Having a list and knowing what is showing up for you are 2 very different things.

Yeah, overlapping squares as shown in the video above have been on display an extraordinary amount for me (Iām talking like up to 50% of the game) in the last few days.

Could you provide a list showing each symbol and what they mean?
I think once there was some clarification on the old Gears 4 forum that is now gone.
Edit: specifically which symbols mean the problem is on our end and which ones mean the problem is server level
I get the WiFi symbol sometimes. In most other applications it would mean weak signal. I play hardwired, so unless itās showing loss of connectivity with the ispā¦I have no notion of what it is telling me. People assume the squares are packet loss, but weak or intermittent signal loss from the isp would always lead to packet loss. Sometimes you get the squares without the WiFi symbol.
I can see, but on some level, I likely canāt share certain types of information.

Surely some information about what connectivity issues symbols mean isnāt required to be kept on the same level of secret as the ever-popular āfuture contentā? I mean, it may not be of much practical use to us players but it would still be something good to knowā¦ right?

They have been there since gears 4 and never to my knowledge has TC ever revealed what any of them mean except the wifi symbol which is shown during a loading screen as a tip.
I see 1 symbol every time a rnd starts in versus for about 2 secs which i assume is server related but thats a guess.

Ive only had 1 symbol appear at a time, this was just something that happend 1 time today in 2 different matches when within 10ft of the same player. As i said above ive never had this connection issue before.
It never happend again after i left the gm with that person. I found extremely strange.
It was like someone using a lag switch in gears 2š

Thx, think it was the 1st two, never get wifi symbol, i was more interested in finding out what all the symbols mean out of curiosity as i dont no 100% what they mean.
I may as well flip a coin a say heads its my fault or tails its not my faultš
Thought i was asking a simple question that didnt need to go through all this secrecy

As i said previously it only happened 2 x today when near 1 person on the other tm long enough for them to be walking into walls n kill me in 2 seperate matches, the 2nd time i left the gm and its been fine ever since.
I recorded both incidents.
Lol truth be told man the Xbox one just plays better hardwired to your internet. WiFi drops like flies all the time.
