TC laziness with Carmines

U must be new to gears go look at gears 1 and 2 only diffrence in carmine’s are the helmet really … did u want them to completely remake the character? If so drop 20 u get diffrent skins i personally like them

Im a true fan been playing since 1 in middles school lol soooo i like 5 just cause u cant figure and adopt dont mean every true fan cant lol

I went to totems and clicked on Anthony? No money, no iron? Idk what you are talking about.

Anti PVE? There has been more PVE content in gears 5 than gears 4 and 3 combined. Operation 1 had New almost weekly hives, and now has gone to a new hive every other week with earnable skins.

There has been new cards and hero abilities added every three months. There are more cards and strategies added now than all of 4 with more to come. Gears 4 only added like 15 new cards maybe a year later and I still couldn’t play with them cuz the pack system sucked. I don’t recall gears 3 doing anything for PVE post launch.

You may not like escape. You may not like the tiles,. But it’s still content and I for one love that mode and the tiles and look forward to new hives to master.

You may hate the Rate of hero’s and new cards being added. You may not like the new horde system. But there is way more things to do with it than other gears. Plus many many many people do like the new system and how it works.

I think LAZY is the wrong word. They are not trying to send out ■■■■ content or be slow on purpose. There is no business incentive to do that. They literally stated why the carmines came to PVP first and that a solution is in place to bring them to PVE. What more do you want?

If they didn’t change their model, we would have Nothing right now.

Couldn’t agree more :+1:t2:

They aren’t anti-PvE, they’re just delaying the PvE appearances until later because the hero system backed them into a corner and they want to release new characters faster.

Said this before–but what or who is a true Gears fan? Is it Envi who’s spent more money than all of us combined? Ektope for getting to Re-Up 50? Maybe the Lizzie apologists? Or Kay and his obsession with the Queen?

What the hell makes a good Gears game? Who says a Gears game is good or bad or real or whatever outside of the general overall reception to the game.

I’ve never seen Gears to be all that popular on YT–and the people that used to make Gears content are still making Gears content, so…

This is true for almost every game in the franchise, if not every MP game out there…

MS or Xbox or TC have sunk too much into this IP to just ditch a 6th when they’re obviously trying to go full-steam ahead with multiple games and spinoffs.

If you didn’t pay attention to the story, Benjamin carmine used Anthony carmine’s armor in gears 2. The only thing i’d consider lazy, is their identical voice lines(death sounds/headshot quotes/etc)

I don’t like this because the phrasing (Phrasing!) insinuates Benjamin crawled into New Ephyra to steal Anthony’s armor. Even though it’s not the case.

They share some, but it’s the same with lots of other characters. I recently played Keegan just for the hell of it and realized he shares some of Marcus’ old quotes, even the more iconic ones about headshots and whatnot. (Not sure about toast but I think so).

This was a thing in 4 as well as 5. So it’s not TC’s “laziness” with the Carmines exclusively, moreso their lack of attention to all of the character’s dialogue.

I don’t remember this at all. Is it said in-game or something?

New Ephyra? I was under the impression it was still Ephyra at that point, unless you’re referring to the Stranded camp named New Ephyra in Gears 1/UE.

I think he means his armor is modeled after Anthony’s. Which means it’s modeled after a generic COG Gear.

Now I get what Buster meant.
I thought that Txddibexr was trying to say that Ben inherited the armor somehow and that you could miss this detail if you didn’t pay attention to the story. And I thought Buster was telling him that he was making it sound like Ben went and got the armor himself. Lol. I literally got confused by his phrasing, just like Buster was pointing out. It was early morning here when I posted that. I guess my brain wasn’t fully awake yet. Haha

Oh true sorry, yes it would still just be “Ephyra.” During Gears 2.

The only carmine that wasn’t just a helmet swap in the original games was Clayton. Anthony and Ben were literally always just a helmet swap of each other except in 3 bens armour was slightly darker blue

There is no difference but the helmet. But I still spent 10$ for them lol

You have a point but at least unlike previous gears they have their own lines and slightly different voices, not to mention that their helmets, pants color and the large pocket on Anthony’s right leg are different. You’re not wrong but i feel like we have bigger issues😂. I don’t get their laziness in PvE. A group comes up with skill cards, passives and ultimates, another group balances the cards with numbers and test them. Do they really need months for 2-3 characters? They should be releasing a new character with skill cards and everything every 2 weeks

He’s right. It’s even what EPIC did in the original trilogy. The Carmines were actually just Kim reskins with different helmets and voices. In Gears 2, you could even ghost cam into their helmets and see the Kim face underneath.

Kim!? Kim Possible!? :exploding_head:

He doesn’t have a point. Their armor was exactly the same in the old Gears games.

The only issue I have is the few Ben lines that they gave to Anthony.

The Spinoff which was one of the top selling games on steam when it released

I dunno if anyone’s already went over this but there are actually enough subtle differences to tell that it isn’t just a model rip. Is the cog armor identical? Yes. Do they have the same neck with the same grime pattern? Yes.

Benjamin has an ammo pouch on each arm versus Anthony having one on his left. Benjamin has a mount for a sidearm in place of Anthony’s ammo pouch. Their knee pads are slightly different. Anthony’s belts including the ones on his boots are shinier, his pants are darker and the leather is darker. All of this on Benjamin looks a bit more worn to lend to the fact that Anthony died much quicker in service than Benjamin did. (Although they did get lazy with Anthony’s arms.) Benjamin is also missing the bottom piece of his belt.
