me, from my experience.
You could do this before the tuning. If you couldn’t then you shouldn’t be playing this game .
If some one walks me down I deserve to die. 9/10 times I will win that fight against that player. No need to complain like the tuning has now gave bot walkers super powers. Learn to do something different than bounce mindlessly when you see someone walking at you
the fact I see people complaining on here about botwalkers is hilarious lol, if you’re letting someone walk in a straightline directly at you then it’s definitely your fault quit blaming the game for being trash
Why did they mess with the movement. Do people that are in charge with multiplayer have like a brain damage problem!!!
I get people being this is the last straw… but at the same time I’m puzzled with how many tunings, title updates, etc each installment has gone through.
I took a step back from the mess that was late OP1/2 and TC has genuinely made this game enjoyable since OP3. This tuning and movement I have to say is already leaving a positive impact.
Everything I can do on this tuning I could do on the last tuning and the tuning before that and on every other gears before this one. My skill level will always be high. But I also understand that gears has been broken for a long time. Any good play can get away with murder on these overly fast paced gears due to a lot of exploits , and one of them was the speed of the game. It was too fast half the time you wouldn’t even see how you died they would still be sliding on your screen. Glad to see them take a step back from it. Gears has been losing players way before they slowed anything down so I don’t want to hear that.
I have seen a ton of hate for this tuning before it released now that it’s out I see even more hate (not surprising) but why is it still players that’s trying to convince other players that this tuning takes more skill at this point I think they’re trying to convince themselves u can like it if u want but thinking or saying it’s more skillful is just false
Perhaps its their opinion.
people have different perspectives on what takes skill on here
People don’t like losing in games and the new tuning makes it much easier to kill a more skilled player. They see this as them now being better at the game, so that’s why they defend the new tuning.
