Starter weapons don't hsve active effects in PVP Versus

Took me way too long to realize this and now I cringe as I rcollect the hundreds of times I died while needlessly reloading to hit that perfect active reload. Also did not know there was an indicator for having active rounds so I did this every. single. time.

Damn.

Do you even play gears if you don’t hit that active reload and roll out upon spawning?

Yeah the best strat is to now avoid active reload altogether as the voice lines don’t help

Truth!

Long Live Guardian!!

God what a horrible change

I learned this the hard way. Was last man standing on TDM, whole team runs pass me, I laugh and celebrate by popping a gnasher active SUCCESS screams kantus, suddenly the whole team turns around in perfect formation.

You are not alone. I too discovered this two weeks ago.

Some forum members were kind enough to inform me about this. If they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have noticed it by myself at all.

Yet even after knowing this, every time I spawn in in PvP, I roadie run, roll out, and hit that active reload out of force of habit.

Even before a 1v1 confrontation, I always hit an active reload and charge in. Because again, due to my force of habit.

Oh yeah and the real unfortunate thing is I can’t stop active reloading the second I spawn in, have an enemy move towards me or when rushing lol. Everytime I just hit that active and each time I go to myself “well that was pointless”

I still to this day ask why they removed them and every time I am left to believe they were removed to make the game easier which is something I just hate lol.

I still do it and will continue to do so.

It’s one of the few changes I agreed with. I always thought actives was just another BS RNG component to fights. It’s nice and I feel special when I have one but I don’t think it’s good for the flow or balance of the game when it comes to loadout weapons. If your strat is to go in with only an active reload then you have to wait for cooldown period. That changes dynamic of gameplay when everyone is doing that. Or if you happen to not have an active available because you just used it and some
other guy has theirs then it’s just another RNG component that makes it feel like you got screwed sometimes especially if their character doesn’t use the voice line after active which happens.

For other weapons I’m all for it.

I liked it to be honest. It just added to gameplay for me when it came to making the decision to engage or not. The whole do they have an active or not was a fun aspect as well as avoiding active fire. Actives are part of the Gears of War identity but I do forget this is not Gears of War lol.

Any way to each their own
