I’m not saying that the community should “get everything it wants”. I’m just saying that multiple (if not hundreds) of people have shown videos and screenshots of the issues in the game and have been respectable about it. But if you read today’s “What’s Up?” they don’t mention any of the glaring issues with the game right now. It’s just a bunch of “We’re working on fixing the re-up display in lobbies” and “We’re working on fixing the horde scoreboard.”
What about getting rid of bullet magnetism and aim assist? (Yes I know they mentioned a “Possible toggle” for aim assist). What about high pings and being put into matches in the wrong region? I was playing on Aussie servers the other day when I live in NA. And of course they listened to feedback on the store, that’s what makes them money.
Well, I have to disagree with the last part where you say the consumer is not to blame.
Consumers are partially to blame for the horrendous business practices adopted my most, if not all of the gaming industry. If these companies/studios weren’t making bank by selling microtransactions, they would abandon the monetization system and move to something more profitable, or at least it would be less prevalent.
Unfortunately for us, for every one person that opposes the idea of microtransactions injected into full priced games, there are 5 opening up their wallets thinking “Well, it’s only a few bucks…”. At least the industry is slowly but surely moving away from RNG lootboxes though, so I’ll take that W.
Its a shame that some people cuss TC out all the time on Twitter but its just as dreadful that those seem to be the only responses that TC reacts to. Btw what happened to the feedback program? This game can be great gameplay wise with a few tweaks. I just dont get how they didnt react to feedback off the beta. The aim assist & magnetism combo is dreadful.
Nobody cares. You cant even display rank after the match. The game is so PC after a few matches it gets turned off. They brought the new players and alot got bored. Hard to sell a title with so many bugs and glitches. Theres no reward in it. Just the grind. People get bored and turn it off. It failed. Most of the reviews are product incentives.
Time to move on man. They threw in execution for some numbers. Nobody noticed those tour of duty are to get player base up in those low pop modes? Common wake up.
In any industry things always has been like this,
Singers, actors, bands, musicians, sports teams and of course , videogames creators are made by the fans.
Try figured out any company that made a video game just for hobby.
We are the ones who spend money on their content, art , or any service they may sell.
yea I do agree that the consumer has responsibility for what they buy, but at the end of the day tc knows theres kids out there goin mommy mommy its only ten bux its only 20 bux
regardless, does anyone in their right mind think a character skin is worth 10 bux hah puuhhhleeeeze
If the god awful prices in the store were the only issue, Gears 5’s future would be bright. It’s easily rectified, especially if the whales can hold on to their wallets for a couple of months.
No, unfortunately, there are a myriad of issues that need to be addressed. All of it could be done in a single update, but it would involve TC tacitly admitting they went in the wrong direction. It takes big people to man up like that.
Haha!
You really don’t know what are you talking about
¿Do you?
¿Did you know CD project?
Those who include a letter giving you thanks for buying their game on physical editions
¿Nintendo?
Those who actually put in their last game
characters from another and rival companys
because the fans.
There’s a lot of companies out there that care TO MUCH for their costumers
Today’s update actually mentions that they are working on a lengthy update that goes into some detail about behavior people have been reporting re: “magnetism” and purported aim assist.
My point in mentioning “the community doesn’t get everything it wants”, was specifically because of examples like your conflation of not specifically addressing the issues YOU care about, with “ignoring people putting forth constructive feedback”
Maybe they haven’t discussed how to implement fixes for certain issues yet. Maybe some fall under what they’ve been saying since release, regarding not implementing balance tweaks until the game has had ample time to “settle” in. That these things aren’t being publicly acknowledged or fixed on the timeline you want, isn’t proof that they are being ignored. In fact, I’ve specifically seen Octus on twitter, engaging in dialogue with people complaining about some of this stuff.
The store was one of the first things to get “fixed” (or at least CHANGED), because it’s an extremely easy “fix” - just reduce the prices on stuff going forward. Simple.
Ultimately the people at TC just want to make games their players enjoy. It gets tiring when people assume they just don’t “care” or something. You don’t pour years of work and long overtime hours into making a game, if you don’t care what your players think. That also goes for Rod Fergusson who, whatever you think of his stewardship of the franchise, clearly CARES about it.
Rod Ferguson has nothing to worry about, because he’s received the money from the game sales etc. However, some people might be only able to buy one or two games during whatever length of time it may be. Yet the game has had so many problems/issues. Therefore they have a right to be pissed off, imagine buying anything else and it doesn’t work properly, you’d still be annoyed the same.
There’s no excuse to release something that is half baked. It was obviously rushed out.
Then all that time during Gears 4, when people were giving feedback (there was a lot)… its basically like TC have seen the feedback and gone in the totally opposite direction of it all. Therefore, what was the point in giving all that feedback when none of it was listened to…
So then you have the store and that’s self explanatory and yet developers wonder why it comes across as toxic. Its because they don’t learn from the past mistakes and still continue to make bad decisions.
The thing is it´s not content, it just simply isn’t. The only tantrum I’m throwing is that TC after three years of working on this game, They couldn’t bring out atleast…ATLEAST the characters from the campaign.
They’re not just issues that only I care about. Many others have been talking about those issues with little to no response from TC. The fact of the matter is the game should’ve been functioning properly on launch. What exactly was the point of the tech test to stress test the servers if they were going to be horrible on launch? What did they even learn from that? Saying that these issues are only ones that I care about is laughable.
I don’t use twitter so I don’t read posts from TC Octus. I go there once in a while to look at TC’s twitter page for news. That in itself is ridiculous, having to go to multiple websites to be able to get up to date information. I understand they won’t have a fix for everything yet, but at least acknowledge that you know it’s a problem is not much to ask. At least if they acknowledge these issues, then we know they’re listening. If Octus is engaging/discussing with people on twitter that’s great! Maybe he should have Rod’s job. But also considering he is the Sr. Community Manager, he should probably have a larger presence on the forums.
not everybody on here is like that, also both sides of the arguement can be implemented in that language not just the people who have issues, but those that defend those issues, calling the other morons, or toxic when they have legitimate quips with the game.
