Yeah. BL3 should be delivered by the time I get home from work so I won’t be playing Gears5 once I get that virtual heroin that is Borderlands back in my veins.

I dont think it’s dead but its not loaded with players anyway. I have a hard time finding a quick match that actually has players in it. Same goes for the horde, especially the high difficulties…
I was excited about this game and I still am, despite the fact that there’s nothing to grind for. But please, its a pain to find players… what the heck ?
I miss Gears 3 days where you were able to find lobbies easily for like 4 years straight, even after judgment came out. I was hoping that everybody would come back to Gears 5, but I see many of my friends dropping the game (lack of content, forced characters, lots of bugs and glitches) for other popular titles right now.
I’m sad.

I’m I hardcore fan and I’m loving it. Weapons need some major tuning but it’ll happen. I’ve said in other threads people are more likely to go to forums to complain then give praise. Once they nerf some guns down it’ll be great imo.

also have to remember the game is on gamepass if it were not the numbers would be drastically low. its also a very low streamed watched game not enough attention brought to it

Yeah, but it’ll be too late unfortunately.
I don’t think so man the games been out a week. Let’s give it a few months before we forsake a beloved franchise.
I never thought it was dead but honestly a new release game (that’s basically playable for free) beating a three year old F2P game ON A SPECIFIC CONSOLE is not exactly anything to brag about.
I’ll start to worry about Gears 5 being dead if it’s like GoWJ population which was dead in under a month’s time.
It’s two years old and no other game beat it for over a year. Fortnite is huge. Garbage, but huge. It sure is something to brag about. I read it did record numbers for any Gears game during first days.
Of course numbers will drop as most players don’t spend many hours playing multiplayer or finish campaign. It’s the same with every game. Gears won’t be dying anytime soon.

Regardless that the game is 3 years old. Its F2P and has had the highest player base for a long time. Apex never did that. Red Dead never did that. We’ll see if Boarderlands can do it.
My point is it’s a nothing statement because we don’t have any stats.
Fortnite was the most played game on Xbox by what margin?
How many people were playing it in total?
How long did Gears 5 beat it and when did it happen?
Was it a spike in the first couple days?
Was there a drop off?
We don’t really have any information. It’s just marketing fluff. And again Gears 5 is playable for “free” to millions of gamepass subscribers. Long story short, we need to wait at least two months to get an idea of the longevity and success of Gears 5. Right now the “stock” is overvalued.

Regardless of what your asking, Gears 5 isnt “free”. People bought the game, people got the $1 promotion and people pay full price for gamepass. It beat out the most played game with mostly early access.
Yes it did, with the help of Game Pass / Ultimate, but for how long ? It’s already dropped to 7th. Looks like everyone on game pass jumped on, it shot up there, and it now looks like it’s dropping because many will have seen it for the broken mess it is. It’ll get worse too, their latest tweet stated their AIM is to fix x, y and z by the end of next WEEK. Too little too late imo.

Borderlands 3 has done it already, top of the most played on my store and Gears 5 is now 8th

That’ll be because they put it on Gamepass. This was the first Gears I wasn’t going to buy. I only played because it was on gamepass, which I already use. I enjoy Gears 5, but I haven’t played anywhere near where I though I would. I’m like level 40 or something. This isn’t a game i’ll persist with, like all the others since 1.
