I do love Gears 5. I’d be a liar if I said otherwise. I’ve played it almost every day since launch.
Is it perfect? No. Is it my favorite Gears? No. Does it have the potential to be? Yes.
Really hope TC can turn it around. From what I’m seeing they’re on the right track.
I have also supported Gears by purchasing iron.
I don’t think you have spent 100k though…the amount of iron + boost is too low for 100k. Unless you’re trolling?

This folks is the reason nothing ever changes. No matter how many abstain from buying their crappy microtransactions theres these guys that more than make up for it. Some people just fall for the trap, drink the kool aid, and just make the rest of our efforts futile.
I’ve got about 2,600 Iron on me. Mainly left over from the OP Bundles because I feel guilty not spending any money for the Gamepass edition.
But that Iron only goes to skins I really like. Like Hivebuster Marcus, Baird and whatnot. And of course, Delivery Mac.
You be nice to our boi envi. He may be a deep roller but at least he’s a fan of the game. There’s people out there that have probably spent twice as much as him only because they can and because why not.

No. Regardless if he is a fan or not, this microtransaction wasteland keeps just getting worse and worse. Supporting it makes someone a part of the problem. And I wouldnt doubt there are other whales out there that arent flexing or that dont care about the game but when the problems come to a place where people can say something thats what people need to do. Also, Im not a fan of Octus so that last meme point doesnt do anything but make me roll my eyes.
Same here. I really haven’t spent much outside of the Operation bundles, which are great values. I’ve only purchased a handful of store items, otherwise the content in the ToD has been enough for me.
Calm down. Yea ik microtransactions but like you said (And I’ve said many times before) people will keep buying and buying so it doesn’t matter unless you convince those few whales otherwise–but guess what, you won’t.
All we can realistically do is wait for the gaming market to hit a ceiling and collapse, and the pro-consumer, actually good companies will survive and the big corporations that fail to respect their players will bleed out.
So calm down and just wait it out–because what else can we do? Nothing–exactly.

I’m confused as to why you don’t start your own studio and fund your own gears of war franchise the right way. You obviously got enough to pay devs and people so just make a good game for your buddies?

Ah ok, that’s probably the best way to play it, Campaign at launch, try out the PvE/PvP and then if it’s not to your liking due to lack of content/bugs then it will in shape about 1-2 years after launch tbh.
But I agree, Gears 5 at its core plays the best IMO - now every Gears games plays differently, Gears 4 was the best till 5 for me, but ultimately, I couldn’t go back easily because I preferred 5.
I think they will,
All they really need is:
-More Maps
-More Characters & Skins
-More Effort for eSports Content
-Look at CrossPlay Situation
-Get the Hit Registration to a better place
I think checking off items on that list would help.

The Microtransactions are so lacklustre, I can’t see the Store being that successful - compared to what it could be.
Look at Gears 4 - a pack would have 3-5 Characters & a whole Weapon Set.
Now we get:
-One Skin
-Split Weapon Set Most OG Time
-Single Weapon Skins
-Banners & Marks.
I really don’t think there’s any risk of jeopardising the game.
TC have said / Ryan has said that the money does go to support the game post launch and to help pay for things like servers.
Also, it’s completely cosmetic.
I’m willing to invest in the game and provide revenue & income if we can get the quality up!
No matter what though, spending money in the game when it’s just skins does help at least show Microsoft that there’s money to be made.
And that’s how you get the next game - it’s a business after all and games aren’t cheap to make.
I do like the series, it’s the only MP game I’ve stuck with since 2006 & played so much.
