Oh yes. For all the people saying bring back Epic you clearly have some revisionist thinking about that time. Epic was like TC but so disconnected from their fanbase we had people in the chat explaining to their lead MP designer what basic concepts were like a superman or a pop shot was. For all the flak we give TC, TC does get the game at the level the experienced players do and you can tell they are at least somewhat conflict about certain decisions. Epic had no respect for anything but money what so ever. They would’ve taken the gnasher out full stop if it meant they made another dollar in profits.

I have to disagree with you on this. I have been enjoying the game a lot. The campaign was amazing, VS is great (needs some tweeting), Escape is pretty good, and Horde is better than I expected with the locked characters.

The MP lead is the guy that whines about not being good when he hasn’t had enough time to get his ■■■ kicked and get better at the game so he makes it easier for less skilled players.
If that was the plan to invite lesser skilled players into a franchise that has almost always had a high skill ceiling, then you can keep this game and I’ll just go back to Gears 4. So much has changed in this game that simply didn’t need to. There was almost nothing wrong with 4 outside of lag compensation and networking which is somehow worse in this game. Shameful.
I will gladly go play something else. Not only is Ranked a joke but so is Social.

You mean copy every other half a*sed AAA game from the past 3 years. Making the game more accessible is fine, but they can do it in a way that doesnt butcher the core experience for returning fans. I.E the people who will be playing it long term and not just cause they got it from gamepass.

Don’t forget the tantrum he threw over pro players requesting execution to be a comp mode. He even put a poll on twitter of exe vs esca, which he later deleted (i think) because Exe gave esca a run for its money.
I believe it is his leadership that killed exe as a ranked mode, to protect the baby of escalation. Disgusting.

I remember reading/seeing that Rod had made them all play every gears of war game leading up to working on UE, so they would understand the game from top to bottom.
That didn’t work because this direction brought us a gears j 2.0.

Please do yourself a favor and stop comparing EPIC gears to TC gears because the first 3 games are the classics and with all that new technology TC failed to deliver,and did you really say EPIC was money hungry,did you see the prices of some of the ridiculous things gears 5are you kidding me .
Dude Epic stumbled upon something great accidentally and had no clue what to do with it so they just tried to make it more like CoD because they thought that what would get them rich. I’m telling you they had ZERO integrity when it came to a vision for their game or what their game meant to the fans. Sure TC isn’t perfect but please comparing TC to Epic is really just laughable. Anyone who was around at the time and can take off their rose glasses would know this is pretty obvious.

Budddy they created one of the greatest games ever and you say comparing them to tc is laughable sorry but tc is not even on the same level of greatness as is EPIC your comparing a high skilled company to a rookie company .Lets agree to disagree all tc had for a mission was to make something great into something greater but they failed on all levels expect for the campaign on 5 witch i think was great but as for the rest where was tc listening to there fans about horde and versus ?
