So what is the current state of this mode for LAN games?

I don’t think any of the timed events will get into private match options. Hopefully they improve private matches in Gears 5

I ment what does this mode do to game play compaired to core or compeditive mode?

Stay Frosty is currently available as a weapon tuning option in private matches.

Whether or not it will remain there is anybody’s guess.
