Score Boost Cards

So I’m playing escape and for my Lahni set up I use both score boost cards but I was wondering if that actually works. Like is that acceptable or should I just switch one out for another skill because I’m trying to reach the 1% so I’m trying to have a good time you know but I want to make sure that these cards are actually helping

Usually, you don’t need Score Boost cards for 1% if you collect every or as many COG Tags. I have gotten 1% on every Escape Map on Master without Score Boost (excluding Descent). But The Clock has two paths where the no COG Tag path won’t give you 1%. You can use Score Boost then, to guarantee 1%. Score Boost is usually for the Top 100’s or amongst the first places.

Normally, you should be using 5 important cards to help combat in gameplay. If you beat Master and you feel like it’s too easy or want Top 100, then Score Boost.

Damn I thought they were essential for a good time. Thank you!

Does it make a difference in score if everybody has score cards equipped or just the person picking up tags?

Only the person picking up the tags.

So Score Boost cards don’t apply to other points on the board, such as the teams overall kills, spotted kills, time etc? It’s purely just for COG tags collected?

It does for the person who has them equipped (pretty sure anyway).

Both is true.

The complete final score is higher / better when everyone has Score Boost cards because they seem to apply to anything that rewards points. Spotting / marking, assists, kills, executions, COG Tags, meatshields, revives, downs, headshots… etc.

But if only one person equipped both Score Boost cards, you will want that person to pick up every COG Tags but the final score after ending won’t be as high as if everyone wore Score Boost cards.

3 with Score Boost > 1 with Score Boost who get Tags > Nobody with Score Boost

Old thread resurrection!

The Score Boost affects the overall team score right? Or does the person with the score cards equiprd get more from kills etc?

It benefits the final time score for everyone on the team. But be sure you’re the one picking up the COG tags when you do have these cards enabled.

I tested it just now with someone. He had score cards, and I didn’t, and he made more points/seconds per kill than I did. I was copying his kills and on the same types of enemies, so it was consistent. It wasn’t much - usually 2-5 seconds for Drone-sized enemies.

Of course, the score cards apply to everything that generates score in the run, Ektope already described that above. One person can’t kill every enemy on the higher difficulties alone though…

It wasn’t totally clear. Ektope refers to everyone ideally having score boost on; and that the player with the highest score boost stat being the one to pick up the COG tags.

What I’m referring to is a bit different.

I had always assumed that the score boost cards increase the team’s overall score - so in essence if say, Player A has two score cards on, then the points acquired is the same regardless of which player gets the kill.

What I’m seeing is that if Player A has score cards on and Player B does not, then the kills that Player A gets will give more points than if Player B got the kill.

Ah I see what you mean, yes, that is correct. The player with the score cards on will get more points for the same tasks, but the end time score, the tally, will apply to everyone. In my experience the biggest difference will be seen from the tags though. If you’re the only one with those cards on, make sure you grab the tags yourself.
