Stop living in the past people. Gears 5 is great

The game game has been out a little over two weeks, I’m sure tweaks are in the works. 4, as it is now, is in a significantly better state than it was immediately post-launch.

no no please at least quote the entire line where i said, “This is in essence a Gow J 2.0”

essence - You use in essence to emphasize that you are talking about the most important or central aspect of an idea, situation, or event.

I’m saying that IN ESSENCE, this game has the same purpose as Gow J - to casualize the game.

Look at the maps, they are so different. Does it not remind you most of Gears Judgment? Does it not make you think, “Okay, they are going for something different here.”

It is not an abomination like Gears J, not at all. Is it horrible? No. Gow J went way too far with no DBNO and stuff like that.

Gears 5 is IN ESSENCE a Gow J 2.0 in the fact that it has stripped the game of it’s skillful dynamics. Every night I’ve had at least a couple of games with over 100 elims and a ridiculous amount of downs, so it isn’t like it is me having a rough time.

I’m just saying that this game needs tweaks. Right now it is on training wheels.

There’s no point to quoting anything but that line, because that line was my only and entire point. I’m not questioning the validity of anything you posted, just whether you’re actually being a critical thinker or copy-and-pasting the things you read that make you eagerly nod. It’s a meme at this point, and it calls into question if any of that is your own observations, or if you’re human silly putty that just absorbs what you’re in proximity of. It’d serve your arguments better to be wholly original.

I’ve been calling it Gow J 2.0 since before we saw anything about the game, just in terms of the direction of the game. for example, once Ryan Cleven said that the 83% was gone, you could tell how the gnasher logic was going to be. When Rod said, “we gained your trust with Gears 4, so we could betray you with Gears 5,” you knew what was coming.

I invite you to read the points im making and answer to that instead of focusing on “Gow J 2.0”

If you read what I wrote then wouldn’t you be able to answer that question about me yourself? If my points were “it sucks, gow j 2.0” then okay call me out lol.

If you only knew where my gamer tag comes from, you would be blushing right now.

I mean, I do. I’d still be playing Gears 1 if it wasn’t dead.

I’m going to be honest and give you my opinion. The problems I have are not going to get fixed. They are not going to remove aim assist/bullet magnetism. They didn’t change their weapon tunings to make it the same in core and comp in 4,what makes you think they’ll do so here? They want casuals to feel good when they can get a down or a kill when they clearly missed

Flashbangs are here to stay. People don’t like them. The smokes were fine but they don’t care. I guess innovation right? Their greedy store is not changing. Does it affect mp outside of it being a cosmetic? No. But it does leave a sour taste in my mouth when they are so eager to release content for the store and not address the issues the game has.

I just don’t like gears 5. Its terrible and casual. Give me gears 2 or 3 remakes.

I have been on this since Gears 2! No matter what, a huge percentage of people who think they are the only people in the community who matter always dumb all over every new game when it’s out, and then when the next game comes out, the game they just dumped on for years is now the holy grail of gaming. People hated gow2 because it wasn’t gow1. GoW3 came out and people hated that because it wasn’t gow2 (and because DBS). Gears judgment came out and…people hated it for good reason. Then gow 4 came out and people hyped it…and just hated it (even though it has the best movement in the series). But now Gears 5 is out and people are like "who wants to go play a great game like GoW4?! Buncha hypocrites.

Look Gears 5 isn’t perfect. Not enough maps. Weapons are too powerful. And they really need to iron out some of the bugs and polish. But the core of this is a good game that just needs a little improvement. It’s not dead. It’s not trash. You don’t have to LIKE the game, but that doesn’t make it dead. People were out during the friggin tech test like “wow this game sucks.” People just wait to share their knee jerk reactions, and it’s like you all belong to some hive mind like the swarm because you say the same lazy, tired nonsense over and over and over.

Again…it’s fine if you don’t like the game. It took me a while before I decided I liked Gears 4. It’s fine to call out the flaws. You SHOULD do that. I HAVE done that. But to the people who think the game is dead trash just because there are one or two things they don’t like seriously shut up already.

To each his own, personally I’m enjoying Gears 5 immensely

Gears 5 definitely not bad. Escape and the campaign is great. The Vs multiplayer though is horrible. It’s extremely dumbed down to we’re its not even fun. I find it impossible to push or make a play with the gnasher because the movement is ridiculously slow and stiff. I find that the lancer is far more reliable, wall bouncing is useless now, up A and back A rarely works because the way the new pellets are arranged. Aiming with the gnasher feels weird… I have definitely adapted though, but it’s made the gameplay so boring. I’ve just been bot walking and hip firing.

If you are as good as you THINK you are , you should still be good. Aim assist is the same for all, those who are good will still be good it’s not like they game new players an additional boost of aim assist. As for aim assist it’s a level playing field.

It’s a great game and takes me back to how good gears 1-2 were. Every other gears I stopped playing within the first month because of how terrible they were or became due tweaking. I’m with you brother! Just hope they don’t end up destroying the game.

Being “good” has nothing to do with it. Im a decent player. The aim assist breaks the game down to bot walking, hard aiming, and camping with the lancer. The entire movement mechanic has been deprecated due to how strong aim assist is. 1 v 1 and you’re right, both players have aim assit, he who shoots first wins (bar netcode shenanigans). Its now almost impossible to 1 v 3 or 4 because all the opponents need do is shoot towards you.

Gone are the days of baiting your opponent and punishing their mistakes. You strafe left, he shoots a foot to the right - now you’re 4 pointed. What?

When I was coming up not everyone was a winner. You had to work for it. Second place was just the first loser.

I’ll never be ok with these types of changes and ill never be able to relate to anyone that is.

Do you guys manually type that out every time, or do you just copy and paste it from a script?

I swear, it’s one thing when these complaints make the same point, but when some of you word them near verbatim like that, it’s like you’re not even trying.

You can post your stats, tell me how you play. Maybe I can learn something from you.

Playing like a horde bot nets me mvp of most of my matches.

3 player campaign is broken mess.

Which didn’t address my statement at all. God job.

Of course it’s a level playing field.

But to put into perspective my feeling on it, imagine for a moment that everyone has aimbot and all they need to do is pull trigger and they get a kill. Cover doesn’t matter, ammo doesn’t matter, nothing matters. Everyone just spams RT and the kills come.

That’s a level playing field, right? But I think reasonable folks can agree that’s a flawed system because it negates skill level.

That’s an extreme example and it’s not like Gears 5. But the same logic applies in this game, only to a lesser extent.

Level playing field is good, but it’s not everything.

Nah I gave you the opportunity to prove everyone “thats repeating a script” wrong.
I patiently await for you to do so.
