Global chat is disabled during game to prevent cheating. That being said, it may be too harsh. I do like the idea of a proximity chat.

What I’d really like to see is people talk in online matches again.

This doesn’t make any sense.

Global chat was a staple of Gears 4.

It was part of the fun of online.

You want people to talk in game and so do I but it’s not really going to happen because of Xbox Live Party Chat.

If I’m cheating in theory with another player on the opposite team,

I can literally just invite them to a party chat on that logic and it makes it wayyyy easier.

Can you appreciate how silly it is to disable Global Chat when there are far easier methods to cheat?

It just takes away from us genuine players.

Never have I ever in my time seen ANYONE use Global Chat as a way to “cheat”.

Far easier just to use Party Chat and que and cheat in other ways if that’s what you want to do.

Sad times with some of these decisions.

Cheating? Like boosting or trolling? I’ve never heard of boosting before in Gears, but have seen trolling (rarely) where you tell Global where your teammates are located.

Also I’d like to note that I strongly disagree with this reasoning. It seems like a non-issue.

hey dude, really appreciate the heads-up on what’s going regarding the PC release, and i hope my post didn’t come off as overly negative. I’m just bummed by the situation.

as for your question, i suppose the best thing you guys can do for PC players is to focus on weapon balancing and removing auto-aim for mouse/keyboard setups.
it’s pretty much the main criticism i’ve been seeing around youtube and reddit.

I don’t work in a games studio (tho i hope to do so at some point), but as a market researcher and content writer, i’ma go ahead and say that communicating with your customers is the best thing you can do.

you’re already doing it, as in listening to mature constructive criticism (from some of the people here at least), imho, an official post here on the forums or a tweet would also be quite appreciated and would chill people out (if one exists, i’m sorry, but i missed it ).

keegan in horde would be a good idea. his ammo regen could be quite helpful. the problem i have with horde/escape is not so much a coalition issue its playing with random people issue. no one uses mics and strategy goes out the window. people start hording resources.

When i play with friends we call out ammo cans and build weapons lockers. so its not such an issue then.

Point taken. We have tried to create cards that change gameplay in an interesting way rather than just a power escalation.We may have gone too far.

Yes I think things have gone too far on horde regarding the ammo scarcity and the little amount of ammo capacity given to the lancer and boomshot … thanks for understanding on the point given and I really do hope changes on that direction previously discussed could be made ,

@N0DEZER0 Id like to know if gears could ever be al live service game like sea of theives or r6 Because i see every sequel TC makes bad design choices And dont learn from misteps instead exspand on how To make it better and less inconsistent in areas Along with giveing more dev time To work or overhaul things like net code server stability ranked and weapon tunings . Along with Adding content with out the team having to decide what gets cut and doesent because it would always be evolving And added at somepoint giving Gears Fans better trust in the franchise because they have seen Healthy Turn around Making it more likable the players will put money back into the game If it is fun and rewarding again🙂

Agreed. 4 had an extremely accurate and fair system. It was frustrating for sure, but I never felt cheated by it.

Not trying to undermine all the efforts made with the ranking system but… wouldn’t it be a lot funner to go back to ultimate editions matchmaking? It was so much fun having rolling lobbies, no bots, go until you quit and always have a filled in slot shortly after a buddy quits. It just seemed way more simple and fun then stressing each and every ranked game out. Sometimes I want to play koth without playing 120% to avoid the loss
