How did peic only have respect for anything but money what so ever? as all i see from TC is moiney grabbing t**ts who ruined the franchise, gears is done coz of them end of.
You say that now but inprpmise you Epic was worse. All the greed of TC without a hint of humility or empathy for their original fanbase
Ah. I see.
The MP lead is the guy that whines about not being good when he hasn’t had enough time to get his ■■■ kicked and get better at the game so he makes it easier for less skilled players.
If that was the plan to invite lesser skilled players into a franchise that has almost always had a high skill ceiling, then you can keep this game and I’ll just go back to Gears 4. So much has changed in this game that simply didn’t need to. There was almost nothing wrong with 4 outside of lag compensation and networking which is somehow worse in this game. Shameful.
I will gladly go play something else. Not only is Ranked a joke but so is Social.
Adapt or die.
You mean copy every other half a*sed AAA game from the past 3 years. Making the game more accessible is fine, but they can do it in a way that doesnt butcher the core experience for returning fans. I.E the people who will be playing it long term and not just cause they got it from gamepass.
Dear Microsoft, please get this series away from this man and The Coalition.
The RNG they use for shotgun battles?
Do you have a link? I am unable to find that interview.
Ima need u to take several seats… if u played geara 2… u should be good with the same shotgun, similar wallbounce, or you only played campaign, or played years after release
…
What’s with all these gamertags from 2017 saying they been since gears 1 and this n that needs changed shotgun this shotgun that foh… u may have played the first gears… but if u downplay the gnasher u haven’t been playing since then…
He’s just so hard-headed some times.
Don’t forget the tantrum he threw over pro players requesting execution to be a comp mode. He even put a poll on twitter of exe vs esca, which he later deleted (i think) because Exe gave esca a run for its money.
I believe it is his leadership that killed exe as a ranked mode, to protect the baby of escalation. Disgusting.
I puked after reading this. Thanks for posting.
DISGUSTING.
I remember reading/seeing that Rod had made them all play every gears of war game leading up to working on UE, so they would understand the game from top to bottom.
That didn’t work because this direction brought us a gears j 2.0.
They tripped over the same rock again.
DISGUSTING.
lmao you are like a chef that doesnt taste his own food as he makes it and gets mad when people tell him he put too much salt in it. you can call chef gordon ramsay and your product needs more time in the oven if you think this game is good enough
Please do yourself a favor and stop comparing EPIC gears to TC gears because the first 3 games are the classics and with all that new technology TC failed to deliver, and did you really say EPIC was money hungry, did you see the prices of some of the ridiculous things gears 5are you kidding me .
Dude Epic stumbled upon something great accidentally and had no clue what to do with it so they just tried to make it more like CoD because they thought that what would get them rich. I’m telling you they had ZERO integrity when it came to a vision for their game or what their game meant to the fans. Sure TC isn’t perfect but please comparing TC to Epic is really just laughable. Anyone who was around at the time and can take off their rose glasses would know this is pretty obvious.
They accidentally stumbled on something great! Budddy they created one of the greatest games ever and you say comparing them to tc is laughable sorry but tc is not even on the same level of greatness as is EPIC your comparing a high skilled company to a rookie company .Lets agree to disagree all tc had for a mission was to make something great into something greater but they failed on all levels expect for the campaign on 5 witch i think was great but as for the rest where was tc listening to there fans about horde and versus ? In one ear out the other.now it’s just about the money .
The lancer clip is half the size as gears 3, yet you can EASILY down opponents with rounds to spare? Sounds more like OP than skill to me.
Go see how many people you can down with a single Gears 3 lancer clip.
OK. I will play some GOW3 versus for reference. I believe there was a video where you said the Gears 5 lancer clip was half the size as the GOW3 lancer, so it would make sense that you could down/kill at least 2 or 3 people (in a competitive environment) with one clip of the GOW3 lancer.
My comment here was made one week after Gears 5 launch. Gears 4 was my measuring stick for the perceived lancer power. The recent tuning adjustments (lancer & 25% aim adhesion reduction) are positive improvements that I enjoy. However, I do believe the lancer is still too strong at distance.
My viewpoint is that I have always appreciated the feeling/illusion in GOW that my character was invincible. Like if you’re peppering me (couple shots here, couple shots there) with your lancer or snub from a distance you’re probably dumb or trying to distract me because I don’t even feel that. Gears was always dope because you could make moves on the field while taking what felt like was a good amount of damage from assault rifles at mid to far range and still make a play. I don’t feel like that anymore. I feel like if I cross an open hallway or corridor my life is threatened from 1 or 2 shooters at 15-30m and beyond.
Don’t get me wrong, I want the lancer to be a useful weapon. In Gears 4 I started using the lancer less. Heck, half the time I pulled out the shotgun before the round even started. Any other Gears game I would usually have had my lancer equipped when I reached my first point of cover. I feel like Gears 5 made the lancer relevant again, but it’s a little bit too relevant.
To improve, I feel like removing stopping power from anything beyond 5-6 .5 m is imperative. Also, I think the inverse damage omen plays a factor. It’s like an unavoidable stop sign. I don’t feel invincible when my damage indicator is lighting up my whole screen. All the best dude. I appreciate the hard work put forth by you and the team!
That pretty much sums up why the game its not fun… its not a Resident Evil game to begin with. Its a game that is supposed to be a war where ammo its not a matter of concern… that why I truly believe the decision of reducing the ammo as well as shortening the ammo capacity on the lancer was a disastrous idea. we should be having fun killing the monsters on horde, not to scavenge ammo in order to do so… the game its inverted in that sense and behaving as something its not supposed to be.
I really think if horde would be implemented as Gears 3, The Coalition would have save themselves from a world of hurt from the customers.
I played GOW 3 versus and tested the lancer. Screamed like a banshee, minimal recoil, long clips. I got a number of kills with it, but it didn’t feel as powerful as the Gears 5 lancer. The Gears 5 lancer feels like it does damage more quickly. The TTD feels shorter than the GOW 3 lancer. Again, this is strictly a feel type thing. I’m sure there are stats to disprove it, but I’m speaking from my view of how each lancer operates in it’s own games environment.
Things I noticed:
Accuracy - GOW 3 lancer feels less accurate. Therefore, the TTD feels longer for the shooter and target.
Maps - Gears 5 maps lend themselves to the lancer. These maps have open areas that present multiple lanes for gunfire (i.e. hallways and open rooms). These areas have minimal or no cover, but little area to move freely essentially making them death traps for someone caught there during lancer fire. The Gears 5 maps also create angles that allow shooters to target enemies for an extended period of time. GOW 1-3 seemed to always have cover where need, with it becoming more scare around the middle or around a central point of cover.
I think the Gears 5 lancer is always going to feel overpowered based on the weapon’s fire rate and accuracy. When 2 people are shooting at you, your down before you even react. I don’t think the gun is wildly overpowered. I think it just gives off the impression that it is (if that makes any sense). If you dive around a corner and someone is 15-30m away and engages you with the lancer, the damage omen is blood red before you barely scramble to cover (if you’re lucky.)
I think the aim adhesion reduction has helped a lot. Honestly, I would like to see what the Markza is like with the original tuning, but keeping the aim adhesion reduction. I don’t think the problem was the damage it inflicted, but that headshots were far more common b/c of the adhesion. I was getting headshots every time I picked it up, but since the tuning I don’t think I’ve even got a kill with it.
That’s all. Thanks again for all of your hard work. Bless.
