Sense, logic, and the real truth

I simply cannot. I mean. Playing TDM we are up. 8 respawns left to 1. From that point forward not a single shot counted. I had a Kait on the other team just run through my lancer. Killed a teammate, slide to the wall, pops as shot and then spins off the wall, I die as well. No hits at all. Not a single one.

They just ran over us from that point. I may suck I was for absolute f’ing 100% hitting those shots. I was even getting hit markers. Trash is trash. I also died after point blanking the same player from behind. They just hit my teammate for a gib and quickly turned. Missed their first shot, I hit a second, and bam, they killed me with their second. One hit for 100% for them and nothing for me.

I just cannot adapt to that. If the player, stationary aiming at my teammate right in front of me is not going to take damage then what the hell am I to do.

I just quit my first match ever and will never touch this mp again. I should have just quit when all the other long time Gears players I played with stopped. But I wanted this game to be good. Going to finish the campaign and then just uninstall.

The last thing I will say. It makes no sense when everyone has solid ping and ■■■■. And it most definitely shows that there is more here than just ping and some minor ■■■■. The game has a coding issue that means no matter you might just get shafted like we did. One player eating all those shots. And yeah, the shots where hitting.

I 100% agree with you, i have been thinking for a while its not lag but the coding. For example using a markza i shot a guy 6-8 times with the last shot being a head shot to finish, aiming at chest and using recoil to end in head shot. The player never moved once and was killed standing in same spot, if this was a ping issue the first 3 -4 shots should have killed/downed him as normal, it didn’t, so quite a few shots didn’t register and i wasn’t experiencing any noticeable lag while moving around, only when firing at the enemy, the only way i knew i was lagging was shots were not registering as everything else was smooth.

Don’t even get me started on the Super Soakers, there’s times you hit guys 5 point blank shotgun shots and they still going.
How does this make any sense?.

TBH me and my friends have been calling Gears of war 4, Gears of lies since its launch, i think we have a new contender. I love this game but it seems the fixes are making it more broken for me.

The netcode for this game is bad. That encompasses all of the issues players are citing experiencing. It’s just crazy that TC wont admit it’s a problem, atleast not yet.

I played the first GoW competitively. And honestly, Gears 2 was the one to ruin that for me. There was no going back to playing at that level. But I persisted with playing the franchise. With 5, I’ve actually not really had many problems with how it plays now. But that’s because i’ve Been out of the game long enough to enter and adapt. And man is it easy. I reached about level 50 playing multiplayer, my k/D is teetering around 4, last time
I checked. But I’ve stopped playing now, haven’t been on for almost 2 weeks I think. This game isn’t bad, it just isn’t fun or a challenge.

There is a post on here where somebody called gears 5 the phantom menace.

he made the point that he realized star wars wasn’t targeting him anymore with episode 1, and that gears 5 was that way for him.

they have to change the aim-assist, magnetism, and get rid of that feeling of having a huge hitbox.

i’d say to nerf the chunk range but look at how poorly people understood that in gears 4.

it is casualized way too much.

what is the point of having arcade in the game if they were going to casualize the entire game?

once they fix the feeling of the giant hitbox by nerfing the aim assist, there will be more movement and evading shots. the weapon balance will truly be seen once they fix that.

then we can talk about nerfs and whatnot.

One thing that I’m seeing a lot of is people saying the lancer is a lot stronger when in reality its actually not. What people dont realize is that it seems stronger because of the change from bloom to recoil. The gun doesnt have enough recoil to justify this change

I agree with this post on a spiritual level

I really like the idea of escape, love the deeper campaign although that choice you make seems stupid unless it will have an impact on 6.

The MP is another level though, you can still jump on 3 or UE and find people have a clear lancer opportunity but they don’t take it, they get the gnasher ready and wait.

I went back on 3 recently and although the matchmaking is bad (playing against mexicans when im from the UK) and there was an element of nostalgia that needed to be shattered, i still have more fun on it than 5.

3 has a lot more camera shake when running but i think that plays a part in separating skilled or time spent learning the curve players. 5 feels more accessible from the get go with a weird 1 hit range, and maps designed for rifle abuse. If they put azura or academy in 5 i think it would really emphasise my point.

Then there is the betrayal of microtransactions, a lot of people that complained about having to buy the map packs just to be on the dedicated servers back in the day would be the first to buy it now having seen how filthy the micro transaction route has taken games.

Ii agree with you 100%. Lancers are boring.

I came to terms that the Gears I grew up with won’t ever return and GoW UE was the last taste of that.

Unfortunatly the promise in Gears 5 feels so muddled. On one hand it shows a lot of promise but immediately the portions of catering to the new player outshines everything else.

Your post is literally the opposite of mine.

I agree that the game did start the core tuning, but I was fine with it, I agree that people shouldn’t be forced to learn the gnasher and having an alternative. I had a friend that only used support weapons and suppressed and did great in Gears 3, at the same time I could still be the aggressive player I’ve always been. Which I loved to be doing.

For me they had both worlds, whatever play style you used you could play. Movement felt free and good. I could honestly get passed this games movement but the shot delay in between bounces and rounding corners ect just makes it feel off.

It’s after a match when you unclench the controller (or mouse) and feel your heart beat in your throat.
Because damn, you earned that win.

Rather than a camping-lancer-fest.

Yeah you get it . Lol

Yeah you need “out-play” the camper at least x2 times to be able to win…

A camper will defeat a x1.25, x1,50, x,1.75 berserkers/offensive players without efforts. So why even try go foward when you know the camper have all the advantaje?

You sure about that?
Maybe this one?
ooooooooh, I think you’re talking about this one?

Point being, the gnasher is not stupidly OP when in comparison to every weapon in this game that’s normally consistant.

I’m not the best Gears player by far, but if I can drop 100+ eliminations with MAINLY the gnasher because I hate lancering people (it bores me), you can too. Especially if you’re talking like you’re a good player.

And yes, I say eliminations. Not kills. I would say the kills of those 100+ eliminations were around 80.

Now in general, I somewhat agree to what you’re saying. But in my opinion, I like having another weapon to rely on other than the gnasher. See someone from a far? I don’t have to use the Snub or wait for them to come closer to me so I can get them with the gnasher. I can spray them down with the Lancer so they learn to not run directly at me.

But I agree with the damage of the lancer, it’s a bit to much where it’s currently at doing 8%+ a hit from good distance.

Just overall, everyone needs to let TC do their thing. I know it’s been a month, but c’mon. No game is ever perfect.

Just look at GTA V. The launch was HORRIFIC. Game crashes, console crashes, lag, disconnection, etc. etc.
Now, it’s STILL one of the most played Xbox games being #4 on Xbox’s most played games 4 years later…

They’ve already talked about bullet magnetism, they’ve talked about new characters being added where you can either buy/earn them, they talked about matchmaking, they talked about the ping issues, etc. etc.

They know we’re having issues with this game. everyone that opens the forums once know this.

In the end, Gears 5 is not any other Gears. It’s a new edition, and even if you don’t like it, it’s here to stay. If everyone hates this game SO much, flood the forums with “We want Gears X: remastered” Simple. Nothing else to say/do.

You made sum good points. I was addicted to rushing in gow 1 and 2 because it was effective and nobody lancered. Gears 3 had strong rifles and the retro is such a b-word. In gow 4 and 5 there is the delay out of the rodie run which, to me, almost ruins the game. My whole thing is quickly running up to sum1 and stomping them because i utilize the suprise factor and catch ppl off guard, but now it is useless.

Just a side note, the game seems sloppy and i cant understand sum decisions that have been made.

  1. The vote counter in upper right hand corner. It doesn’t display the first map’s votes which just baffles me. You cant even vote properly.
  2. In guardian the jinn-bot uses the same voice as your original character. Its just so awkward.
  3. The executions. Why is there no curb stomp? Why does the meatshield not protect against grenades? This is outrageous. Why do i have to hold the b button to execute? Half the time i wind up kicking them somehow even though i hold b. Its anticlimactic and i live for the executions. Nobody ever does them!
  4. You can see the enemies planted grenades with your tac com. Why?
  5. Its hard to plant nades on the ground for some reason.
  6. What is the reason for changing the chainsaw button to the reload button? I find myself reloading the gun when i run outta ammo instead of chainsawing! Ridiculous.

Sorry for the long post but i needed to say it somewhere lol
