TC's Non-Communication

I think by now we can summon that they don’t care.

Absolutely not what I said.

I said they don’t have someone who has their entire role on the forums and social media. I also said that I think they need to.

Who’s TC?

Is he a pro-player?

I can’t think of a lot of games that had strong support 6 months after a very bad start. Play Gears 5 because you love it. But, don’t fall into the trap of thinking there’s going to be a magic turn around or that support will do anything but gradually decline.

Further development is going to yield very little financial return. Continue to express your frustration, by all means. They need to feel that pressure. But, my personal advice would be, don’t let it get you too upset because it’s unlikely to change for the better at this point.

Pour one out for Anthem

I enjoyed it and played it until I could no longer get queued with anyone. If someone loves a game, they should do their best to appreciate it and not let it anger them, otherwise, what the point of video games?

I’m more so hoping that if we can get them in the habit now, MAYBE Gears 6 won’t be such a cluster at launch, haha!

I do believe this game will never be “fully fixed” and will be another black eye on the franchise, just like Judgement.

It will end up like Judgment , just a bad dream of a game.

Judgement was way worse because it was too different from what I wanted from a Gears game. No Locust in standard game modes, weird grenade toss, weird map movement…

Except Overrun. Overrun is amazing.

Bring back Cliff, boo TC.

Can’t wait for Gears 5 Battle Royale then.

I wasn’t around to play Judgment online but I have played the campaign and the aftermath chapter and I really enjoyed It, I loved the campaign. I only know it had no locusts in multiplayer game modes, can you elaborate on why it was so bad and different?

Sure. TL;DR - Keep in mind that what I have written below is from the perspective of “too many changes too quickly.”

First, Gears had 3 games with clearly defined rules of movement. One these rules was “you can’t jump off really high ledges.” Judgment changed this. It became more like Halo in that aspect.

Second, the grenade toss was changed to add quick toss which does not require you to swap weapons. This changed the PvP dynamic of knowing how an enemy could attack you based on what you see them holding in their hands. This combined with sticky grenades made combat radically different from previous Gears games.

Third, there were no locust in PvP. Only humans. With Red or Blue armor depending on the team. This was confusing because it was so different from Gears 1,2, and 3 where you could always tell who the opponents were based on shape and sounds.

The only saving grace and my most played mode was Overrun which is a combination of Horde and Beast from Gears 3. Very well balanced, very fun to play as all the different classes, required really good teamwork, and matches were always dynamic and never boring. The Overrun-only maps were also cleverly designed to give different modes of attack, defense, and movement based on which class you choose.

I actually got it last week, saw it for 9 bucks used and decided “eh, good for a weekend.” I first learned that the D-pad did not switch weapons, I like the quick toss and the throw was horribly awkward. I see how it can be bad though, humans vs humans. It seems like not knowing what your opponent has seemed unfun.

Recently I was wondering that what if Judgment had a few more months in the oven to cook to be a launch title for the xbox one and how successful it could’ve been

I don’t think it’s a bad game. Campaign was a blast especially the missile reveal. But the standard multiplayer was not for me.

Also no dnbo. Limited maps as map development was split between regular versus and overrun. No traditional Horde either.

I think I’d refer to TC’s behavior as more no interaction rather than no communication. We actually seem to get twice a week releases from them. TBH they take a pounding whenever they interact, mostly deserved, but I get it’s easier not to take one.

It costs money to hire a position. I get that. I think they would do a great deal of good will by interacting more. It would definitely make it feel like at least the community was heard. Maybe when they finalize new leadership we will get a different philosophy toward the forums.

I agree with your sentiment in very many ways, but at the same time I think it’s also fair to keep the games we love to a standard. Think of it like a show, I’ll watch the Walking Dead but once it starts to get really bad, compared to the first few seasons, I don’t have any reason to tune in.

Same with Gears 5. After finding myself to be happy and joyful with past installments (including Judgement) I find it harder to enjoy the newer entry at a lesser standard. Sometimes I can enjoy it. But those moments won’t get me playing for 3 months straight when I have games like Siege to occupy my time.
