I swear 75%+ of the time the Boom is not killing people when it should. Direct hits, hits on walls, hits at someone’s feet, all within range, and all resulting in no kill. What the hell is going on with this game???
Worked fine on the maps my friends and I played for 5 hours today.
It’s like hit or miss no pun intended. Was just in a match spectating a teammate and he took a DIRECT hit to his legs out of cover and he just got 4-pointed. I’ve had it happen to me too and I straight up told the shooter that I shoulda died

Will the Boom still kill people standing on the Longshot/Torque area on River? I believe you could do it with non-active if the player was close enough to the wall but with an active I think no matter where it would obliterate them each time.
Dude, you must be missing, the boom is nowhere nearly as bad as you are claiming it to be
It’s definitely not as good as it should be. I’ve had some real bullshite with it and I’ve also sponged shots which should’ve 100% blew me to bits
Just a splash damage boost I’d imagine
I’d like the respawn times extended though. Spawns in far too often now imo.

It’s not my aim. Did you read the post? I was spectating a teammate and he took a direct shot and it didn’t kill him. Also, the same happened to me a day or so ago. The guy shot me full on, the explosion filled my screen, and I lived
They need to make it more like the gears 3 boomshot
Boom and grenades are unforgiving on that, like they should be. When someone picks up nades on gears 5 I don’t even give a ■■■■ 
The Boom in 4 was perfect. It was 99.99999% guaranteed to gib anyone within the explosion radius. Now, you have a higher chance of staggering someone instead of outright killing them if it’s not landed properly.
Also sometimes in ffa when I get rushed I shoot the boom quickly I can hear the boomshot go but no ammo is used and the opponents the boomshot with the full amo. I feel in this specific situation the shot should at least use the ammo when I ear it shoot.
So many things were right in 4 (especially weapons) but TC absolutely love wiping the slate clean when there’s certainly no harm in carrying stuff over that worked. That’s what you do to me, carry over stuff that was successful, add to it and make it bigger and better.
- lancer was good and did punish if you’re trotting around out of cover
- grenades were far more powerful especially planted
- boom as mentioned
- shotgun felt better, no 99% crap.
- boltok, hammerburst, markza etc actually worth picking up
Nerfed the weapons far too much in 5 considering they wanted a diverse play style.
I agree on both. Little splash increase wouldn’t hurt. An active shouldn’t be the only way to get a kill, and the respawn timer should be increased.
They even nerfed the Retro in the last TU, and it wasn’t even that oppressive, or that popular, of a weapon to even warrant the nerf.
G5 Boom is toy gun compared any other Gears Boom
God sake It’s explosive weapon and it wont do any damage , samething with frags those delays are ridiculous 
Ugh I hate Gears 5 Boltok… but I was a beast with it on 4… only weapon I cared about when I was leader (if they wanted to give me a power weapon, cool, but as long as I had boltok it didn’t matter) I also dunno how many times I wound up getting more headshots with boltok, than the guy hogging snipe on Gridlock, given by seeing that ribbon pop up at the end for most headshots (wanna say Carmines Star, but given the name, I think that is actually the one for most headshot deaths)
On 5 tho, I don’t even pick it up anymore.
