Rod fergusson liked a tweet calling us toxic cry babies

Let me ask you who is Kim ? Wasn’t he in gears 1? And tai sure seemed familiar

You Gears 5 doesn’t give new characters to unlock just skins. Hmmm if I recall in gears 3 there were very few new skins just reskins of existing default characters (sure were a lot of Marcus, Dom, and Cole variations) Gears 3 also had characters locked behind challenges cough cough savage Theron and Kantus cough cough and just because you don’t unlock characterss by leveling up doesn’t mean they are locked away lmao. You can earn the characters in ToD. Sorry you won’t have all the content in the game by week 2 and you’ll have to work a little more to get them poor baby.

There was a season pass in gears 3 I’m starting to wonder if you ever played it lol. You are aware RAAMS shadow wasn’t the only dlc in the game right? Fenix rising and the forces of nature map pack was also a thing. You’re a really smart one aren’t ya :joy:

It’s not surprising, when you look at all his recent responses to the issues. Him saying there’s “waaay more free content” in Gears 5 than 4 made me laugh. With the Horde changes, bot AI downgrade, weapon balance, plethora of bugs everywhere, flashbang hell, microtransaction environment, etc, this game is quickly becoming a joke.

With the exception of campaign glitches your post is just your opinions and I disagree with them.

F that buggy campaign.

Pick up a collectible and it shows up in inventory.
Pick up the next collectible, and now I’ve lost 3 random previous collectibles on top of the two I just picked up. It wasn’t just a display glitch as even more achievement tracking progress was resetting along with it. Had to replay sections of the campaign multiple times just to pick those things up again and again.

I can agree that the Gears community can be toxic and, at times, delusional in regard to where the franchise was - from a development standpoint - and where it is now. This game is far and away smoother and more consistent than it has been in the past; even with its issues, currently. There are updates and patches that will address most of the gameplay issues that people are whining about.

That being said, there is a great deal of justification in the backlash that the community is supplying. For those that paid $60-$100 for a AAA title, the lack of launch content is laughable, the price of the add-on content is downright insulting, and the quality of the content is thoroughly indolent.

In the past, I didn’t mind paying full price for the title, maybe adding on $20-$30 for a season pass, and calling it a day, knowing that I would get access to new maps and content as it was released. For this title, there is no such avenue. Even if free content is released in the future, the amount of additional paid content is outrageous. This game may as well be a subscription service and charge me $20/month for the life of the title. I don’t need to beat to death what others have already said about $8 executions, $4 emotes and marks, $20 weapon skin packs and $10 Delivery Driver Mac…

I can SORT OF understand charging those prices to the game pass community, as their copy of G5 was “free” with the purchase of gamepass; but to charge the customers who paid full price for the game, this type of practice is completely unacceptable. It is obvious that TC and Rod got caught with their hand in the cookie jar… In response to the backlash of the microtransactions, Rod said “we’re learning as we go”… To me, that sounds a lot like… “Oooops… we tried to ■■■■ you and got caught, so we’ll look into fixing that once we’ve beaten all the cash out of this dead horse.” That is what people are really upset about.

Omg you’re right! I also paid for the game, the console, and Xbox live. I believe that makes me entitled to every game and all it’s content that comes out for free

Actually unless a massive amount of people do that I don’t think it will hurt them. Too many people don’t want to follow through with their threats. Every year somebody says they will boycott a big triple AAA game but come release they bought a copy -.- Devs keep pissing their player basis off and yet they are still in business. So it must not be such a big deal if they keep getting away with it.

When it gets here I want to play Phoenix Point because I’m a huge fan of XCOM based games and Lovecraft stuff. However I don’t want epics shady launcher on my pc. Since I’m not in a big rush to play the game i’ll actually wait for the steam release. How many people say stuff like that and actually do it? So many people were upset at borderlands 3 being epic exclusive yet that didn’t stop them from buying it.

They want to do what they want to do but at what point does the community input come into play?

the whole deal about nerfing gnasher play was understood way back but why continue with that when you know the community equates gears to gnasher.

That is just an example, I’m personally fine with giving more use to other weapons but not to go out of their way to nerf nerf nerf gnasher play.

Gears 5 is fine, the game isn’t horrible, what I don’t like are the decisions they have taken after the fact - the levels of aim assist, the prices, the quantity and design of maps, etc

They know what they are doing.

Imagine this game launching with 7 brand new maps and 3 all time favorite maps with more to come.

A good respectable store and more rewards for stars and iron.

How hard is that to understand?

They are stubborn, just look back at them ignoring (yes, ignoring is correct) the cries to nerf the aim assist. Was that not clear from the tech test??? hello??

What about the replies about the omen? “Um, have you played with it?” when people couldn’t get their hands on the game but had already seen the new ugly omen.

C’mon, we don’t have to play a single second of it to know some things are WRONG.

This is gonna skins crazy. But for all the people upset about the store just don’t buy the content. Nobody is forcing you too and I think your life will still be just fine if you don’t a few skins lmao so much anger over a game

I think complaining about the store and structure of the grind in Tour of Duty, are completely warranted and acceptable. I forwarded my own criticism of the store to Octus last week.

However, I think complaining of a “lack of launch content” is pretty laughable. As has been mentioned a million times in a million threads, COG characters are no longer glorified skins with some VO. Now, you can DISAGREE with this change to “heroes” with ultimate abilities and whatnot, but it’s the route they went. Adding a character now requires more work than simply getting some extra lines in the VO booth, and making a skin. They require their own lineup of skill cards, their own ability, and extensive playtesting of both, to ensure balance. It isn’t enough to say “well Gears X had way more characters available at launch!”, because “characters” fundamentally aren’t the same thing requiring the same amount of dev work any more.

Beyond that, they created a new mode (again, whatever you think of that mode), and created a pretty good map maker utility for it. And the Tour of Duty (whatever you think of it!) has lots of cosmetic stuff in it out of the gate - some people just dislike the grinding involved to get to it. And there’s even more stuff on top of that, via the Supply/Scrap system.

People acting like Gears 5 is some barebones package unless you’re spending on the premium store, are being melodramatic.

You know what angers me? When someone doesn’t use interpunction on a public forum and clearly doesn’t even read it through before hitting that Reply button.

I’m a terrific guy he’s just a softy. Seems to be the theme nowadays McQueen

It was definitely a lot more then $15 when it was released. Also if you look at some of my previous post I am not defending the prices in the store. I think they are out of control with the prices. But one thing people need to stop doing is comparing last gen prices with this gen prices.

Some people just can’t handle criticism for the junk they put out

Looks like we touched a nerve

I like the game, just not a fan of the store! I really liked the customization of weapons and characters. But it’s not a need so I just won’t be buying any thing. But that does not make it ok, it’s actually bs

You should probably get that cough checked, Yeah you have to grind and Kim was also in raam shadow. Weren’t you more informed then me? Guess not. What characters are you talking about? You mean the re-skins? is that what you mean.

Lmaoooo ofcoarse my bad I guess I forgot that you level up and get marks, expressions, and what not, we can still grind for the ToD, right? for that cool Swarm Hunter without his mask on, or Desert Del with goggles. ooo or should I forget about those amazing Banners. I like how every other arguement I stacked against you, You just blew off, Whats wrong boy? No comment on the glitches, bugs, forced character selection, and three years for just a emote or a mark or a banner?
