Oh jeez…I had this tonight. Some guy playing as jd wrapped so hard on my screen I was shocked. The replay shows him coming around but on my screen he never got past his corner
Yes. We think it’s a problem too. Not sure why this is happening in G5 and not G4 as much. We will investigate and fix it.

I think the best way to go about this would be perhaps over the course of the games life span - maybe look at bringing one weapon back.
The scorcher has long been requested since Gears 4.
A flamethrower makes sense.
The execution was really good for it in the old games.
But if not in 5, perhaps in the future.
The others would be nice to see eventually.
MP just gets a little stale with the same weapons over and over on the same few maps.
Thanks for your reply. It will help If you don’t have to go back. But the difficulty of this map is much higher compared to the others. I have played with people who did the map before Mac got nerfed. And we already played like 20 hours to complete this map after the change. I don’t have problems that you need a couple of tries. It is called master. But this is insane. Mac is too weak now. And if you don’t get the salvo for Keegan you won’t have enough ammo in the end. The other characters are useless for taking down bastions.
Inconceivable is ok because you can Play without bastions. But it is the only map I have left for seriously. So inconceivable is not enough.
The other maps are based on skill and tactics. But the gauntlet is just based on luck. Depending on enemy spawn. And you can’t Go different ways on this map.
It should be possible to beat this map without duplicating Mac. And that’s what they did in the only Video I have found on YouTube after the nerf. It needs Changes.
Salvo in the first room, buff Mac back to normal or Change enemies somehow (like Just 1 Bastion in each room). That’s what I would do…
Played last night (KOTH) and although it is still ever present I did think the damage was a little less. The range where it “sucks you in” still seems too far though. Just my thoughts.

Horde enemies are bullet sponges…apart from kait n jd…u may aswell throw stones at them…hence sentries/tri shots/mulchers being spammed…basically boring to be frank…even the torque bow which is more of a skill weapon than most…nerfed beyond recognition…its good your replying to peeps…but this game is backwards not forwards…dont play much verses but my pals say it aint enjoyable any more…im not sure how u ended getting this game so far off the mark…but you have and the lack of players already shows this…
Thank you for going into further detail. I feel the lunge with the breaker mace is fine considering it’s a power weapon (The invincibility while swinging I think should be removed though) but I don’t think the standard melee should have you lunging at your enemy from a sizable distance away.

When I join the game, the Tour of Duty was displayed running for 17 weeks. So I was confident to reach the General rank in time. But since the last week update, it was reduced to 12 weeks. So now I’m kind in a hurry. Thank you, by the way…
So I take advantage of every double stars available and spend even a bit of Iron earned to reroll my challenges as much as I can when it’s doubled. But it happened twice or more that I did my challenges when simple stars directly change for the next day and discover a few hours later that it’s now doubled. So for example, I completed challenges for simple stars today as soon as they were available, and now they appear doubled but don’t count doubled for my progression anyway. It’s so frustrating !
Can you just warn in game on when exactly it will be doubled to avoid feeling frustrated like this ? I and most of the people I’m sure would appreciate it a lot !

The connection thing isn’t something you can really control, and I get that, pings vary and performance based on that can be a hard judge.

The store has been one of the most disappointing choices added to gears 5. Where are all the characters from the previous games? Why does it feel like all you guys are selling is generic items like gun skins and base character skins. Why is there no myrrah dizzy Dom Cole Baird carmines tai barrick sam Prescott locust Minh anya Bernie Hoffman Paduk kantus etc. Adding some of these might warm some of the fans to the microtransaction system and putting some of the old gears into gears 5 might give the long time fans the feeling that TC are not completely abondoning the franchises roots. They need some of the original maps added as well. Ps the hivebuster are not great…
Any chance we will be able to re order where the characters are in the select screen in the future? Like how on the cog side Kait, Del, and JD are the top 3 and say I wanted so swap Marcus’ and JDs spots so Marcus is in the first row.

Sorry Ryan, personally and I think I can speak for the majority but the gears of war 2 gorgon was not only fun to use but had excellent sound design and incentives to use portable cover with.
I know you guys made the talon but from a pvp standpoint I can’t stand that weapon and have 0 desire to spawn in with it or pick it up. The gorgon I ALWAYS went out of my way for in 2.
I also think you are making a mistake in some ways when it comes to the legacy weapons. The scorcher and Breechshot specifically.
YES they serve the same roles as the markza or overkill but when it comes down to it they are just fun weapons to use and add more gameplay variety and meta.
You can’t look at me in the eye and tell me that burning 3 people with the scorcher and finishing them off with sticking the last dude in the stomach full of napalm is as satisfying as a few back to back overkill kills. It gives gears that unique brand of crunch and brutality it is known for.
The breechshot is similar to the markza I agree but again the fun factor and sound design is just so excellent I think it would be worth it to either have it as a center line weapon or a secondary with significantly less ammo.
Doubt these will ever see the light of day in 5 but I hope you really consider what I said for the future
That’s great news. I’m already seeing improvement to the game I’m finding matches no issues. And what you guys did with the weapons tuning its been great specially the lancer. Keep it up guys as a gears fan since 2006 I appreciate you for trying to bring the best gears possible. Keep positive. Wish you guys the best. God bless

I remember octus telling me this when I ran ironman campaign with him a few weeks back. I agree they serve the exact same roll but it’s missing that “gears spice” to it.
When an ink was tossed, the beeping it made followed by the FRUWMMMMM followed by the characters hackingbup a lung and getting downed from the detonation just seems way cooler then a beep beep zing with a little sparks.
Again its not so much as the role it plays but how “cool” and unique it is.
I think venom grenades are worth looking into as a viable replacement one day as it is now established canon and very similar to inks
Anything deebee related is cool and all but doesn’t feel or look “gearsish” to me like the overkill looks extremely futuristic compared to grungy and war torn likenlocust weapons or original cog weapons just feels a little to clean if that makes sense. This might be just knit picking but offering what I feel as a fan. Also would like to preface that the original trilogy’s weapon systems ALL revolved around vietnam era weaponry the futuristic deebee stuff just seems it is straying further away from that original vision
The issue in the clips is one of the main reasons why I can’t truly enjoy the game. It’s also the overall feel of the game that just feels off, but the video pretty much sums up why I can’t stand playing this game in its current state. This happens to me every single match, and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Why must I be punished and lose the majority of my Gnasher battles when I completely out-play my opponent and predict what they’re going to do next, only to get killed because of THIS? If this wasn’t an issue then I’d look past the sh*tty MTX and tedious ToD dailies and enjoy the game for the gameplay and that’d be enough for me to love it, but I can’t truly enjoy this game when the current system rewards those with brain dead play-styles. It deters me from playing passive OR aggressive because bullets can curve to my character or around corners, so cover’s essentially useless in this game. This ain’t the Wanted movie, and it’s absolutely unacceptable. This is a cover-based shooter, but cover is utterly useless. Who would’ve thought?
I assure you, I’ve never had this issue EVER in previous Gears games.
Hi, this is probably small beans compared to the technical questions here, but I’m curious: are there any plans to make it so we can see how many total kills we’ve made throughout the game, how many ribbons we’ve gotten, rounds played, totals deaths, rounds played, number of MVP’s won, etc like GOW4’s war journal? The current stats tab feels pretty skeletal by comparison.
These are also the reasons why I stopped playing the game, many things do not work in this Game which is important for fun. 95% of the lobbies felt that their opponents had stronger weapons than our team they shoot over a big distance and you down or dead when you shoot back comes nothing.They shoot through cover or around the corners is not fun. I’ll take a look if they fix it if they manage to fix it I hope they can do it
I also believe that it has a lot to do with the connection, Players with a high ping are also preferred which I can not understand this.
