So the pros want a revert

I’m more than willing to hear/respond whatever you want me to. All I’m asking is that you summarize the point(s) instead of expecting me to watch a 35 minute video.

i just don’t understand the logic here. they’re trying to please this super tiny group of players and promote gears of war as this hardcore esport. which, by the way isnt popular or even grown since they started.

well, if Gears turns into this rote technical experience then who is going to go and wach it in the first place? not the core fanbase who fell in love with the first three games.

Negative. You watched Ash vid and took it for fact. Now he explains the other side and you don’t wanna hear it. The response is good kinda entertaining. It will be a quick 30 min hell doesn’t even seem that long actually. Not sure if it is even that long. He actually blows holes through ashes points. Funny how ash responded with his typical PR response to him. Btw Never take anyone’s word for anything, do your own homework and make your own informed decision. Society use to do that now everyone wants everyone else to do it. That’s how miss information is use. Everyone has a agenda.

This is nonsense. I didn’t watch Ashes’ video and “take it as fact.” Actually, I did exactly what I’m asking you to do, and summarized the point from his video that I wanted to discuss:

Judging by Ashes’ video, it also seems like much of the pro-scene’s issue with the movement update is with communication and transparency. Springing a new movement update on them the day before the San Diego LAN seems like a really poorly-thought out decision by TC if true.

Why is it so hard for you to do? Just because somebody doesn’t want to spend 35 minutes watching a video doesn’t mean they are unwilling to hear the other side.

Than that why our discussion is so messed up because your summary about ash points are all wrong because you didn’t watch it. It’s not about transparency ashes points it’s about his career and MONEY$$$$$$$$ ONLY MONEY(oh well if you decide to watch it you can see 2 for 1 because he just responds to Ash word while Ash vid is playing)

Alright. man. Next time just tell me upfront that you’d rather assume ulterior motives about those who disagree with you than have a meaningful conversation, and it’ll save us both a lot of time.

Just so you know Mark ash even says it’s his career the movement pretty much affects his career there career. That what it comes down to. Not about the community as he see only his community. E sports not ours. It effects them. That’s why they want revert. funny I watched both vids you watched none and jump into this thread with only your point of view . How can you discuss anything? Seriously lol wow.

The eSports community only wants to revert the movement due to money… Ok. Explain then why members from Reciprocity, who won the last tournament using the current movement settings, are also asking for the movement to be reverted? Shouldn’t the two main rival teams (NRG and Rec) be on opposite sides of the issue if it’s just about money and placings?

Nah, don’t tag me on things that involve @Mark36111 when it comes to serious matters, he’s too far gone imo. I’ll only deal with him for jokes/memes and if he needs quick help with ToD, that’s it. No serious convo ever comes with that guy.

I just tagged you to link the video to you that’s all not to include you in the discussion. I’m on forums with my phone so some of the things I see people do here like link responses together I just can’t figure out. So that is my work around. When some other options are there when I’m in desktop browser but I’ll rather have instant load time.

Ah gotcha. Thanks for the tag then.

Affinity(rise Nation) also because if you watched the dam video you would know they practice the whole time with the previous movement and they don’t want to adapt. The pros like the slower movement because it fits there game play for escalation. So it’s about them(what they want) not about the game as a whole. Man mark have a good night. Geeez.

@III_Essence could never quit me if he tried, and secretly desires to be tagged in every conversation involving me.

If it involves funny(ish) posts like this where we can both laugh or make fun of each other, sure thing.

Right? I been playing Gears since the day Gears 1 came out. I’ve gamed for over 3 decades. Ever since my parents bought me an Atari for Christmas. Since when do these so called pros know better than anyone else? It would be very wise for T.C to listen to the community like this fourum, than just a hand full of entitled Pros!

It seems like T.C is going in a good direction. They are just taking forever to do it. As for the so called Pro’s. They just need to deal, and adapt just like everyone else!

Why did they hype up gears 5 as a more tactical game with slower movement going back to its roots then proceed to go “deeper” with the movement and according to them this is only the beginning

game is still a BETA

the movement is off right now. It really isnt about speed, fast or slow

the issue here is how everything relates and plays out for the gameplay

slow - UE - amazing
fast as freaking crap - 3 - amazing

Imo Gears 1/UE is not slow but pretty much perfect when it comes to speed/movement
Gears 2 on the other hand is… SLOW!

So if anyone wants a tl/dr to the thread…

Gears 5 pros…rofl at even the concept of a Gears 5 pro…

Gears 5…still utter garbage…

TC…still utterly clueless dev…

TC shills…carrying on as usual…

Well said. Nobody is arguing that professional players should have the primary say in design choices, but obviously they can provide insight on things that are conducive or not conducive to high-level competitive play. “The skill gap” is something that gets talked about a lot around here, so I don’t understand the hostility towards those who would know the most about it.

Hopefully TC takes a balanced approach here. The strafe and backward movement speed increases should definitely stay, but something needs to be done to reduce the power of brainless up-A’s.

Right, they added more powerful weapons, so they slowed down the movement to “highlight” those weapons (which I take to mean “make it easier to kill people with more powerful weapons”).

This is what Dana said on stream, with octus & ryan there.

Ryan also made multiple statement, across multiple streams, post launch, about reducing the learning curve, letting new players get the 6 kills per game so they came back, to keep playing, how they made it a priority to attract and cater to new players, Rod (the studio head) was talking about managing the BETRAYAL (his word) of core fans as part of expanding the player base, etc.

We know EXACTLY why ALL of those changes were made: to appeal to masses, to make it easier for casuals to “do well”, and to decrease the advantage experienced, skilled players have over new players…

Now that that strategy appears to have exploded in their face, trying to re-write history, and trying to come across as a true Gears fan trying to make the game fun for fans is laugable, Mr NODEZERO
